3 Chapter 3

After Rougue woke up once again 5:30 Rougue felt soreness in his body that was even worse than yesterday. he could barely lift a finger without feeling pain let alone his entire body. He slowly got up and made himself the same breakfast as yesterday before getting dressed for school.

Although there was still 2 hours until school Rougue didn't feel like he could carry out any smithing without pulling a muscle so he decided that wouldn't smith until this hellish week was over. Rougue walked over to a bookcase and pulled out a book titled "Beginners Metallurgy" It had been sitting in his bookcase for a while now so he thought he might as well read it.

Opening the book it gave a brief introduction on what metallurgy is. If Rougue were to sum it up it would be 'How metals mix with other metals to make alloys' For example if you take steel and then mix it with nickel you would get an alloy that has increased strength and a slight resistance to corrosion.

Rougue took a notebook out and flipped through at least a hundred different pages that were filled with notes from top to bottom before he found a page that was clean enough to write on. Although all of the notes he took might look messy to others as long as he memorized where the notes were on a page he could easily make out where everything was. He quickly started to write notes in a small corner on the page on how different metals would help out and strengthen others. He put his pen down after 10 minutes and another small section on the page was filled with notes.

'I wonder what Alloys I could make with New age metals.'

Rougue said in his mind. Since Mana was discovered in the world and many things started to evolve earths materials also started to evolve and new ones appeared like Mithril and Orichalcum. His thought process was soon interrupted as he realized that he needed to get to school. He left his house and once again arrived at school.

After arriving at the school building he walked to his homeroom class. Rougue homeroom was Magic class, which was taught by Aldes Martel, an old man that was in his 70's. Although he was pretty old he was actually a pretty outstanding mage when he was younger as he reached the fifth circle.

When Magic class was over Rougue then headed for the Combat Class and was about to enter before a shadow was donned onto him. Looking at who it was he sighed in his heart.

"Do you need something Ryner?"

Ryner was leaning against the frame of the door leading into the classroom while glaring at Rougue. He was obviously mad at him for what happened two days prior bur Rougue pretended not t notice his anger.

"You little brat! Who said you could talk to me?"

Rougue wanted to roll his eyes into the back of skull if could but didn't as it would only serve to make Ryner even more angry.

"You stood in front of this door blocking my entry into the classroom so I thought you would need something from me."

Ryners fists clenched for a moment and slowly stood straight up from his leaning position.

'Clench your teeth and take the punch if he hits you, don't fight back.'

Rougue thought he about to be punched but instead the shadow left the doorway and another was donned over him from behind. Turning around slowly he saw Instructor Warwick staring at him, his face froze immediately.

"What are you doing Student Rougue?"

"U-Um I was a little late arriving to class."

"Is that so? Get to your seat."

"Yes sir!"

Even though Rougue wasn't that afraid of Ryner punching him he still wouldn't want to mess with Instructor Warwick, he also didn't mention Ryner was blocking the door because he didn't wan't Ryner to do the same thing and have Warwick train him even harder than last time.

In Instructor Warwicks class he once again went over the fundamentals of combat. Bored Rougue started to think about the combinations of metals and different materials.

'If you took steel and mixed it with a dragons claw what would happen?'

A dragons claw. Even though it was an organic material it was stronger than steel and more durable than it. Many people would just use the dragons claw to forge a weapon because the claws strength would get weaker if combined with steel, but what if you only use a piece of a dragons claw? The steel strength would skyrocket!

Eventually Rougue was immersed in his ideas and no longer paid any attention to Instructor Warwicks lesson.

"During Combat you would nee-"

Instructor Warwick turned around in the middle of a stick figure drawing on the screen in the front of the class to explain to the class what it was doing. When he saw Rougue dozing off while looking out of the window next to his seat he stopped talking. He then opened a drawer in the desk at the front of the class and took a marker out of it. Uncapping the marker he pulled his arm back and then launched the marker towards Rougue.

THWACK!

A very loud sound was let out as a result of the marker hitting Rougue directly on the forehead. Rougue wasn't even in his seat anymore he flew out of his seat and landed on the floor a few feet behind his desk.

"Ow, what happened?"

Rougue looked around for a moment and realized he had been dozing off during instructor Warwicks class. Rougue lost color in his face as he got up and picked up whatever remained of the marker that hit him.

