What was wrong with him?

He stood in the long, empty hallway, questioning his rationality. Then, he stared at the closed door, standing between him and the object of his obsession.

Why did he have to insert himself in the middle of this again?

Simple.

He could not get as far away as he should have. He had tried so many times. But truthfully, every time an opportunity presented itself, he could not help but be drawn to the middle of it.

Not exactly the welcome he would like as he stood by the door when she opened the door. But he was not shocked either. He was probably expecting it from her.

It was no secret, but he believed he was not precisely her favorite person to see. And for whatever unknown reason he could not fathom, she was deadset at declaring him enemy number one.
