5 The dream: Run

She was again by Selene, who was now sneaking around a wall. She kept looking back, and every time there was a sound, she got startled.

They were now at a point where they could see a forest. Luna could see that Selene was relieved, but at the same time you could see that she was scared. Luna understood her, she would now have to leave the safe wall. Selene looked around quickly, but there was nothing to see.

It could be seen that she had to summon the courage to move on. Her heart was right up in her throat, and Luna could feel it all herself. She almost stopped breathing herself, fearing that something would happen to Selene.

Selene started running, but she did not get that far. Something hit her in the back and she fell. A rush of pain hit her and something moist began to run down her back. She could hear footsteps coming towards her, and something heavy was placed on her back.

"What do we have here, the daughter of the gracious Marquees, Lady Selene. The girl all men fall in love with at first sight, but none of them have been allowed to touch." He had a sly voice which was spine-chilling.

While talking , he took her bag and rummaged through it. He quickly lost interest in her bag, and focused again on Selene.

"Maybe I should take a look at the goods and see if you are just as pretty under all the clothes you are wearing."

He tore off her cloak, took out a knife, and began cutting into her dress. Selene tried to fight back, but the man just put more pressure on her back with his knee. She kept fighting back, which resulted in the man turning her around. He now stared directly into her eyes, one could see the madness penetrating his eyes.

The knife got a little too deep one time and she was cut. She tried to endure the pain, but it became too much. A small sound escaped her lips, and one could see that the man began to smile under his mask.

"Maybe we should stop this little game and take the next step." He now began to tear at her dress, and began to laugh.

Suddenly he fell forward, and now lay with a knife in his back. "Get up and run! Hurry up and get away from here!"

Someone shouted, but Selene did not look back for the voice. She took her bag, which now lacked most of its contents, and ran all she could.

Luna looked back, there stood a man looking after Selene. She could not see what he looked like because he was wearing a mask. The mask was different from the others. Theirs was made of some kind of black fabric, but his was made of some kind of solid material.

Luna turned and followed Selene into the woods.

Luna quickly caught up with Selene, she had fallen when she wanted to walk through a bush. Her arms and legs were now filled with wounds and rifts. She struggled up on her legs again, it took some time but eventually she succeeded. She struggled to get away, and was about to fall a few times.

Luna wanted to help her, but when she walked towards her she came to the thought that she could not touch Selene. All she could do was to just follow her.

Something stopped Luna, she could no longer follow Selene. She could just stand and watch as Selene disappeared into the woods.

Some time passed, and something started to pull Luna, and the scene disappeared.
