1 The Memories Of A Broken Knight

He was a man, a man worth billions. Yet he never owned any of it. He gave almost everything he made away when he made it. All of it going to an anti-depression charity he earned many prizes for it but he didn't care about those. He just wanted an answer "Why do I feel empty?" Nobody could answer why. It was as if since birth a part of him truly was missing. Yet he still had hope. He wanted to kill himself many times. But he didn't. It would make his parents distraught. Maybe they weren't the best parents. But no parent deserved to have there child die before them. But yesterday his father died. Both parents now dead. He truly had nothing to live for. And so he decided "I am going to die my way." He went to his only couple of possessions. What he looked for was the only thing he bought which was from an anime. His main passion anime had many cashtraps yet he only ever bought one thing. A lance. But it was the size of a sword and could be used as one if needed due to it being sharp and made of steel. It was Rhongomyniad from the Fate series. He didn't know why but he felt connected to the lance ever since he first saw it. And so he commited perhaps what a samurai would count as sepukku. He stabbed himself in the heart. He let himself die. He might never have been a happy man. But atleast he could die to something he felt attached to. And so he did. He died.

A burning light hit his eyes. He rubbed his eyes and opened them. Even though it wasn't as light as his light-deprived eyes thought it was still only seemingly a box with white light walls. Weird he felt deja vu. "Number 3 it seems." 'huh' that was his thought "Are you deaf?" the same voice asked again. "No I'm just wondering what number 3 is and why this place seems so familiar." He answered as he sat up crosslegged still wiping his eyes a bit. "Familiar huh?" the man asked and under his breath he added "Second time this week" then speaking properly again "Let's look at your past." The man brought out a tablet and searched something up. "That is oddly amusing." He almost seemed to chuckle. "What's oddly amusing?" he asked the man "It just seems like your family seems to remember this place" the man responded "Wait you mean my father or mother came here aswell?" He asked almost feeling something other than apathy "Not the ones you remember but yes" The man said. That was odd he remembered his parents. His 'slightly' alcoholic accountant mother and his childlike father who was an IT manager in a royal lab. "The ones I don't remember?" He asked more than slightly confused "Yes the ones you don't remember" The man said "Can you make me remember them?" He asked the man "Now why would you assume that?" The man asked slightly amused "1. I died and then i see you, sounds like a god from a cheesy isekai LN or FF. 2. You brought them up. 3. You look old and wise, I learnt that old wise looking men are usually old and wise" He said listing them off on his fingers as he said so "Yes i can make you remember but are you sure?" The man asked him "I might not be me when i remember but they were my parents. No parent deserves their child not to recognise or remember them" He said in return. He collapsed.

He remembered his first life. The bastard son of King Arthur and Morgan le fae. (ima spell it fae not fay as it's the way i learnt to spell it at first and i believe is the proper spelling) His childhood was a bit more than just rushed as a homunculi he only had three years to live at first but his prana was abundent. But in his first two years of life he started to idolise his father, a couple months later with use of skill power and speed it was enough to impress the knights of the round table and for him to join them on their round table. Just mere moments after joining Merlin asked to see him alone. He wasn't shocked when he heard this. It was inevitable after all she was the best mage ever. Better than even his mother. So when Merlin asked him what and who he was he revealed himself. Mordred Penndragon bastard son of Arthur and his sister who made him with arthurs sperm making him a Homunculi. When Merlin heard this she was sorry for the boy who never felt true love. She took him under her wing and even found a way for him to live a normal person's life span. To slay a dragon and to bathe in it's blood. Merlin also found him a way to do it. A prototype Excalibur simply known as Protoexcal. It was red accented where his fathers was blue. Silver Trimmed where his fathers Gold. Black Bladed where his fathers Gleaming Steel. Merlin even found him a dragon he could slay. It was not an epic battle not one that needed a story nor ballad. He surprised the dragon which Merlin later said "Well that was rather unknightly of you" And then he used mana burst and his new sword to slay it. He bathed in it's blood like instructed. He was finally free of his curse.

Afterwards he followed Merlin everywhere. Gallahad and Kay even joked it was as if she was the mamma hen to a chick To which promptly Merlin responded by zapping both of them. He was just confused by it. After all he knew was fake love and fighting. Merlin started teaching him true love. She also taught him about the world. The world he never knew. Months passed in this fashion. She said she taught him all she could. Which was true from a magical point of view he seemed to be a sponge when it came to magic and fighting. But perhaps he did not know of the world as much as she thought. But she did ask him one simple request for all this knowledge she gave him "Tell your father of your origins" Merlin thought it was best for the knight who she thought of as a son, she wanted him to feel the love of a true parent something she never felt herself. But she was wrong about one thing that Arthur would love the boy. When he told his father, Arthur responded in disdain instead of love. Arthur would regret this later on in his lives but that is another story. The boy emotionally wounded decided to go to his mother. But after she saw him still alive she reacted even worse than her brother. That was when he decided that if his parents would not love him maybe the people might.

Soon a name ran through the land 'The black bladed hero'. The people did not truly love him like they loved his father though. That's when he realised he wanted to be king. So he begged his father he hated doing so but if it meant he felt love he did not care. Every time his father simply ignored him or got him to go slay a monster terrorising this or that village. Soon he got bored of waiting so he decided to take the crown. He rallied an army of knights displeased with Arthur. He did not care that these knights were displeased with his father because they were 'let go of' for unknightly behaviour. When they came face to face with his father's army. They were slaughtered. However he did not care. He battled his hardest leaving only him and his father on the battlefield. His father wielding Rhongomyniad. They clashed his Protoexcal against Rhongomyniad Yet his blade flew out his hands for he was a murderer no longer the dragon slayer or hero but mass murderer. That's when his father struck him down. Arthur's Rhongomyniad straight thought his heart. Or should it rather be stated. Through Mordred's Heart. Even though when he died he was a villain he still did too much good for it to be out weighed in karma's eyes so he requested one thing, 'I wish to have a true family'. And that was what he was granted.

A/N: If You want to read that story about arthur here's the link https://www.webnovel.com/book/12036023805806905/A-Knight's-Will. Also Please don't hate this Coraulten Senpai I thought it could be interesting to write this as it's a story about your arthur's mordred and how his life parallels his fathers in some ways so yeah.
