8 To The Capital City, Filia
The sound of carriages creaking was heard as I walk out of the academy gate, and stare at the beautiful blue sky.
"The Capital City, Filia, I wonder what kind of place it is"
I said cheerfully.
Around four years ago, I was transported to this magnificent world, by Ezza.
The minimum age to become an adventurer is 18. Right now I'm 17 years old, so one more year I'll finally graduate from the academy, and get my adventurer license.
Apparently, more than 80% of this world hasn't been discovered yet, so it's the adventurer's job to uncover it.
Right now, the entirety of class 5 is currently on a field trip to the capital city of this country, Fila.
"Oi, Chrono!"
I turn around to the call, and see Orfia who is holding her giant luggage, and Tero who is waving at me, while holding his, small in comparison, luggage on his other hand. They were standing besides a carriage.
I walk towards them.
"Yo! Is this the carriage that we're taking?"
Orfia nodded in response to my question.
"Yep, but before that... What the hell is with this gigantic luggage!"
Tero shouted at Orfia's luggage.
"How many items did you bring? This is just a 3 day 2 night trip, do you really have to bring this much?"
Orfia turn around to look at Tero with a 'what are you talking about?' face.
"This much is normal, it is to prepare ourselves when a disaster happen, I would like to bring more, but then the luggage won't fit inside the carriage. I am surprised about how small your luggage is, did you really bring everything you need?"
Orfia explained nonchalantly.
"You're surprisingly prudent, and also, yes I did bring everything I need with me, like clothes, soap, and weapon incase of an emergency"
"Naive, what would you do if a blizzard happen? Or if we got robbed by bandits? Or even worse, the city suddenly got attacked by hordes of powerful monsters"
"Blizzard only happens in winter, it's the middle of spring right now, there's no way a blizzard could happen, and we'll be sleeping in an inn so bandits won't attack us, also that last one is impossible, even by the less than 1% chance that it would happen, the city has strong defense so we won't have to worry"
Orfia looks away.
"That is why I said you're naive"
She said quietly.
"Now now, it's nice to be mindful about the future, but everyone has already left already"
Orfia, and Tero looks around after hearing my words, and quickly get inside the carriage that I'm already inside.
"Why didn't you tell us sooner?"
Tero yelled at me, as Orfia nodded rapidly.
"Well, I didn't want to interrupt your chat"
I smiled gleefully.
The carriage quickly moves after they got on board, and heads to Filia.
A few moments later...
"Ugh..."
Tero grunted as he covers his mouth
"What's wrong?"
I asked worriedly
"I'm... Not good with vehicles"
Orfia heard what he said, and reach out both of her hand
"One of the many rulers, grant me your power, and heal those who are in pain"
At this moment Tero's body started to glow a faint white light
"Huh? I... Don't feel sick anymore"
"Orfia, was that light magic?"
I was surprised, light magic is very hard to use because, unlike the other magics, light magic doesn't need a magic circle, instead it is used from the power of the sun.
"Yes, once you know how it works, it's very easy to use"
Tero and I stares at Orfia, impressed by her talent.
A few hours later...
"Mmm, we made it at last!"
Tero gets out of the carriage, and streches his body.
"That took longer than expected"
Orfia said as she struggles to get her bag out.
I, who was still inside the carriage, pushed the bag out, and cover the top of my eyes as the light from the sun hinders my vision.
I slowly put my hands down as I saw the Capital for the first time.
Unlike Cyrus, which is crowded with market stands, the capital is more modern with stores, bakery, and even a blacksmith.
"Is this your first time in the Capital?"
Orfia asked me
"Yeah, the world I was from was very different than this, so I don't know how to react"
I already told Orfia and Tero that I was from another world so I don't need to lie about it.
"OOORRRFIAAA!!"
Aldo was screaming Orfia's name as he ran towards us.
After seeing him, Orfia quickly search her bag, and took out a kitsune mask.
"Orfia? Huh? Hey Chrono, you're in Orfia's group right? Where did she go?"
He asked me about the woman besides me, who is wearing that mask.
How easily fooled are you?
"Eh? Ah, if you're looking for Orfia, she went to the toilet"
I said nervously, as Tero stared at masked Orfia.
"Who's this?"
Not you too!!
"Hmm? Now that you said it, who is she?"
Aldo and Tero begin interrogates me
Orfia couldn't say anything because Aldo will quickly realize that it's her.
"What are you two saying? This is..."
I look around me for a fake name.
"Lesta!"
I saw a store named 'Lesta's future predictions' and went with that.
I winked at Tero hoping he would take a hint, while Aldo stared at masked Orfia.
"Lesta? Did we know someone named Lesta?"
YOU FUCKING IDIOT!!
"Haha, what are you saying Tero? Didn't you remember? She's the one that got us that bread in the cafeteria that one time"
Tero holds his chin and tried to remembered.
"Ah! Orf-"
I quickly shut his idiotic mouth with my hands, and whispered:
"Be quiet!"
Tero nodded quickly, because he couldn't breathe.
I turned around and saw Aldo, who is trying to take off her mask.
"Aldo!!!!"
I suddenly screamed very loud, and caught the attention of everyone around us.
"W-what?"
Aldo was surprised by me, who yelled out his name for no reason.
"Orfia went to that bathroom right there!"
Aldo, wasting no time, quickly ran off to the bathroom I pointed at.
"Phew"
I let out a sigh of relief
"What was that Chrono?"
I stared at the idiot who couldn't take a hint.
"What is it? Is there something on my face?"
"Yes, it's called stupidity, also, let me tell you this, Aldo is madly in love with Orfia, and as we already know, the feeling isn't mutual, so we shouldn't let Aldo be around her"
"Hmm... I see, alright I'll be careful"
This guy just completely ignored me calling him an idiot.
