22 CH 22: First universe

"(Alright, ready?)" The red slime-like alien, of the race known as Symbiotes, called Chaos, asked his host, Natasha Romanoff. Some time had passed since the SHIELD VS HYDRA drama, and everybody was safe. Except the HYDRA assholes at least.

In the time that had passed, the redheaded host of the Symbiote had used her connection to make a new, temporary cover for herself, rent a room in a nice apartment, and gather everything that was needed for their weird but cool adventure. Things like food, water, a set of extra clothes, and money.

They didn't know where they were going to pop out of, in which universe, or which planet. Chaos's Multiversal Random Teleportation ability was completely random. The only conditions it had were they were going to different Marvel universes only, and almost definitely only to universes where Symbiotes exist and one or multiple are nearby.

But there wasn't anything else. They didn't know which universe they were gonna go to, or even which planet! All they knew was that they were just gonna get teleported to a random universe with Symbiotes in it! The ability was just like an unstable teleporter.

After a deep breath, she exhaled to calm herself down. Then did it again, and again, and again. She had every right to be a little nervous. She had never even been to space before! Yet she was suddenly going to get sent to a completely different universe!

"Yeah, let's go." She nodded seriously, clenching her fist around the strap of her black duffle bag. "(Mhm.)" Chaos hummed before asking :"(Everything is locked and prepared, right?)"

"Yeah, it is. I've checked everything multiple times. Doors, locked. Windows, closed. Curtains, closed. Everything else is also locked. We've also prepared everything in case we get teleported to another planet than Earth."

"(Good... Why don't you check it again?)"

"... Fine. Never hurts to be sure. *Checks the inside of the bag* Yeah, everything is there. But even if we missed something, we're only there for an hour, right?"

"(Yeah. My Multiversal Random Teleportation sends us to another universe for only 1 hour. Then we'll be sent back automatically. I can hold it for maybe about 2 or 3 hours if I try though. Maybe even 5 hours if I push it like a bitch.)"

"No need. We're going there to hunt, not to sightsee. We'll try to find the Symbiote or Symbiotes that we're looking for as fast as possible, eat them, then return. Wait, can you bring us back before the time runs out?"

"(Yes, I can. So if we're in a shitty situation, we can just come back here. Don't worry.)"

"Alright then... *Deep breath* Let's go." Once she took a deep breath and exhaled, he hummed :"(Alright. I'll activate it after the countdown is finished, alright?

Also, close your eyes. I don't know, there might be some blinding light or something. Don't want your eyes to get hurt. Wouldn't really be a problem to heal though. Anyway, let's start.)"

Once she closed her eyes and held the duffel bag tightly, she tried to keep her breathing stable when he started counting :"(3. 2. 1. 0!)"

The moment he activated his power, a comfortable warmth enveloped her entire body, as a red and black light seeped through her eyelids!

She couldn't see it, but a red and black light enveloped her entire body from the outside! To Chaos, it looked just like Albedo from Ben 10 transforming!

But the moment the light faded away, she got a little confused and nervous when Chaos stayed silent :"Chaos? What's wrong?"

"(That...)" He spoke in disbelief, causing his host to frown in confusion :"(... Was it? I thought... Maybe it would be a little more... Dramatic? I don't know, but I expected some more...)" Seeing that they were in a situation where Chaos was joking around, Natasha opened her eyes.

But when she did, her confusion grew even more. As she looked around, her confusion only grew with whatever she saw. She was standing in an empty alley, but she could see the streets as well :"This is... New York... But... Something feels off..."

"(How so?)"

"I don't know... Seems... Old?"

"(Old? ... I feel like I know what's going on... But let's make sure. Why don't you get out of here and look around? Let's vanish.)" As he turned on his Camouflage, she walked out of the alley.

"What the fuck...?" But when she did, her confusion only grew more. Looking around, the city looked just like New York, but just older. Not as in more advanced and in the future, but the complete opposite!

The buildings looked somewhat older and the clothes that people were wearing looked to be from a few generations ago. There was even a guy with a portable music player on his shoulder! With curly hair reaching his shoulders while wearing an armless shirt and some accessories!

"Chaos... Did we travel between universes? Or did we just time travel?" The invisible redhead frowned in pure confusion, before the red Symbiote sneakily picked up a newspaper from a newspaper stand and brought it to her :"(I don't think so. Let's see what's going on in the news.)"

As she grabbed the newspaper, she quickly retreated back into the alley before flipping through it :"The date... The date... Where's the fucking da- Oh, found it. Date, May 1988?! We seriously did just travel in time instead of between universes!"

"(I don't think that's the case. Let's look through the newspaper first.)"

"... Alright, but I don't think... What the hell? Who are these guys?? Spider-Man?? Fantastic Four??? Why is Tony here as Iron Man in 1988??? Just what is going on?????"

