1 Chapter 0 - [July 16] I Wanna Get Stronger
Entering the world of harmony, it was 1907 a time of golden dawn the awakening of the gifted clashed against the magicians. The gifted was huge in size as it continued to take on numerous forms with a terrifying shadow appearance.
"How dare you mortals challenge me!! I am a god! I am the chosen one!!" The gifted screamed out.
The male magician stood firmly and said, "Beast666!" The magician said his magic name, he held no emotion and was completely focused out of all the ones who held power among his side; he was the one capable of taking on the gifted one.
The gifted one rage on yelling! "Why are you trying to stop me!? I am a god! I can be both! I am the only one that can hold the power to weld both!" The gifted empowered glowing dark blue aura sprouting out wings. The gifted smack it's hand onto the ground as a barrage of wood bursts from out the ground. The radiant substance that cloaked the body of the gifted whose appearance was difficult to identify because of it empowered the wood.
The magician jumps into the air swiftly dodging the charging bark. However he was eventually knocked back upon the ground. Holding the wound from his chest. He struggled to rise back up using his staff as a leverage. Holding himself up with it as a cane. He peered over to the directions of his fallen comrades who laid there on the ground.
"You're not giving in now after how far you've come." The magician turned to his side as a familiar long red hair and silver eyes man appeared.
"Harry Houdini?" The magician confirms in disbelief. "But I thought?"
"I was dead? Yeah it was a close one but I've escaped worst case scenarios. I'm a little offended you thought I was bested."
"Can we save the chatting for later."
"Right you never was one to talk, magist180." The man comments that swifts his black blade with red in crave runes symbols.
"I see, just as expected from you." The fellow magician said to Houdini.
"Not even a little worry that I'm using the Tyrfing, just as I expected of you too, there's just about nothing that surprises you."
"Tyrfing magic sword cursed sword that appears in Norse Mythology that would kill a man when drawn and would eventually kill its wielder. Legends say Svafrlami the king of Gardariki, and Odin's grandson managed to trap the dwarves Dvalinn and Durinn when they had left the rock where they dwelt. Then he forced them to forge a sword with a golden hilt that would never miss a strike, would never rust and would cut through stone and iron as easily as through clothes. The dwarves made the sword, and it shone and gleamed like fire. However, in revenge they cursed it so that it would kill a man every time it was drawn and that it would be the cause of three great evils. They finally cursed it so that it would also kill Svafrlami himself. What you carry is a shard of what's left from the Tales am I correct?"
"Indeed that is but because it's not the full relic and just a fraction the curse is limited." Houdini confirms by taking a deep breath.
"Then you realize the gifted is where fighting is indeed human."
Houdini smirks, then turns his view towards the gifted one, "Here it comes."
The gifted flew towards dashing past them the two couldn't even get a glimpse of its incoming speed. But they did notice the left beautiful aurora light next to them. Snapping its fingers stunning them by enlightened boasting its brightness. Sudden shadow afterimages gust in striking at the magicians. They block down its attacks. Houdini was however unfortunate to keep up and was struck by the real one who had a sword made out of its power.
Houdini who was drawn away from the ground smiled, rubbing his thumb onto his wound, taking a dab of his blood. "Lord spoke to the, I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. What's done in the dark will come to light!" Houdini backflips onto the ground placing his bloody paste hand onto the ground. A blink faded away the light the gifted casted vanished. Afterimages of the gifted was left charging in once more. But Houdini spell was more than a dispel technique, shadow hand stretched out grabbing hold of the afterimages like traps.
"The spell doesn't just clench forth balance between light and dark, but takes control of the guilt, using that as a weapon. It holds mine, his and yours."
A beaming light flash from above as the real gifted one floated into the air. A vacuum of wind blew strongly into the air as above clouds shaped up into an eye. The gifted one's third eye appeared as it grew a wicked smile. "Regrets? Yes I'm guilty that I didn't do this sooner!"
"Checkmate. My spell is complete." Beast666 said, guiding his hand. "Your imprisonment is here!" The magician swift his hands as weapons gathered around the gifted one until eventually the gifted eyesight got so bright everything was white.
A Shoulder length black hair girl immediately woke up her teal eyes staring deeply at the ceiling, "That dream again? Why am I-?"
