Who goes there!

Ashur soon reached the top of the stairs and soon spotted was two guards guarding the entrance gate to the palace, and as soon as Ashur came close, they moved their spears and blocked his way, before they shouted "Halt! Who goes there!"

Ashur did not answer and waited a few seconds before someone suddenly came up the stairs after him, followed by the squad of knights.

"Princess?" asked the two guards.

Instead of Riveria answering, it was knight leader Astin, "Please inform the palace that we have brought back the princess, and along with her savior."

"Saviour?"

Knight leader Astin nodded before approaching the guards and whispered something in one of their ears before that guard ran off towards the palace, and soon after, an old butler with grey hair and a few young maids came out of the palace.

"Princess! We have been looking everywhere for you!" said the butler.

"Sorry Clause, I just wanted to explore a little bit.... and didn't think I would get captured by slave traders..."

"It isn't me who you should be apologizing to princess," said Clause. "Your father is very angry right now."

Riveria was very nervous hearing that her father was very angry, and she knew that she would definitely not getting away scot-free from this.

"And who is this princess?" asked Clause, gesturing to Ashur.

"His name is Ashur, he fought and helped me escape those slave traders, and he is my savior" introduced Riveria.

Hearing this, Clause turned to Ashur and bowed "Thank you for rescuing the princess"

"It was nothing, I would have done it for anyone else!" replied Ashur hurriedly as he helped the old elf up.

To be honest, Ashur was expecting the reception to be a lot worse, and he thought he might even have to fight.

"Nevertheless you still saved her highness, thank you," said Clause before turning to the maids behind him and saying "Please escort mister Ashur to a guest room, and attend to him if there's anything he needs, while I bring her highness to his majesty."

Right after him saying that the maids then approached Ashur and said "Please follow us," and he could only follow the maids obediently as he watched Riveria leave with the old butler.

The maids lead Ashur along the large hallways in silence, before eventually coming to a door and lead Ashur inside.

Inside was a luxurious room with fancy designs with white and gold trim on everything. there was also a chandelier on the ceiling with hundreds of tiny crystals hanging from it, and it to be powered by magic stones. And there was also a huge bed in the middle of the room.

"We hope you have a comfortable stay, and please use this magic item to call us if you need anything," she said, as she handed him a small bell with a wooden handle.

"I will," said Ashur as he saw the maids leaving and was soon left with him and Ene.

"Master! This room is super luxurious!" said Ene as she looked across the room.

"It is, I wonder if all the rooms are this luxurious," said Ashur, as he thought that this room was like a work of art.

After admiring the room for a few moments, Ashur got onto the bed.

"Master, are you going to bed?" asked Ene.

"No, I am going to finish meditating," said Ashur as he crossed his legs and as he was about to close his eyes, he was suddenly interrupted.

"NOOO!! Please, Master! I can't go through that again! Please don't do it!"

Ene was dizzy just thinking about what happened not long ago.

Ashur could only scratch his head as he looked at her apologetically.

"Relax, that only happened because I was not paying attention, it won't happen again!"

Ene looked at him suspiciously before asking "Really?"

"Really! Well...Probably..."

"What was that?" asked Ene, as she didn't really catch what he said at the end, because he spoke in a really low voice at the end.

Suddenly a smile spread on Ashur's face as he said "What I said was, you're really pretty Ene."

Ene was taken off guard and didn't know how to respond before she suddenly blushed and shouted "Don't tease me!"

"What do you mean teasing? I meant every word!" said Ashur with a look as if he had been wronged.

"Just go and meditate!" shouted Ene as she hid her blushing face with her oversized sleeves.

Ashur agreed and decided to stop teasing Ene and no longer delayed.

Quickly closing his eyes, he started to meditate.

After an hour of Ashur meditating, a knock suddenly resounded from the door, and Ashur's eyes slowly opened.

"Come in."

Getting permission to enter, a brown-haired maid walked in, while holding something in her hands.

"His Majesty heard that you were hurt while saving princess Riveria and sent this over," said the maid as she presented him a vial with purple-colored liquid inside.

"What's this?"

Having no clue what he presented with, and could only look at the maid with a questioning gaze.

"This is a potion, if you pour it on your body, it will recover injuries and your health" she explained.

'So it's a HP potion then?'

"Thank you"

"Your welcome, but please do not thank me, as it was his majesty who asked me to give this to you," she said.

"But didn't you bring it to me? I'm thanking you for that" said Ashur.

"Your thanks is not needed, it's just my duty," she said. "If there is not anything else, I will be taking my leave."

"Wait a second!" Ashur suddenly stopped her.

"What is it?" she asked.

"I was wondering if there was any way I could have a bath?"

He was very dirty. With his face and hair being the dirtiest.

His clothes were also tattered and ripped in several places, and his face was a bit bruised from being kicked in the face, and he looked just like a street beggar. He was also surprised no one said anything at all about it since he entered the palace. Though, was possibly because Riveria looked only a little better than him and they hadn't brought it up just to be polite.

"You want to take a bath?" asked the maid.

"Yeah, I was wonder if that was possible?"

"Certainly, if our guest wishes so, I shall prepare a bath immediately, just wait a few minutes," she said.

After the maid left, Ashur looked at the potion that he was handed and pulled out the glass bottle stopper from the vial, and then poured the liquid over his head.

Immediately, he felt the pain from his body slowly go away and felt extremely comfortable and the liquid seeped into his body.

"Amazing!"

it seemed that potions like the one he just used were really useful, and he noted to himself that he should pick some up in the future.

"Guest, the bath is now prepared," said the maid as she entered inside.

"Great! Let's go!"

He could really use a nice relaxing bath right now.

"Please follow me then," she said before leading him down the hallway towards the bath.

Soon after, they came to a doorway and the word {Bath} was right above it.

"We're here, is there anything else you need?" she asked.

"No, that's everything" Ashur replied.

"Then please enjoy your bath, I will go and prepare a set of clothes for you when you get out," she said.

"I will, and thank you," said Ashur as she saw her walking away.

As he entered inside the doorway, he noticed that he entered a changing area with many baskets on a rack on one side, this was to store clothes and towels for before and after a bath.

Ashur soon started undressing after entering, and after he finished getting undressed, he grabbed a towel and opened the door to the bath.

After entering, he did not immediately get into the bath, but after finding some soap, he started to clean all the dirt and grime on his body and especially his hair as it was full of dirt, before walking over to the hot bath and going inside.

Meanwhile, Ene was bored out of her mind as she was left alone inside the room, and could only talk to people in the chat room because there is no such thing as the internet in this world.

what she usually did to pass the time since coming to this world was either talk to people in the chat room, talk to Ashur or Riveria, or just silently watch, and it was not like she could ask him 'Please bring me with you' into the bath.
