15 Third meeting

Maybe it was fate but she ran into Ye Jin for the third time in the lobby of Platinum Jewellery.

"Don't tell me you work here?" asked Ye Jin, raising his brows.

"What does that have to do with you?" retorted Ji-a.

The employees at the lobby were whispering among themselves.

"Who's that girl? She looks so beautiful."

"Don't you know? That man is the CEO's only son."

"I don't think that girl works here. Oh my God, are they dating?"

"She must some gold digger."

"She looks so elegant to be a gold digger."

Ji-a could hear the employees talking among themselves and she was feeling uncomfortable.

"You're making me uncomfortable. Can you please back off?" said Ji-a to Jin, annoyed and went up the elevator upto the CEO's office. Outside the CEO's office, Ji-a was greeted by the CEO's assistant. "Miss Ji-a, the CEO is waiting for you. Please head in."

Ji-a smiled and nodded to the assistant. She went inside the office. Ye Peter was sitting on his chair when Ji-a went in.

"Miss Zhang, you are here. Please take a seat."

"Thank you, Mr. Ye." and Ji-a sat on the couch.

Ye Peter also sat opposite her and said, "Miss Zhang, you have a lot of potentials. I'm highly aware of that. The only reason I called you today was because I wanted to ask you to become my company's lead designer. I'm also planning to expand my business into home decor, furniture and architecture. I also know you're highly skilled in this fields. "

" Mr. Ye, thank you for your kind gestures. But I only design about three or four designs an year and this is enough for me to last a lifetime. I also don't want to work under anyone. I hope you don't misunderstand, Mr. Ye. "

" If that's what you want, can I suggest something, Miss Zhang? "

" Sure. Go on, Mr. Ye. "

" Can my company be the only company to buy your designs, then? Your designs are in high demand in the market and I want my company to be the only company producing the products. I'll be willing to buy the designs more than the usual price. "

" No, Mr. Ye. You don't need to pay me more than the usual but I can sell you all my designs. "

" Thank you so much, Miss Zhang. How about a dinner at my place? "

"We'll think about that later, Mr. Ye. I'll be taking your leave now."

They shook their hands and Ye Peter walked Zhang Ji-a out. Just outside the office, Ye Jin was standing there.

"What are you doing here?" asked Ye Peter.

"Dad, I came long ago. I didn't want to disturb your meeting, so I waited here."

"Mr. Ye, I'll leave now." Ji-a bowed slightly to Ye Peter and left without sparing a glance at Ye Jin.

"Dad, what business did that girl have with you?

" You're too lame to understand. Are you here to ask for money again? " asked Ye Peter.

" Dad, I like that girl. " said Jin, shamelessly.

" Don't you ever think about it? That girl is far too good for you. "

"Who is she?" asked Jin again.

"I buy designs from her. Anyways, don't mess with her. She is such a good girl unlike someone who's already 27 but leaching off his parents. " said Peter, looking at Jin when he said the last sentence.

"Dad!!" growled Jin.

He followed his father into office so that he can find find out more about about Ji-a.

Ji-a went home after her meeting with Ye Peter. Her mom and dad already when to work by the time she reached home. Her grandma was watering the plants.

" Grandma, I'm back."

"Go and get changed. We'll eat lunch."

"Okay, grandma."

Ji-a came downstairs wearing a full-length cotton dress. She set the table and started eating with her grandma. Just then, her phone rang. It was Li-Na.

"Helloooo..."

"Ji, we're invited to Li Yi's banquet and it's today."

"What!! And you're only telling me now." answered Ji-a.

"I was also notified just now. Li said he thought he already told us."

"Wait, what's the banquet about?" asked Ji-a.

"He signed a partnership with Platinum Jewellery. Platinum Jewellery is expanding its business into architecture. Didn't you hear about it?"

"Ohh! I heard that this morning. Mr. Ye didn't mention anything about the banquet though. So, when's the time for the banquet and where is it held?"

"It's 6 in the evening at East Hall. Why don't we go night now to Daffodils for our dresses? I'll come pick you up in half an hour."

"Alright then. I'll be waiting."

"We need to hurry. It's already noon and we haven't sorted anything out. I'm hanging up. See you later."

"Okay."

"Grandma, I need to head out now. I'll call the housekeeper to do the dishes."

"Where again? I rarely see you at home." grandma Zhang seemed unhappy.

"I can't help it grandma." smiled Ji-a.

"Alright, alright."

The Zhangs didn't want housekeepers helping them 24/7 so they had only one housekeeper who worked an hour every day in the morning and would leave after work. The work would consists only of vacuuming the house, mopping and cleaning the lawn so, an hour was enough.

Ji-a went up her room and wore an oversized t-shirt and slim jeans with a sneaker. She tied her hair in a bun.

By the time she finished, Xu Li-Na had already come and was waiting in front of the house.
