3 Chapter 2 - 1st World: Reality

A few weeks later

School is starting in a week, and I have recently been grinding my skills, however, the only ones I leveled up were simple role-playing, organization, and anatomy so it is probably more difficult to level up higher-tiered skills. For role-playing and organization, I had to play D&D and organize my room and some binders, but for anatomy, I just had to study and learn new things, so it seems different skills level up different ways. It's almost time for school to start though, and that would be a good opportunity to level up a lot of my skills, ever since I could remember I wanted an opportunity to be special and have super-powers, and it seems like this system will allow me to reach those dreams.

I looked into the reincarnation destination shop and it had all the fantasy world I had ever wanted to be in, and even those I have never heard of, it classifies them based on danger/power level from F-SSS and it seems to rank modern earth as E. The higher the rank the more expensive it is. For example, Harry Potter is ranked D and would probably give me access to magic, but in order to choose that it costs 500 thousand, and dragon ball is SSS rank and costs 500 billion. However you can just choose a random one of that tier for 1/10th of the price, I don't have my heart set on anything right now, but one world I would like to go to eventually is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ranking S tier and costing 5 billion.

For now, I will have to stick with what we have available, my main mission is to get a government job or good position in an organization, and when I looked it up, it doesn't seem to be as hard as it sounds, luckily, I live in the U.S. so apparently there are government jobs all over the place. Well, obviously the same exact job postings won't be there when I graduate but it looks like most of the good jobs are either in managerial positions or working with computers in IT, and honestly, working with computers sounds way more fun then managing other people, so I should probably try to get some more skills in both the Technology and Engineering as well as the Mathematics branches. A few years ago I went through a phase in which I decided I wanted to be an engineer and started trying to make lots of stuff, only about half of it actually worked. I still have a few of my contraptions like an ugly clock I tried to make that you had to wind up, It was kind of close to what it was supposed to be, but a bit after my first time trying it out we discovered that it got a few hours ahead of time, as well as more than a few small toys I dismantled to make one of my own, its a hideous monstrosity, but it is able to move its arm up and down if you move a crank.

Thinking of that I decided to try learning Electrical Engineering first, thinking that some of the things I learned in Mechanical Engineering would carry over, in a few hours I found that I was very wrong, there was a lot more then I was used to. Even so, I decided that I might as well learn it, after all even if I don't use it that often, I will still get the points.

After a week of near-constant tinkering, I got it up to simple level 2, I got the first level after just a few hours and the second level yesterday. However, even with just this much I still have learned a lot compared to what I started with. School starts tomorrow, and with it, more opportunities to see my friends and to level up my skills.

I wake up and pack my bag to go to school, my mom makes me and my sister take pictures for our first day of school, then she drops lily off at the preschool and takes me to my first day in middle school. For our first year of middle school, we have all of our classes with different teachers but are still with the same classmates all day. Next year our classmates will change as well.

I reach my homeroom and find that my friends Mike and Glenn are in the same homeroom as me, it seems like Leo is going to be in a classroom without any of us. Our homeroom teacher, who is also our history teacher, makes us all introduce ourselves in alphabetical order, I thought I would be going first but apparently, someone is named Alfred. There was also someone with the name Zackery, who seemed to be friends with almost everyone else in the classroom. Our homeroom teacher is a tall Native American woman who allows us to call her Ms. A because none of us could pronounce her last name corrects. The day went by slowly as all of the teachers talked about classroom expectations and gave us papers to bring home and get signed just like always.

When I arrived back at my house I got all of the papers signed and then was forced to clean my room which made my cleaning skill finally level up.

On the second day of school, things were a bit more straight forward, and after turning in the papers, my teachers finally started to teach us, however, it seems like history was pretty useless to me because it doesn't have any skills, probably because all worlds don't have the same history. Because of my focus and concentration on most of the classes however, I also learned Simple Studying, which I probably never learned before because I never needed to know it. I met up with my friends in the cafeteria and we decided to meet up every Saturday for D&D as long as there were no major tests coming up at the beginning of the following week.

A month later and I found that it seems to be pretty difficult to be leveling up skills when your being taught pretty much all of them at once, however, Geometry, Ecology, and Role Playing each leveled up once and I was able to level up Electrical Engineering again on my own time, and Studying leveled up 3 more times, it seems like at this rate, studying might end up being my first skill to reach intermediate rank. Over this month Mike and I started to hang out more as well, and I also became friends with Alfred. My strength and endurance also increased by 1 because I have been exercising in gym class and just started to hit my growth spurt.

More author notes

because when it says 500 words, it doesn't mean that at all :-)

Anyways, it feels like 1/2 of this chapter is filler and MC thoughts about what to do, so I will attempt to write another chapter today as well. Still, I have learned much today, by the time I have finished writing this book I might actually have enough random knowledge to be good at trivia. Also, try to guess who the ML is, I will give a hint, their name popped up at some point during this chapter.
