18 Wanted

Psychic

It was the same lady I served at the diner. It must be her, I thought.

Another clue? You think?.. Maybe she will be able to tell me something?..

I was dead silent as I looked into the woman's frosty grey eyes. I was lost in thought and I felt as though I was drifting off into space... or at least I thought I was for that few minutes. Suddenly her voice broke the trance her eyes had put me in.

"Alice?.. Right?.." She asked me in a slightly soft tone with a questioning look on her face and a gentle smile. Her eyes were cold and stern before but now appeared to be rather warm and kind as she was still looking at me.

I was dazed for a few seconds before snapping back to reality. "Um..." I spoke, I was unsure if I should say something but nonetheless I continued to speak, "Yes... I am Alice..." I said rather confidently.

I had already answered the woman but the question that was boggling my mind was... How on earth did this woman know my name?.. I never told her my name... I was going to but I didn't get a chance to tell her that day at the diner. She was in such a rush that day and so impatient to know if I had seen the boy with the green eyes.

I was drifting off in thought again when realisation hit me.

The boy with the emerald green eyes?..

"Felix... Your eyes!.." I exclaimed in worry as I looked at the eyes that was glowing in front of me.

~End of flashback~

Glowing green?..

Bright green?..

Emerald green?..

Felix?!..

Was she talking about Felix?..

That day... Friday the 13th... in the janitor's closet. That was when Felix's eyes were glowing bright green.

Green!..

Thinking back to the day I met him... that was the same day she appeared at the diner and asked if I met a boy with green eyes.

It couldn't be?.. I thought. But he had green eyes.

"Obviously this was a known factor..."

»Flashback«

I started to eat the apple while I was still walking towards the school gates where I saw an unfamiliar boy with a black hoodie. He had kind eyes that were glowing emerald green in colour but I couldn't see his face completely, although I did catch a glimpse of his hair that appeared to be spiky and dark brown in colour.

His eyes is what made me stare at him, I don't know why but it was like I had seen them before.. Somewhere.... I really didn't know who he was but those eyes, those eyes.. had me stuck... Like I was drowning in them... Those bright emerald green orbs.

I stood there at the gate for I don't know how long as I gasped when I realised how close I had come to him. I was just a few inches away from him when he spoke...

"Are you lost?!.." Said a husky voice.

"No, why?..." I was confused.

"Because you seem to be staring..." he replied with a smirk plastered on his face, "have you never seen someone with green eyes before."

~End of flashback~

Was it Felix?..

No, that's impossible... I thought, it couldn't possibly be.

When she asked me if I met a boy with green eyes... nothing came to mind that day but now that I think about it... the only person that seems to come to mind is... "Felix." I met him that day. Putting two and two together my mind was now made up... It was Felix. The boy with the green eyes she was talking about was Felix. It couldn't be anyone else.

When she asked me I just brushed it off thinking it was coincidence... I mean, there are lots of boys around with green eyes. The fact that I met Felix that day must've also slipped my mind. However, now I think that it was no coincidence. Yet, how did she know?.. How?..

She wasn't there... in fact, the first time I had ever seen this woman was at the diner and nowhere else... so how did she know?.. I thought.

"It appears I have you at a disadvantage..." said the woman with a kind smile, her voice breaking me out of my thoughts in the process, "since I know your name but you don't know mine."

I did not speak in that moment as my mind was all fuzzy... I had so much questions... questions that I was itching to ask... things I just had to know... What was going on?.. What role did Felix play in all of this?.. Why me?.. What am I supposed to do?..

Her voice then came back and once again I was pulled back out of the rush of thoughts and questions that ran through my mind.

"I am Cara..." she said, "Cara Stone."

Cara Stone?..

That name...

That name sounds so familiar... I swear, I heard it somewhere... but where?..

~Two Years Ago~

Newspaper title reads...

College students have reportedly gone missing.

"I was 16 at the time... I remember it so vaguely..."

I came down for breakfast... I lived with my mom and dad back then. Eight students have reportedly gone missing... that is what was written on the newspaper that my dad was reading while my mom was busy making coffee for him. I sat down and eat my breakfast but I couldn't help but notice the picture of the college students on the front page.

When my dad was done eating he said bye to both of us and gave my mom a light peck on her cheek before he headed off the the garage where his car was. He left the newspaper on the table just in front of me as he headed out.

Usually I don't read the newspaper because I mean, it is not really that interesting but the missing college students got me curious and I ended up reading it.

I ate my cereal with my right hand while I held the newspaper in my other hand as I began to read. Eight college students have mysteriously disappeared. They were last seen on the college grounds but some reports say that they were walking around the city just before their disappearance.

The names of the students were then written under their photo... it was a group photo of them so they must've been friends. Exactly four girls were in the photo as well as four boys... they looked so happy.

The families were also close as the paper stated that the families all helped in the search for the missing students. They even sent out search parties, put out flyers and offered a reward if anyone could find the missing students or at least provide them with some information as to their disappearance.

