4 The dream: Selene

A slender girl with blond hair sat in front of a mirror. Luna was standing right next to the girl, but the girl could not see her. The girl took the brush from the table and began to brush her long hair.

There was a knock on the door, the girl turned around "Come in and state your errand" she said with a soft and melodic voice. A young girl opened the door, "A letter has come to you, Lady Selene" the maid went over to Selene and laid the letter in front of her.

The maid bowed and walked over to the door after Selene had waved her away. Selene looked down at the letter, which was sealed with a reddish-golden bird spreading its wings.

Luna looked intensely at it from where she stood, it looked like something she had seen before, though not as a living thing, but in a book.

Selene picked up the letter and opened it carefully, reading it quickly after. In the beginning she had a neutral facial expression, but the more she read the more fear could be seen in her face. Before Luna came close enough to see what was written, Selene had put the letter back in the envelope.

She got up and quickly walked over to a closet. Luna did not react quickly enough and Selene walked right through her.

From the closet, Selene took out a bag, a very recognizable bag, Luna thought. She went over to the bed where Selene now stood and stuffed everything into the bag, where there was clearly no room for it all. She put a lot of dresses in it and a few blankets.

She went over to the table and took the letter, then went back to the bag. Luna walked closer to Selene and saw her place the letter in a hidden pocket in the back of the bag. Then she went over to another cupboard and found a dark cloak. She put it on, then took her bag, and hurried out the door.

When they came out of the door, Selene hurried down the hall, and Luna followed. At the end of the hallway there was a staircase. When they had come halfway down it they could hear the screams and the sound of swords meeting swords.

Selene turned around and went over against the wall, here one could faintly sense a crack in the wall. She opened a door that led out to a hallway. It was lit with candles, and there was not the slightest sign of dust, so it was a road that was often used. Selene closed the door behind herself , and began to walk

After walking for a long time, they reached a new door. Selene opened it, and stepped out into a large kitchen. At one end of the room there was an open door, but from there one could hear the fighting noise, so they had to go the opposite way.

Selene opened the other door and they stepped out into a backyard of some sort. She looked around, but there was nothing to see.

Suddenly everything was blurred and Luna was torn away from Selene.

Luna was now in something resembling a castle. Rather, she was not down there like before, but saw it all from above.

The whole thing was very chaotic, and gruesome. There were a lot of masked people with weapons, they were shouting and running around.

On the other side, there were a bunch of people in neat extravagant dresses and suits. They all had a facial expression that was not to be mistaken; they were frightened out of their wits.

A little girl ran over to a door, she ran all she could. When she was almost at the door. A man came leaping out of the shadows. He raised his sword and cut her down. The last convulsions went through her, all the while the man stood laughing. She now lay still on the ground with her eyes wide open, one could see the horror with which she had died.

Luna looked around and the sight that hit her was awful. There were now corpses all over the place, and the masked men were smeared in the blood of their victims.

"Did we get them all?" asked one of the men. He looked around and the other men gathered around him. "We only know when we have gathered them all in one place, but I think we succeeded," said one of the men in the group. "What about the servants?" said the man from before, who was probably their leader.

The other men looked at each other and one started "It did not go so well, a few probably escaped, but I have sent someone out to look around the estate." The leader nodded "place them all in the same place and make sure you can see everyone's faces"

Luna was torn away again.
