Lu Chen could easily do what Duan Huiling said. Before Duan Cheng left, Lu Chen told him to give his number to him. He talked with Lu Chen and found some interesting things.

One thing is Duan Cheng recorded the conversation between him and Cao Wei. The number of things Cao Wei said was more than enough to send him to jail for a couple of years.

But Lu Chen didn't want that. Going to jail was too good for him.

He wanted to get even with him.

An eye for an eye.

"Duan Huiling, who was the person next to Cao Wei?" Before Lu Chen started standing in front of the conference room, he was in the security room. He saw how the two walked together and could tell that person was Cao Wei's spy.

"That person is He Tao." Remembering how He Tao continues to follow Cao Wei, she couldn't help but sneer at him. But then her face turns tense.

"Hmm? What's wrong?" Lu Chen tilts his head.

"There isn't much information known about him."That was one odd thing about He Tao. She tried to do a background check on him before, but nothing he could find about him.

'Hmm, a mysterious background.' Lu Chen says, " I'll look into this. You go back to your work." Duan Huiling nods as she walks out of the room.

Lu Chen takes out his phone, "Elder Wu, can you help me look up somebody?"

While Lu Chen was asking Elder Wu for help, Cao Wei was going crazy.

"Those damn snakes!" Cao Wei curses out loud. He couldn't believe he got double-crossed like that. Right now, Cao Wei was calling Duan Cheng, demanding an explanation from him.

However, what he didn't know was that Duan Cheng already blocked the guy's number. All of his calls went into voicemail.

What made it even worse for Cao Wei was that he couldn't cancel the money transfer. Duan Cheng knew that he needed to take the money out as quickly as possible.

"Arrrghh!" Cao Wei's fury hit breaking point as he throws the phone to the ground, breaking into pieces.

Seeing what happened to the phone, He Tao's expression turns pale. After Lu Chen told them they could do whatever they wanted, he followed Cao Wei back to the penthouse.

And the whole way was just pure frustration. In his car, Cao Wei was on the phone, trying to find Duan Cheng. He Tao couldn't say anything. If he did, he felt that he was going to get his head chopped off.

"What are you looking at?!" Seeing how He Tao stared at him, Cao Wei snarls out in rage. But then, a thought came into his mind.

Cao Wei walks up to He Tao and grabs him by the shoulders, "He Tao, I want you to do something for me."

"What do you need me to do?" He Tao jumps up as he says this. He didn't expect Cao Wei to act so calmly now.

Cao Wei smiles as he walks over to a coffee table and takes something out. He hands it to He Tao, "I want you to slip this into Lu Chen's drink." Hiring the guys wasn't the only thing Cao Wei got from Duan Cheng. He also got some dangerous poison from him.

He didn't want to use it at first. Lu Chen had to suffer a slow and painful death.

Now that Lu Chen knows that he's after his life and his first plan failed, Cao Wei wasn't taking any more light-weighted approaches.

He needs Lu Chen to be killed in the quickest and most painful way possible.

When He Tao hears this, his face turns pale, "Don't you think you are taking this too far?" Sending a group of people to attack Lu Chen was already taking it too far.

But Cao Wei was taking it one step further than it should be. If anybody found out, it would definitely be the end of him.

But then,

Slap!

"Shut up! Don't you dare talk back!" He Tao looks up at Cao Wei. But the moment he did, he instantly regretted it.

Pure madness. There was no humanity in Cao Wei's eyes.

Only revenge.

"I was the one who made you who you are today. And it could easily go back to how it was before. Do you want that?" When He Tao hears that, he instantly nods.

He could never go back.

Never.

Taking the bag from Cao Wei, he leaves the house. Cao Wei starts to laugh maniacally.
