6 Her Current life

At the age of 12, I remember my past life memories. After I woke up, I have a terrible headache. My mother told me that I fainted after being hit by magic in the head. In spite of what my mother told me, I don't think being hit by magic was the cause of my headache. In fact, I am sure that it's because of the sudden overflowing memories of my previous life. The magic was the only trigger for me to remember, I guess.

I was overwhelmed with surprise. At first, I thought it was just an unrealistic dream but I remember it like I lived that life before. It is impossible if I think about it realistically. If I ever tell about this to anyone, they would laugh and think I take a dream seriously. Or worse, they would think I'm crazy. But, why did I suddenly remember them in the first place anyway? I wonder why. Is it to give me a warning about what will happen to me in the future?

However, The biggest shocking recollection is that this life and the kingdom that I lived in right now was very similar to the contents of the game that have been created by Haru (my past life's name). It's an RPG game called 'Saint of the Other World' also known as SOW.

I don't want to bluntly assume that this world completely rules by the game's setting. I know that this world is being managed by the fairies, everyone knows. Maybe the fairies thought that "Wow, this game contents pretty interesting. Let's plagiarize it and make a world out of it". Anyhow, that was just my speculation.

Anyway, A year has passed since then. I live my life as usual. Nothing happens after I remember my past life memories. Until one day.

"Young lady, did you know? Recently, a demon beast has appeared at Count Polit's territory."

I was about to stuff my mouth with a cake when I heard Freya's news. Shocked by the news, I accidentally drop the fork that was in my hand. Freya is my personal maid that I personally choose when I was visiting an orphanage with my mother three years ago.

"Oh no… Young lady, you have to hold your fork properly. Here's a new one."

"Freya! Please tell me more about what you said before."

Ignoring the fork, I pester Freya to tell me more about the news.

She surprised a bit maybe because I accidentally use a high tone just now.

She calmly put the fork beside the plate before continue to talk.

"I heard the news from the townspeople when I was on an errand this morning. There was a man who just came back to town after traveling from the south. He said that currently, the state of the Polit territory is in chaos. The amount of imperial army being station there was higher than usual. Even a high ranking officer from the capital was there. So, he asked some locals what happen. They said a demon beast has appeared and there's already a victim that has been killed by the monster."

So it happens. My body started to tremble. I can hear my heartbeat thumping louder and louder. Ah. Now my peaceful life is over.

"You don't have to be scared, young lady. The south is really far away you know."

Realizing my silence, she continues her talk.

"No. Thank you for telling me about that."

I look at Freya and smile. She bows at me politely before exiting the room.

I let out a heavy sigh as I try to recall the memories of my previous life. I remembered it was in the game's introduction. It stated that 'Years ago, a single tiny hole to the demon world appeared in the southern part of the kingdom. Demon beast started to appear and attacking humans'.

"Then, the hole has slowly become larger and more dangerous beast would come out from the gate. Later, holes started to appear in a lot more places throughout the kingdom."

I muttered to myself. I hold my head down.

"At this rate, it will go exactly like it was in the game. Ugh. My speculations are inaccurate after all."

Wait. If that's true, that means I will get kill. I am aware that I am the Evette Rose Herrington who was the last boss in the game. If this will goes exactly like the game flow, it means the day I die will comes shortly.

My mind is thinking like crazy and my hands are getting cold. I bit my thumbnail nervously.

"I'm scared."

What to do? Should I tell someone? I must do something. Let's see, strangely, I don't have any recollections of how I died in my previous life. But I do know that I was only 25 when my memories end. Argh. I'm so scared. Not good. I'm getting panic.

"Prang! Prang!"

"Gasp!"

Unexpectedly, a loud sound coming from the outside. It sounds like something has collapsed. I walk to the balcony to see what happen. From my room's balcony, I can see the back garden and also the place where the servants hang out while doing the laundry. There's also a second gate which usually being used by the servant. The main gate in front can only be used by the master and the guest of the house. Outside, I saw one of the clothesline's leg broke into two and the clothes spread to the ground.

"Pft~ Again, Freya."

I chuckle at the sight of Freya being scolded by the head maid while she's giving a bow over and over. It seems like she unintentionally breaks down the clothesline, probably.

I sat both of my arms onto the handrail. I just noticed that for an instant, I forget about the miserable things for a while. Thanks to Freya I am able to relax. Alright! Let's take it slow and plan carefully. I will never let myself die in vain just like in the game.