"Student Rougue! You have "Special" Training to do with me after school!"

Instructor Warwick yelled at him at the front of the class. Everyone else in the classroom and those who were wandering the hallways outside that heard what he said Instantly paled.

Rougue didn't speak and he returned back to his seat. He then proceeded to stare at the front of the class wholly paying attention to Instructor Warwicks lecture this time.

"Now as I was saying, During combat you would need to..."

Instructor Warwick then continued his lesson on combat without any issues and interruptions this time. The classes usually last for around an hour and thirty minutes passed by before the bell had rang signaling that class ended.

Rougue grabbed his bag from his desk and left the class. His next class was actually his favorite as it was the craft class. The craft class gave a rudimentary beginning to most of the basic crafting classes like Alchemy, Smithing, Carpentry, Stone masonry, Etc.

The teacher for the craft class was Orval Lund, a rather robust man that was a Carpenter. Whenever he went over Carpentry he could answer almost all questions the students had for him but when it came to most of the other subjects he could only answer vaguely. His solution for this was to get students from the class that knew about the fields he didn't and that were rather confident with what they knew to answer the questions he couldn't.

Needless to say that Rougue knows everything about the basics of smithing so he was chosen as the person to go to for smithing related questions. Rougue felt rather proud when people asked about smithing because it was a profession that many people would try and avoid being not because it was a bad job but mainly because it was too repetitive for them. To them all you did was hit a piece of metal with a hammer but to Rougue it was a melody that was different every time.

Rougue arrived at the craft class and sat in his seat waiting for the teacher to arrive. Usually the instructors would arrive after the students to give them time to sit in their seats and talk with their peers before class. Soon 5 minutes passed, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30, 40...

"Where's the instructor?"

A student who was also waiting for the instructor to arrive said this. Soon after it was asked footsteps came from outside the door and a short man walked in and faced the class.

'Who's this? I've never seen him before.'

Rougue looked at the short man confused, he had never seen this man at the school bu then again he never really paid attention to his surroundings at school while walking to classes. The man in question was around 4'11 and had curly red hair. He wore a pair of glasses and his face was like that of a childs.

"Ahem, students I apologize for this but the Craft teacher would not be able to make to class today and for the following week due to an accident while coming to school."

A student raised hand after hearing what the short man said.

"Yes?"

"Who are you?"

The student said this while staring straight into the mans eyes. The man looked hollow after this was said but slightly recovered.

"I'm your school principal."

"We have a principal?"

The man put his hand on his forehead and sighed as if he wasn't expecting this to happen. Nobody in this school had actually seen the principle. The older students might have but they had already gotten their classes and skills.

'I never expected the craft teacher to have an accident, he seemed like a rather careful person from what I know.'

Rougue thought.

"That is all, the class has to stay in here while school continues, as for what you do just make sure the class the is clean."

After saying this the man left the class and the class had an outrage.

"We had a principle?"

"I thought the principal would be tall, but I didn't think he'd be short."

"I wonder what kind of accident Instructor Orval had."

All kinds of questions had been fired off and then people gradually shifted to the things they normally talked about.

20 minutes later the bell rang and Rougue left the class first. He left the original building and went to the gym building, the closer he got the more he was worried about the kind of training he had to do.

'What am I going to have to do this time? Is he going to triple my training? No he wouldn't, I'd die if if he did.'

The gym building slowly got closer until he was right next to it, he went n it and found Instructor Warwick sitting in a chair looking at him with a grin in his face.

'Oh no.'

"Student Rougue! It's time for some special training!"

"May I ask what this special training is?"

"Of course you can!"

"The special training is, you have to keep up with me while we do the workout routine together! If you lag behind there will be a punishment of ten more minutes or ten more reps."

Hearing the condition of special training he finally found out why Melvyn was hospitalized after it. Instructor Warwick served in the military as a general before switching to this job so his endurance and stamina is much more than that of a high school student.

"Isn't that a bit harsh?"

"Is it?"

The instructor answered his question with another question. hearing the tone of his voice Rougue shook his head.

"Is that so! Well prepare for a living hell!"

Late chapter, I know but I just didn't know how I wanted to write this chapter. I'll post at least 2 chapters a week hopefully but if that doesn't work then I'll just stick to one.
