1 Prologue

Nolan is a young 16 years old weak boy, who dreams of living a fulfilling life for all eternity, despite being just an ordinary boy without the means to do so.

Last week was the beginning of summer, and they-his family(mother only)- did their scheduled visit to his grandma's house for the whole week. It was a family gathering where all kinds of relatives he has no wish of interacting with, comes together to do some normal family rituals.

By accident, he found something that would change the course of his life permanently. It was a square book-sized box he found in his grandma's basement when he was snooping around just 2 days before they left for their house.

The box contained an ancient-looking book along with herbal roots that should have died a long time ago.

Reading the book, he understood that it was a legacy left from an unknown time, and more importantly, the legacy was intended for his bloodline, specifically the male version of said bloodline. It was all written in the ancient book in an unknown language's alphabet, but they looked like magic runes which looked nice, and he could understand it so clearly as if it were English.

The legacy stated that a male will be born 'when the world awakens', and when that time comes, if they want to thrive in the new world, they must plant and grow the herbal root. The book stated it will grow leaves after one week of nurturing it daily with the essence of the born male.

Its leaves alone will be no different from a common herb once it matures, but if it's mixed again with the essence of the male, it will become completely different herbal leaves, it becomes magical herbal leaves.

It will invigorate anybody who consumes it, and continued consumption of the mixture of herb and essence will give the consumer an abnormal vitality that boosts their healing, endurance, and strength to an increased rate.

But for this to happen, the book through convoluted words specified that the first consumers must be female specifically for them to provide the male with their breast milk, as the herb will make sure to release the excess vitality as breast milk so that the male will be invigorated in turn. Therefore being able to increase the essence the male provides.

Incredibly this was only half the part of the benefit of this herb, as the second step is so much more magical, if a consumer of the mixture herb doesn't see improvements anymore no matter how much they consume, it means they reached the limit of their body being able to hold any more energy or vitality of the mixture (therefore more breast milk than the usual).

If they wanted to gain more energy, they must receive continuous essence directly from the male himself, along with !##!*¤# (he was unable to understand this part) for them to reach 'the second tier' (another word he barely understood what it meant).

The book wasn't more than 10 pages despite its big size, and the runic language that was written on it was larger compared to the normal alphabet. In the end, it stated the true legacy of the book and herb could only be uncovered by the Male.

Nolan was amazed by this book, from the novels he reads to pass the time, it sounded kinda like a dual cultivation technique, where in this legacy the male's essence (which he had no idea what it was… okay maybe he had some idea, either it's blood or …) is used as nurturing tool for the herb, who in turn when made into a mixture with the essence (again) of the male, it could provide the female partner with enhanced lifeforce, and through breast milk she will share her excess lifeforce with her partner.

And with increased vitality, the male could provide more potent essence for the herb who in turn would provide more lifeforce to the female partner, who in turn feeds her excess vitality with the male, and with such a continuous cycle it felt like they would be unstoppable in just 100 years and with so much vitality they could even become immortal…...

As a partial geek who dreams daily of experiencing what life has to offer for all of eternity, he was enamored by this book and its legacy. But there was a problem, he didn't have the ability to nurture this herb, thanks to his extremely weak and skinny body. He could barely walk for 30 minutes straight.

This thing sounded like it needs a lot of work, something he wasn't able to do.

This meant someone else has to do all this stuff, someone preferably female who stand to gain much more than a man, (just imagining a man eating his 'essence' sent a shiver down his spine), but unfortunately he didn't have a girlfriend, and he was a loner in school with just one friend.

He needed a woman that he could trust his life with, otherwise with the things stated in the book he could be turned into a slave, a machine that could make super-powered soldiers.

'Hmm..' There was only one woman he could trust this with… his mom.

Now that he thought about it, his mom was perfect for this, she had a small in-house business where she grows all kinds of plants, like flowers, herbs, and some small fruits that she would sell to her clients.

If he were to hand the herbal root to her, she could grow it and he doesn't have to worry about it.

But another problem arose, how could he convince her that she should plant the herb, it would take space that she could use for other plants that could be bought by customers, and an unknown herb that she knew nothing about would-

'Stupid me, the answer is right in front of me!' Physically being sick since he was born, my childhood was filled with pain and medication, yet my condition never improved.

My unknown sickness was the reason my mom became a botanic expert, as we found out my condition could only be improved by consuming herbs with medicinal value.

'I will just translate and make a new book that contains the ancient books legacy entirely -except for some ominous words-, change some ambiguous words like 'essence' to certain more clear and perverted words, and make it seem like it was a translated version of an ancestral book; then let her think about it and work on her own.' This would take a lot of time and work, especially on how I can make the translated book look genuine translation of an ancestral book.

I just hope my condition truly improves.

….

Now it has been more than 5 days since he acquired the book, translated it, modified some words from it, and came up with a plan for his mom to find the book.

He hid the translated book among her old things when she was living with grandma. One day he made her search through her stuff with him to find some toys he had when he was a kid.

Pretending as if he was searching, he acted like he took out the box the actual ancient book came with from one of her cardboard boxes that were filled with small trinkets.

The box would legitimize the contents of the book since it looked old and unique with its root-like form.

Handing it to her while acting confused about what it was, he pretended to have important schoolwork, before he left her alone in the basement.

A few days later, he saw her having ponderous and conflicting expressions ever since he suspected she read the book, looking at him and then shaking her head.

After 3 weeks of waiting, she told him to drink a new herbal tea. Wondering where she got his 'essence' to nourish the herbal plant, he drank the herbal tea and easily estimated that she just grew it with normal nutrients and water judging by the bitter taste.

It didn't taste any different from the usual herbal tea she made for him, and it did nothing to improve his health and vitality aside from a small increase in energy, which was basically on the same level as normal caffeine.

He knew she was skeptical about the things stated in the book( even he was, even if the ancient and magical writing made him believe it a little more than her).

To make her hurry on with the nurturing of the herbal plant, he pretended to feel sicker, as he ate less food, and coughed more. He knew it was a low blow but he had to do this if he wants to accomplish his new goal in life, or more importantly improve his health.

Moreover, there was an increased uneasiness he felt regarding the outside world. The words 'when the world awakens' he read in the legacy book made him worry about the strange things he began hearing in the news.

Reports of strange things happening were increasing by the day, and strange accidents were happening all over the world that even the most useless news channels couldn't ignore or act like it wasn't happening anymore.

It was suspicious that they tried not to acknowledge all the strange news circulating the internet in the first place, and now they just say it was some animal attack, some terrorist attack, and all kinds of bullshit that didn't make sense regarding the strange cases.

The legacy book talked about the 'world awakening' something he was quite familiar with with his extensive reading of books.

If he were to truly believe the legacy book, it was enough to clue him to start preparing for an apocalypse of sorts. He has to make her hurry with the real process of nurturing the herbal plant, for their sake.