"Li Mei Xiaodan! You've stayed up all night, haven't you?!" The manly voice said from downstairs.
"Eeeekk!" Li Mei squeals tucking her head halfway into the covers of her bed. She looks up where the television airs an episode of magical powered kanamin. "Oh this my favorite part!"
"I hear you! Come on downstairs already! You don't want these soft delicious pancakes to go cold? Huuuuhhh?"
"Owww Woo okay." Li Mei hopped out of the covers still in her kanamin pajamas running down the stairs. Sniffing the scent of breakfast searching for the smell of syrup.
"Well I see you're up." The overweight man chuckled while pressing in his glasses. "I knew pancakes would trick you to give in."
Li Mei sighs with a growling stomach, she quickly bowed numerous times, "thank you! Thank you!"
"You really don't need to thank me for such things like me buying you clothes yesterday and feeding you today. It's my responsibility as your guardian to provide you with whatever you need."
"But still! Taishiro-dà shū! You didn't have to—"
"I think it's almost cold, I can barely see the steam." Taishiro notes studying the food closer, interrupting her.
"Let's eat!!" Li Mei cried out. She sat down quickly sliding her plate closer. To her stabbing the pancake with her fork.
"Here would you rather eat it in a way that's easier with your fork." Taishiro handed her a knife.
"Right!" Li Mei saids with her mouth full.
"Well hurry and finish that up."
"Hmm?"
"It's your first day at Academy City! You gotta do some sightseeing."
"I guess so," Li Mei said resting her head on her hand. "Though I'm not too exhilarated to see how much of nature they destroy for the city of science."
There's actually a nature park in district 21 so you don't need to worry." Taishiro added. "And trust me you will love Academy City. After all, I didn't tell you everything yet."
"I'll take your word for it Taishiro-dà shū!"
"Hmph, now get dressed you won't be able to get around with that on."
"Li Mei blushes being overwhelmed and embarrassed, covering the parts of her favorite kanamin's face pajamas.
Eventually Li Mei finishes her pancakes and runs upstairs to her wardrobe. "Taishiro-dà shū brought me a bunch of clothes, I guess he thought I'll be embarrassed with my clothes from China. Well," Li Mei smiled spinning to put on a light blue open back sleeve chop top that matches her teal eyes, brown shorts, and Kimmie white sandals from the collection of sandals she had. "ALRIGHTY LETS GOooooo!!" Li Mei jumped up spiritually. She ran down stairs to Taishiro and he smiled to watch her spinning around until she got dizzy.
"Okay, okay, lets go. Honestly you're so full of energy."
The two were finally on the outdoors, Taishiro driving around as Li Mei observers from the window. Still resting her head on her hand. She sighs and saids, "Are we there yet?"
"Wow after all the impressive technology here I still haven't impressed you yet. Hmm, well Academy City; A city that has a general population of two
million three thousand with fully eighty percent of them being students. A city of science, it's what would be called a giant experimental city. Which brings together the forefront of scientific technology.
It's said to be a twenty and thirty years difference between the technology used in Academy City and everywhere else. But that's not all..." Taishiro points to a group of young kids, who were doing the supernatural, using powers, one moves water into the air while the other moves sand in the playground. Li Mei frozen as her teal eyes glitter, towards the kids. "Those eighty percent students that attend Academy City also enrolled in the Power Curriculum Program, an experimental project that developed phenomenal supernatural abilities (Esper powers)." Taishiro smiles looking back at Li Mei. "There's no reason to cry," Taishiro replies to the watery eyes Li Mei. "You can be normal now, you can use those powers that you have and no one will be freaked out."
"Everyones here is just like me. Wait do you have powers!?" Li Mei shouts pushing forward from behind Taishiro's car seat.
"No just the students have esper powers, kids of your age only." Taishiro explains.
"Hmm, that's strange wouldn't it be scary if the students here rebel on the adults?"
"Don't scare me like that, and besides the students are taken care of, it's the teacher and scientist jobs to help students nature and improve their abilities. I'm sure everyone here will be grateful, including you."
"Hmm," Li Mei pondered, holding out her hand into the air as a small spark of energy flowed within her hand creating a light. "So I could possibly do more than make my hands glow, Taishiro-dà shū?"
