1 The unknown girl

"There went another day," said the girl to herself. She sat and looked out over the forest, it was the same place that she had woken up in, a couple of days ago. You could see the sun going down in the horizon, and she considered if she should go back into the cave, or if she should sit a little longer.

She had no idea how long it had been since the sun had disappeared, but the first stars could already be seen. – Could they maybe be the same stars I used to see at home? The girl thought. Her muscles were stiff, and she was having a hard time getting her legs to respond. If someone had seen her, while she walked to the cave, they would have thought she was a cripple. After some time, she could walk normally again.

The cave was dark, and it took some time for her eyes to get used to it. After a while she could see everything clearly. There was not much in the cave. You could see a couple of blankets laying in a pile of branches and leaves. It was the only thing she had found after she had woken up, but also the bag it was in. She sat down on the blankets, her mind drifting away, while looking out of the cave opening.

A couple of days ago everything was normal, as normal as her life could be. The day started with her sleeping over, and therefore she was late for school. It was not the first time it had happened, but this time something felt wrong. There was some underlying anxiety, just boiling under the surface.

She looked into the mirror, and saw a girl with normal height, clothes which were out of fashion and medium long dull coloured hair. Her looks were not something anyone would look twice at, she thought before she took a last look, and went out of her room and down the stairs.

"Luna, if you do not hurry, you will be late!" her mother said. She was standing in the kitchen and drank her coffee, while she looked out of the window. "can you not learn to take responsibility for your own life, and stop going so late to bed. Because of that you just can not get up in the morning." She said with a disappointed tone. – Bitch you can not even take the time to look at me while you look down on me. Luna thought while she walked out of the door.

She slammed the door, and looked at her watch. It was 7:55 am, if she started to run now she would only be 10 minutes late. – It is probably better than not showing up at all. She thought.

She ran from path to path, trying to avoid hitting those who were out on their morning walk, or those who were on their way to work. All the while she could only think of the day when she could move out, have her own place and life. She was looking forward to getting away from the life she was living in right now. And not least to get away from the woman she called mother, and other not so nice things.

As she ran, while being in her own thoughts, she came to the end of the path she was on. Without looking to the sides. Luna just ran. She did not manage to perceive where she was in her route, until the sound of squeaking tires hit her ear. A rush of pain hit her right side. She heard a heart-breaking scream, but was not sure it was coming from herself, or if it was from another person.

Her perceptiveness began to blur and she had a feeling of being locked inside a bubble where nothing was quite clear. – Should it really end like this? My life has not really begun. Can you not just give me a chance to have a life? Luna thought before all the sound disappeared and everything went dark.