"(I don't think we've time traveled... I think we've just traveled to a universe in which the year is 1988." 'But the 80s, huh? Sigh, the good old times of Mary Jane actually being a keeper and a total baddie. That was the time where people could actually ship Peter and Mary Jane happily. Because she wasn't a damn whore that would just break up with him over every little shit and go for someone else in a few days... Bitch.)'

"Oh. Phew... Thank God then. I thought we just got sent to the past and got stuck here..."

"(... You watch a lot of movies. Did you forget the whole part of us being forcibly sent back to our own universe and time after an hour or two?)"

"I didn't forget it. I just got confused and you can't judge me about it. It's the most normal reaction."

"(Yeah, normal reaction for normal people. Last time I checked, we were anything but normal.)"

"*Rolling eye* Yeah, yeah. Whatever. What should we do now?"

"(Well, this is basically New York. Just in a different universe with different superheroes. Those guys, Spider-Man and Fantastic Four, must be some of them. So we shouldn't worry.

*Smirking* Instead, we should hurry up and find our Symbiote buddy. I'm getting hungry at the mere thought of eating another Symbiote after such a long time.)"

"Yeah, you're right. It's not like we have much time to begin with. Let's start looking and find it as fast as possible. Where should we start?"

"(Well, it's at these times where my Symbiote Detection is really useful. Can I take the wheel?)" He asked and she shrugged :"Yeah, sure. Go ahead"

Once he took over and went Symbiote Mode, he immediately shot a tendril at a building building and started swinging away :"(At least the buildings are still tall as fuck.)"

Using his unique ability, Symbiote Detection, he quickly started searching. Following his senses and everywhere his gut told him to do. But since the Symbiote seemed to be hiding inside of his host, and not in a Symbiote Mode, he had a little difficulty finding it.

"(Where is this Symbiote??? We aren't really known for being peace loving. It should've started some sort of chaos by now.)" He frowned, looking around while sticking to a wall.

"Why don't you try something else other than just looking and searching randomly?"

"(Well, what am I supposed to do? I can't just suddenly grow eyes in different parts of the city and search... Wait... I don't need eyes... I am the eyes! How could I have forgotten that?! I have an idea!)" As he smirked in excitement, a tendril came out of his finger and went to the other side of the building :"Yes! It works!"

"What works?"

"(Remember how I told you that Symbiote are just a living full-body receptory system? Basically as in that each individual cell is capable of acting as an eye, ear, mouth, nose, or tastebud?)"

"Yeah, I d- Ooooh. I get what you're saying! So you can basically spread your tendrils around, and check everywhere at the same time with your tendrils acting as eyes and ears for you!"

"(Smart, this is why I like you.)"

"Aww, you flatter me."

"(Hahaha, but first, we should get the high ground so I can spread the tendrils easier.)" <Meme gang, I summon thee!>

"Good idea." His host approved before he started climbing up the tall ass building while still camouflaged. However, just as he passed a window, he saw a redhead hottie walk into the room in an old style lingerie! <Seriously, MJ was a REAL baddie back then! Just check these:>

"(DAAYUUU-!!!)" The words left him unconsciously, but at least he didn't scream it out loud. Otherwise, he would alarm the baddie inside and her man who she came to wake up! But the words were heard by Natasha, who didn't seem to really like that reaction.

"... What was that?"

"(...)"

"Chaos. I asked, what was that?"

"(... What was what...?)"

"That aggressive ass dayum just now. What was that?"

"(... Don't know what you're talking about...)"

"Oh really now? Then was it me who just suddenly went feral when she saw that girl in the lingerie?"

"(... Probably...)"

"..."

"(...)"

"You're lucky we don't have much time. We'll talk about this back at home."

"(... Why?)"

"Maybe because you suddenly lost it when you saw that almost naked girl. Yeah, probably that."

"(... Why do you even care?)"

"... What?"

"(I'm asking why you so hostile about it? It's not like we're dating or anything. I can look at other girls if I wan-)"

"*Aggressively with murderous intent* Do you want to finish that sentence?"

"(... No, ma'am.)"

"Then get. To. Work."

"(Yes, ma'am.)"

And he immediately started climbing up the wall again. But as he was going up, he was curious about that redhead and that man. Yeah, the girl was an absolute hottie. Not as gorgeous as Natasha, but still top tier. But what caught his attention was the man. <ಠಿ⁠_⁠ಠ>

Specifically, what he sensed from the man. Chaos's unique ability, Symbiote Detection, allows him to detect other Symbiotes, but also sense if someone has bonded with a Symbiote! And he could sense that the brown haired young man had bonded with a Symbiote for some time!

He had a guess as to which Symbiote he was after. Thankfully, being a Symbiote, he had an awesome memory. So he could remember that in the late 80s and early 90s, there were only a handful of Symbiotes on Earth. 6 in total.

Four of them were unlikely, because he and his host got teleported into New York and not some other city. Specifically, not San Francisco. So there were only 2 Symbiotes left, Venom and Carnage!
