Once upon a time..

Yu Chen was a small naive girl of 16 at that time. She met him in her first year of high school. She was considered a computer software prodigy and had been given a scholarship to attend the most prestigious high school of the country.

Despite being a genius, Yu Chen was really kind - hearted, always ready to help everyone any way she could. She made many friends in the school, starting from her first week, due to her childlike cuteness and good nature. But she never really felt at ease there, most of the students there were either really rich, who only cared about their looks, or were really cocky prodigies, who thought that they ruled the world.

Though she was disliked by many people, especially girls, as some of the rich ones, who thought themselves as the 'queen bees' of the school, disliked her thinking that she only used to put on an act. But Yu Chen never hated them or said anything ill about them. That's how naive and kind - hearted she used to be in high school.

Yu Chen snapped out of her thoughts when her boss tapped on her work table. He said, "Chen, don't forget about the party. It is most important to us." And went away. Yu Chen sighed. That's right, today they were all throwing a party for their boss, the owner of the company, and his wife, as she was pregnant. Thinking this almost made Chen nauseous. But she pulled herself together and went to see how the preparations were going. She walked into the great hall and saw it was decorated just as she had told them to. Yes, it was done exactly as he would like, with flowers of all different colours and leaves, much more than the flowers. Her colleagues had objected to this arrangement, but she knew, he loved leaves, even more than flowers.

Yu Chen went back to her work station and tried not to think of anything except work. She succeeded and was pretty absorbed in her work when her female colleagues came to call her. They were all leaving to get ready for the party and asked Yu Chen to join. She smiled but politely declined. He hated girls with lots of make-up. Yes he did. That was why she never used to much make-up. Chen finally wrapped up her work and went home to get ready. The party was at 8'o clock, but as she was organising everything, she needed to be there before.

She put on a light blue, long sleeved dress. It was kind of old, but she loved it. It was long and flowing which kind of gave it the look that it was made up of flowing water. Yu Chen thought about leaving her shoulder length hair open, but on second thought, she tried them up. She looked at herself in the mirror, yes she looked exactly like he had described her dream girlfriend. Not too skinny, with hair that were not so long that they would be unmanageable, and a dress which did not show too much skin.

But alas, what was the point. He was already married. Yu Chen sighed and went to the party.
