1 Chapter One - Childhood

In kindergarten at Pasig Elementary School, Jonathan P. Carlos a smart and happy boy started to think about what he really wants to be in the future. That day their whole class will be having a recitation of what they want to become in the future. He was so nervous about what he is going to say in front of the class, and then his best friend David B. Silang a playful and supportive best friend, is fast approaching and he nodded to him.

"Jonathan, Are you ready for today's recitation?" the boy asks him nicely.

"No David, I'm not sure what to say about this, I might mess it up in front of the class." he bowed his head in front of his best friend.

"Cheer up my friend I know you can do it." he taps the shoulder of Jonathan, and they went to their classroom.

The class started at 8 am due to morning rush hour traffic and some of their classmates came late, and Theresa M. Rivera came in lastly. Jonathan had a crush on Theresa, she had a beautiful smile and her eyes are dark brown. Every time Jonathan look at her, he blushes and David teases him to Theresa. Then Miss Shana Z. Reyes asks her whole class to settle down for the upcoming recitation.

"Alright class please go to your respected seat's, the class is about to start. Are you ready for the recitation for today?" the entire class answered back.

"Yes Miss Shana, we are ready." Miss Shana called her pupils one by one until Jonathan is up for the recitation.

"So Jonathan, Are you ready for today's recitation?" she asks him.

"Yes Miss Shana!" he stands up and fistbump his best friend wishing him good luck and then he goes in front of the class.

"Good morning everyone, My name is Jonathan." he's classmates replied.

"Good Morning Jonathan." he's classmates is looking at him and then he notices that Theresa is looking at him. He blushes and put his 2 hands in his pocket.

"Jonathan, What do you want to become in the future?" Miss Shana asked Jonathan. "I want to become a successful businessman someday. So that I can help my parents," he vowed and his entire class clap at him, then he goes back to his seat beside his best friend.

"You nailed it, Jonathan. I told you that you can do it." his best friend smile and looked at his hands, then he notices that his palm is sweating.

"Are you nervous while reciting?" he asks Jonathan.

"Yes I was nervous about messing it up in front of the class but I did it." he smiled at his best friend.

After a few moments, Theresa was up for the recitation. Jonathan is looking at her face and how beautiful she was.

"Jonathan! Are you ok?" David asked Jonathan.

"Yes, I am, looked at her she is so beautiful and cute." he blushed.

"Theresa, What do you want to become in the future?" Miss Shana asked Theresa.

"I want to become a Doctor. I want to help those people who are in need of medical care," she vowed and went back to her seat while the entire class was clapping.

"She was amazing!" Jonathan said while staring at her.

Afterwards, the bell rang it's break time. The whole class took a break, Jonathan and David went to the school canteen and went to the school park to eat their snacks. While sitting down under the tree David notices that Jonathan is looking at Theresa.

"You really like her, don't you? Don't just sit here looking at her, go out there and talked to her." his best friend then stood up and put his hand under his shoulders pulling him up to stand.

"Hey! don't do it, you know how shy I am when she is close to me. I don't want her to see me blushing." he madly said to his best friend.

As Jonathan was on his feet he started walking towards Theresa, then he waves at her.

"Hi, Theresa. How are you?" he asks nicely.

"I'm fine, you are Jonathan, right? I've heard you want to become a businessman." she smiled while asking.

"Yes, I was. When I'm all grown up. I want to help my parents." he answered while staring at her. And then the bell rang the break time is over.

Going back inside their room Jonathan and Theresa accompanied each other while David is behind them. As they enter the room, Jonathan waits for David while Theresa goes to her respected seat.

"David, walk faster! I think you are next for the recitation," he shouted while in front of their room.

David runs towards him and then they came in their room and go to there respected seat. After a while, David was called for the recitation, and he stood up then walk in front of the class.

"David, What do you want to become in the future?" Miss Shana ask David.

"I want to be a Military Officer. Who serves our country and defend the people I love." He vowed and then he goes back to his respected seat while the whole class js clapping.

"You did great my friend." Jonathan smiled and fistbump with his best friend.

"Thank you, my friend. I thought I'm going to mess it up, I'm so nervous in front while our classmates are listening and looking at you." he looks so intense than Jonathan after their recitation.

"Alright class our recitation has ended. Class dismissed see you tomorrow." Miss Shana told the class and everyone was so excited to go out.

Meanwhile, after the class was dismissed, Jonathan and David were walking towards the gate of the school where their school service was waiting for them, and they say goodbye to each other. Then Jonathan saw Theresa waiting for her school service to arrive. He wants to approach her but his school service is waiting for him. He then calls the attention of Theresa. "Theresa! See you tomorrow!" while shouting he is waving at her and Theresa wave back to him and smiled.
