10 Re-forged and re-armed

(A/N Notes: The next chapter won't be about crafting, I swear)

"Okay! I got my new ax, tomahawk, and bow. Now, what do I craft next?... I can work on some iron boots for kick or a new polearm... ... ... re-forge my mask so that it can filter gas? Hmm... It's a possibility... Some upgrades in my current gear are a necessity, and maybe try to find some good wood for a new shield... Yeah, let's start with the polearm"

Red looked at the recipes he currently had unlocked, and none of them caught his attention

"Let's ask googol-sensei then... Polearms, and search...Humu humu... War scythe? Aren't those the things those fantasy reapers have? Nope, these are true war scythes and are way cooler. alright! I'm going to make a war scythe! The correct one!"

Then he proceeded to make a wat scythe with the scrap metal he had, to unlock the recipe, and he then went to make the actual war scythe he was going to use

"Let's use the fiery magic steel for this one"

He used his remaining magic steel to make the war scythe

"And donezzo!"

[War scythe of flames: The attacks of this war scythe are able to burn its enemies and capable of coating itself in flames when used continuously

Special ability: Fiery steel (When an opponent is hit by this weapon it deals additional fire damage equivalent to 1/3 of the damage dealt, there is a 50% chance every hit of this weapon applying the burning status at the opponent)

Coats of flames (Every 6s there is a 15% chance of an attack triggering this ability when activated this weapon coats itself in flames, making every attack receive 2x of damage, and the fire damage passes to give the same amount of damage as a normal attack if this weapon leaves combats with this effect active, the ability just wear off after 3s)

+64 damage/Quality: 9]

Then he went outside to do a little test-run with his War scythe on the dummy target

"Ha! Haya! Hyaaaa! *Stabs the scythe on the ground* Sorya! *Spins the war scythe by kicking it* Hyayayaya! *consecutive fast thrusts*"

And then the war scythe coated itself in fire

"Woah!"

And after a moment of surprise, he went back on testing the weapon this time with it on flames

"Hey! This is pretty good"

And after feeling satisfied with the weapon's performance, he went back into the workshop, now to work on his steel boots

"First of all, I need a good design that is has good ergonomics, offense, and reliability. And maybe make it customizable for adverse situations"

Then he began doing the design of the boots

"spikes at the soles and at the top part of the toes... Hmm, A blade to the side? *Looks at his own foot* Nah, it would be useless... Then maybe claws or some sort of a hidden blade or none... And a protrusion at the heel... *Nodding* Yes, this is an acceptable design"

Then he began working on his leather boots upgrades, since the base was already there, so he focused on working on the metal parts

Timeskip

After IRL hours, he finally managed to upgrade his boots to a decent amount

"It looks pretty darn good, in my opinion"

[Reinforced steel leather boots: These leather boots were reinforced with steel parts giving it more protection and offensive capabilities

"Now work on increasing the stats of the rest of my equipment, and giving this mask some gas protection"

And with that, he reinforced all of his equipment and gave his mask a gas filter, and used most of his remaining metals to make arrowheads, while saving some for the shield

[Black gas mask: This mask contains a gas filter, allowing the user to not be affected by status effects caused by smokes and smogs

Special ability: Gas protection (The user is immune to status effects caused by smoke and smog)

"Alright, now that I'm done with crafting, for now, time to do some actual field test of these bad boys"

He left the workshop and refunded the money for the time he hasn't used from his reserve, and went to the plains to do some hunting

*One-shot a wolf* *one-shot a goblin* *One-shotting a bunch of monsters*

"... Wow!... This bow is way better than I expected, now let's test the close-range ones"

And he spotted a group of goblins, then dashed towards them, and started the battle with a dropkick on one of the goblins, then he swung his ax at another goblin killing it with a hit-kill, and now that he wasn't limited to the attack recovery system, he changed to the war scythe and attack another goblin in quick succession also killing it, and finally, the goblin that was kicked got out from its stun status and tried to attack, only to receive a tomahawk to the face and dropping useless items at its defeat

*Retrieves his tomahawk* "So far so good, now time to test the yoyo and talismans"

And he did so when he tested the yoyo, he found it...

*Miss* *Miss* *Miss* "JUST HIT THE F*CKER ALREADY!!!"

Really hard to control, and weak, compared to everything else that he had, but since he knew it could obtain the restraint skill from it he still decided to keep, and as for the talismans...

"... How do use these things?"

He had no idea how to use it

"... Ha!" *Throws the paper*

The paper slowly fell down and landed safely on the grass, then the patch of grass started to burn because the talisman contained fire magic inscribed on it

"... *Opens the talisman skill tree*... Oh... I will only be able to send these things flying on level 5, huh?... Then how do use this thing now?"

Then he noticed a strong monster slightly away from him, and he tied a talisman on the arrow and shot it at the monster, and the monster started to burn

"Yeah, this is a viable way...! *Notices a rabbit near his feet* ... *Slaps a talisman on the rabbit*"

The rabbit suddenly caught fire, and it began running around

"This is also a viable strategy"

Then the monster died because the arrow had taken most of its HP already, and so did the rabbit, giving his talisman skill enough XP to level up by 1 level

"(Sigh) This is going to take a while... Might as well just make a bunch of explosive talismans then"

This time he would be busy farming for XP