The police said that the students could have just ran away. Some thought they were dead... usually if you not found within 24 hours they either assume you are out of the country or possibly dead. Some thought they were kidnapped... a lot of people had different views as to their disappearance however, it did not solve the case and the students remained missing.

The parents told the police that there was no way the students would have ran away. They would have called to say where they were going. This was all the newspaper stated before I read through the names under the photo.

The first name at the bottom of the photo was Cara Stone. She was 22 at the time.

"The time of her unforeseen disappearance."

~End of flashback~

Cara Stone?..

The missing student?..

Is she Cara?..

The same person?..

And what happened to the others?..

A hand cupped around my wrist like a handcuff, brought me back to earth but I was so dazed that I ended up being pulled or dragged by none other than... Cara.

"Come with me..." she said as she pulled me to the table in the centre of the dimly lit room, "I have to show you something."

Not like I have much of a choice... Said the sarcastic voice in my head.

"Alice?.. You are Alice right?.." She asked seeming rather unsure as she furrowed her eyebrows.

"Yes..." I said, "I told you this already but I am Alice."

"Oh?.." she said, "I almost thought I had the wrong person but it looks like my prediction was right."

"Your prediction?.." I questioned her as she let go of my wrist and pulled out one of the chairs so that I could sit at the table where the crystal ball was placed. "What do you mean?.."

"I'll explain everything to you now." She said as she gestured towards the seat that she moved out for me. "Have a seat and I will tell you."

"Okay..." I said hesitantly as my voice echoed in the room and I slowly moved forward to take my seat.

When I was seated Cara also took her seat. She looked at me swiftly as she then glanced at the crystal ball in the centre of the table. For some reason I looked into her eyes again, they were grey but seemed to turn somewhat foggy and looked almost like the crystal ball itself as she began to stare into it with both hands cupping the mystical crystal ball.

The purple hazy mist that was in the crystal ball then turned bright blue and my pendant then shot into the air glowing the same colour as the crystal ball. It floated above my head with the chain still attached to my neck which resulted in the pendant pulling my head forward towards the crystal ball.

Not again!.. Exclaimed the sarcastic voice in my head that sounded rather irritated.

"Alice!.." Cara's voice echoed through the room as she looked at me in astonishment with worry now evident on her face. "This is bad!.. They'll definitely be after you now..."

"Wait, what?!.." I said in confusion as I still did not knowing what is going on.

"I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news..." said Cara, "but I'm afraid you are in grave danger."

Wait, that's the same thing that Felix said... I thought.

"Danger?!.." I said in shock. "What do you mean?.."

"I had a vision about you..." she said, "I saw something in the crystal ball and it wasn't good."

"Wait, tell me..." I said anxiously, "what did you see?.."

I was so overwhelmed with what was happening that I was anxious and fearful but yet I was curious to know at the same time.

"I can't!.." Cara said.

Now she sounds like Felix, I thought.

»Flashback«

"Oh, no..." he said, "this is bad."

"What do you mean?!.." I questioned him in shock. "What does it mean?.."

"Well actually I can't tell you..." He said.

"Wait, what?!.." I said in confusion as I looked towards him with a blank look on my face.

"I'm not supposed to tell you..." He said nonchalantly.

I just looked at him in more confusion... I was officially more confused now than ever.

"Okaaay..." I said still thinking as I looked at the shoes on my feet and then to the direction of the woods that was dark and dense with luscious trees covering the forest floor. "Fine don't tell me!.." I exclaimed to him.

I was starting to get angry with Felix because he wouldn't tell me what was going on. He could have at least told me what the shoes appearing on my feet meant... I thought.

"I can't tell you..." he said, like he could tell what I was thinking, "because if I do... your life will be put in danger and you won't be able to live a normal life... Ever Again."

"Danger?!.." I asked him with a questioning look on my face. "What is so bad that it will put my life in danger?.."

"You take the fact that your life is in danger very lightly, don't you?.. But I can't tell you," he said, "unless you don't value your life."

~End of flashback~

Is she not going to tell me anything just like Felix?.. I thought. Won't anyone tell me what is going on?..

"Well, actually it's not that I can't tell you..." Cara spoke again breaking me out of my thoughts, "it's just that I can't tell you now."

"You can't tell me now?.." I questioned her somewhat astonished.

"Yes..." she said as she looked around the room in worry, "it isn't safe here."

"Safe?.." I questioned.

"There are eyes and ears everywhere..." she began to explained, "we have to get moving!.."

"But I don't understand?.." I said as she grabbed my hand and pulled me out of my seat towards the door. "There is no one here."

"You'll be surprised..." she said as she pulled me out the doorway. "We have to hurry and fast!.."

She gripped my hand as she pulled me further down the passageway.

"Where are we going?.." I asked her as she dragged me down the candle lit hallway.

"Somewhere safe..." she said, "where they won't come after you."

How reassuring... Said the sarcastic voice.

"They?!.." I questioned.

They?!..

"Who did she mean by they?.."

To be continued...