"Hey Li Mei, can you please stop calling me Taishiro-dà shū We've been together for a week now and we will continue to be for a very, very long time. So just call me Taishiro or ...da-"
"Yes sir!!" Li Mei said quickly, bowing her head numerous times. Taishiro sighs and parks his vehicle near Isobe Bank. "You wanted to show me a bank?!"
"Oh no, I wouldn't expect a child to be interested in a bank, I just need to withdraw some cash and We'll really be on our way." Taishiro said, getting out of the car.
"Do you need me to come too!" Li Mei said sticking her head out.
"No need it'll be quick." Taishiro enters the bank. An hour passed as Li Mei sighs as she tries to wait patiently, failing. She jumped up and said, "What's taking him so long geez!!"
A sudden explosion burst from the doors of the bank, Li Mei's eyes were shook. As three arm robbers escaped from out the doors. "Alrighty we're gonna withdraw hurry up!" The spiky hair robber said to his members for his heist.
A girl with pigtails approaches one of the thugs. The thugs looked down at her and threatened her saying, "Move over little girl otherwise you'll get hurt!" However from a touch of the girl led him to his downfall tumbling down randomly in meters behind her.
"Saying that to me is like a death wish." The pigtails girl comments calmly.
"The skinny thug looked over next to his spiky hair leader alerting, "Boss!"
"Impressive," the spiky hair one noted. "Looks can be deceiving, but I'm no ordinary joe either!" The spiky hair man conjured up a fireball from his hand."
"A pyrokinesis..." The pigtails girl studies the man's power before sighing. She laughs flopping her pigtails upward. "Oh wow what is that? Oh my god I can't believe this amateur."
"Hey do you know what this is?! It's a (level 3)! You should act a little scared!"
"Hmm that power must have required dedication and discipline my guess is... you faced a wall during training, but rather than working harder you convinced yourself that this was enough and quit. When you grew tired of sulking you decided to go astray and do bad deeds." The girl's guess left the man embarrassed with a red face. "Oh did I hit the jackpot? When you give up, that's when everything ends."
"Tch! You little!" The spiky hair man swift his burning hand towards the pigtails girl.
Li Mei cried out "Watch out!" But she stopped staring dumbfounded when the pigtails girl vanished from the man's sight, appearing behind his head performing a signature drop kick. She vanished once more sliding her hands against her black straps. Sudden spikes stick from all ends of the man's clothing to the ground trapping his whole body.
"A teleporter? Wait it can't be?! The rumor!?" The spiky hair man cried out helpless.
The last thug started running solo trying to escape as far as possible. Li Mei got out of the car clenching her fist. She didn't know what came over her but for some reason she didn't want that thug to get away.
"Stop right there!" Li Mei shouts at the man. She quickly sparked up her hands making them glowed blue to the fullest extent. However her attempt was too weak and he shoves her, knocking her over. A chestnut short hair girl in a school uniform, sporting white slouch socks and brown loafers with a light brown vest sweater who noticed from afar sparked up electricity to the point it stocked out her hair.
She walked past Li Mei whose eyes sparkled from the sight of the girl. "Wait here I'll take care of this." She said with her back turned away from her. She pulled out an arcade coin from out her pocket and flick it into the air. As it slowly came down she set her aim on the moving vehicle that the thug jumped in. In a split of a velocity of 1030 m/s (2307.2 mph) a super electromagnetic cannon was fired.
In this city of 2.3 million only seven level 5's exist, she's ranked 3rd most powerful, the railgun Mikoto Misaka.
Mikoto's railgun knocks the car into the air as he crashes onto the ground.
As the crowd gathered Li Mei stood alone as the group of girls along with Mikoto left. Taishiro ran down to Li Mei's aid immediately, "Are you okay!" He held Li Mei tightly, "I'm sorry I got stuck in a-"
"She was amazing! Beautiful, strong, courageous. With one shot." Li Mei mumbles.
"Hmm? Who?" Taishiro looked down at Li Mei anxiously.
"That girl with the brown school uniform. I wanna be like her. I wanna... get stronger."

Z: "It's fine he only push you."
Li Mei: "Now everyone who read the first chapter will just close it afterwards! How am I supposed to be compare to Tedashiii & Fran-kun?"
Z: "Oh relax you still got Vader's viewers."
