4 Tired of Surprise

I walk back and forth aimlessly while holding my head. People call me genius since I always at the top in class. I also learn fast and can perform any medical assistance magnificently. I am a doctor, the most professional and respected career. Only selective people can be a doctor. My way of thinking is I only believe in what I see and feel. Currently, the information is too ridiculous for me to accept them. Throughout my whole life, I would never expect something like this will happen to me.

A couple of hours ago I just transferred to another world and now, a reincarnated person? This is getting more and more ridiculous. I don't even believe in ghosts. Now, maybe ghost really did exist.

Spontaneously, the memories of me doing overtime at the hospital come to mind. I remember there's one time at midnight. I was walking alone at a certain corridor after finished my rounds checking on the patients. Suddenly, a person wearing a white one-piece walks pass by me outside of the window. It doesn't bother me at first but then I realized that this is the 7th floor. However, I convince myself that it was just a spotlight from a nearby mall.

Now that I think about it, it is really a ghost.

Aware of the truth, I gritted my tooth and scream.

"Argh. Someone! Hit me! Wake me up from this dream!"

Nevertheless, I need to relax and think. Eve said that she is from this world but her soul is not. Well, her pink platinum hair and violet eyes sure do not exist back in my world. Unless for people who dyed their hair or use color contact lenses.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I need to clear my mind first before I could start to think properly. Now, let's hear more details from Eve.

When I turn around, there is a neat man wearing a tailcoat. Yet, Eve is nowhere to be found.

"Who are you?"

"Greetings Master, my name is Nicholas Stewart, a steward at your service."

"Where is Eve?"

"She just went home, master."

"What? Damn! I'm not done with her yet."

I ran out of the room just to find a junction. Right, I still don't know the way of this building. I turn around to ask the steward.

"Hey, Nicholas right? Where is the exit?"

"It is on your left master. Worry not, I will show you the way."

Nicholas, who already standing behind me, answered and show a hand gestured to the left.

"Then, let's go. Quick."

When we arrived at the foyer, there are some people wearing the same type of clothes like Eve but Eve was not there. When Nicholas ask some people there, they said Eve already depart on a carriage five minutes ago.

"Damn!" I'm so frustrated. I sit on a bench head held down. It's not like I am desperate to know her. I just need to ask for more details about her stories since she said that she is a reincarnation from my world. So that I could put my mind at ease.

"Master, please rest assured. I am sure that you will be meeting with Miss Clark sooner or later."

I look up at Nicholas.

"You sure?"

"Yes. considering that you might be spending more time at the mage division later on."

That's right. Eve is a royal mage after all. Considering that my task here is to save this world (well, according to that knight hawk), maybe I'll have my training held at the mage division.

"Thank you, Nicholas. I feel better now."

I stand up and put my right hand on Nicholas's right shoulder.

"It is a pleasure to be able to help, master."

I just notice that Nicholas has been calling me 'master' after all this time. it makes me blush a bit. It is a first to have people calling me that. I admit it is a bit embarrassing. Anyway, he must be calling me that because of his work. I won't argue anymore. I'm already tired as I am now.

"Shall we make our way to your resident right now?"

"My resident?"

"Yes. The kingdom already prepared everything for your convenience."

"Oh. That helps a lot. Now, let's go."

"Then, I will show you the way to your carriage."

When I heard the word carriage, in my head, there is an antique style box carriage carried by a couple of horses. I snicker a bit at my own imagination

However, my eyes went wide when I saw the actual thing. It's a car. If I have to say it in detail, it would be a combination of a carriage and a car. The front until the driver seat is close to a car. While the passenger seat appears just like a regular carriage. Even though the overall design is quite close to a box carriage, nevertheless, it is still a car since it does not require an animal to move it.

Nicholas opens the passenger door for me and I carefully get inside. Once again, I feel weird about being treat like a master. Not long after, I once again got surprised when the car started to move. It is because I don't hear any engine sound. There was just a sound like 'shing' once before the car started to move.

"How does this carriage move?" I ask Nicholas who sits in front of me.

"This carriage requires magic energy to move. It needs a high amount of magic energy to operate. Thus, unless that person has a high amount of magic energy, they cannot drive this carriage."

Eve does say that people in this world use magic in their daily life. I guess this world also does have advanced technology in their own way.

"So, how are the regular people move from place to place?"

"Here, common transportation is a carriage that being pull by a horse beast."

Beast? Maybe it's just their way of calling an animal.

After two hours inside the carriage, we finally arrived at the designated place. Seeing the vast garden and the gigantic mansion does not surprise me anymore. I think I have become an important person in this country. For now, I will just have to follow the flow. I don't want to expect anything but I hope I will have a good life here.
