1 Chapter one:THE AUTUMN
As she stared from the window of her room, Sun-ri felt bad for the fallen leaves around the tree on an autumn night. It looked like they were similar to the fallen pieces of her soul. She tried to look clearly after wiping off the emotions which took a liquid form and exited through her eyes. She then whispered to herself, "if the autumn is to last forever, it's good to learn to be with it forever".She then got lost in her thoughts and slipped into a sleep haunted by nightmares of past
The chaos of the nightmares makes Sun ri wake up early or never really lets her sleep.
she woke up to a feeling of emptiness like every day and greeted the sun with a sigh !! here again!!
Sun ri lives alone in her small apartment. The biggest challenge of hers every day is to find the courage to pick up all her broken pieces and put up a smile to join her workplace.
she opens her closet with no enthusiasm to look great but just to dress up herself. she enters the kitchen to make breakfast and never really gets involved in the taste as she knows it is just for her survival.
Sun ri owns a convenience store cum restaurant that serves tasty snacks and specializes in chicken
Her Employees
Alex, a man in his late 40s, searching for his soulmate, a great chef, and an avid Korean drama fan... has crush on many Korean drama actresses
He is an expert chef and manages the Sun Ri's store and restaurant efficiently. He is always grateful to Sun Ri for giving him a job and does his best every day to live up to the expectations
A regular day in Alex's life starts with putting a smile on the face of his customers and yelling at his lazy subordinates
"you idiots..
wake up early...
cooking is an art and I'm a Picasso.
His subordinates: "what are we then?"
"you guys are good enough to draw crazy lines on the wall like a kid"
his subordinate jong soo looks at him angrily..
Alex continues to yell
"hey you ..what's that stare about"
jong soo" Mr.Picasso, your painting{fried chicken} has turned black as you were busy lecturing us"
Alex"Ashhhh!! it's all your fault"
jong soo nods his head in resentment and gets back to work
The store is managed by Shin-Min, a girl in her early 20s, beautiful, sole breadwinner of a family with many people and problems
Though her life has not been a rosy one, she manages to enjoy little moments and puts a smile on the face of the customers and her co-workers
Alex, Jung soo, and Shin Min are the trio that keeps the spirit of Sun Ri's workplace high
Jong soo and Shin Min respect and adore Sun Ri as their elder sister
All the three are aware of the emptiness of her life, they try hard to make her smile and wish her to have a happy life
Also, her workers are the only ones Sun Ri calls her own in her lonely universe
She walks through the same lane every day to arrive at her workplace, disinterested in everything she never notices anything in particular except the fallen leaves around the tree
Today somehow her attention was distracted from the leaves owing to a cute smile of a toddler playing on the street.
The toddler unexpectedly crossed the path and was about to get under a speeding truck
Sun Ri screamed and tried to run towards....suddenly a young man caught hold of the kid and rescued him
The mother of the toddler was probably conveying her gratitude, Sun ri wanted to see him, however, he hurriedly boarded his car she could only see his blue jacket with words written as "I KNOW I'M HOT, STOP STARING"
Sun ri gave a sarcastic sigh but wholeheartedly felt thankful for his gesture
She then reached her workplace greeted by her employees.
Shin min was excited to share the news that the festive season has increased their sales and big profits are on their way.
Jong Soo said"I have tried a new recipe and that would miraculously..." interrupted by Alex"kill people and defame our restaurant"
a burst of big laughter ensues in the workplace
Alex then asks Sun ri whether she had a good sleep and breakfast..she nods her head but he knows the unsaid answers...
The BMW car in which the man with the blue jacket boarded stops in front of a mansion. The mansion is lavish, interior design has been done by the top interior designer of the country, the furniture is global as it encompasses the best of the best that countries offer, it looks like a palace.
The guy heads towards his bedroom removing his jacket.
The room is spacious, it contains beautiful paintings bought in prestigious auctions. the wardrobe is full of branded suits, shirts
He has the best collection of limited edition watches sold across the globe
The study table contains a pile of magazines with articles on the young sensation of INTELLEKT,the rising INTELLEKT ,the legacy of INTELLEKT....
He has a shower, and the bathroom is spacious with a bathtub the best shampoos, and a hair conditioner placed before a large mirror inside the bathroom.
He then heads to the table filled with a variety of breakfast...
He is then handed over the newspaper by his secretary Kim
Kim is a devoted hardworking employee who never procrastinates and feels the company as his home and his boss as his God
Kim then tells him"Everything is ready for today's board meeting sir"
The young man's face reveals as he removes the newspaper from his head...CEO OF INTELLEKT GROUP Mr.JOO WON
Tall, handsome, and well-qualified made his place among the most influential CEOs at a very young age.
As is with such high achievements he has a bit of Self centrism
Secretary Kim though deals with it and never really complains as he feels it is legit to have when one has achieved so much
Joo won"s parents then greet him at the breakfast table. His mother kisses his forehead gently and his father says "young man be prepared for the board members' questions, their expectations have been soring high"
Joo won replied "not higher than what I'm going to achieve"
His mother interrupts them"let him have his breakfast in peace"
His mother then goes on"dear...do you remember after the meeting..."
Joo won"yes mom, I will attend the blind date"
Secretary Kim to himself" I don't think any girl on earth can match his expectations in terms of beauty, qualification, and intellect...I know it's a waste of time but I hope he finds that perfect girl soon"
Joo won"secretary Kim you seem to be lost in thoughts..be alert"
Kim quickly responds "Yes sir"
They board the car.
Joo won asks from the back seat.."have you got hold of that thing"
Kim hands him over the agenda of the meeting. Joo won yells "you know this is rubbish. I decide the agenda..in the agenda. I'm asking for.."
Secretary Kim hands him over the tab with an article from a scientific journal
Joo is in awe of an author who writes about streamlining artificial intelligence in various business endeavors including gaming
Secretary Kim notices a smile on the face Joo won after he finishes reading the article every time
Joo won: "This man is a genius....his recent article has a great scope if put to proper use by even more genius of a businessman like me.
Kim get hold of him by any cost and make him work for me"
Kim "yes sir"
Kim requests to stop by a convenience store to hand over some medicines to his girlfriend.
Joo nods
Kim then calls Shin Min to collect the medicines. Shin Min says"Kim I'm sorry I'm in the middle of work, I will send jong soo instead....let's meet in the evening..bye"
Jong soo then steps out of the store to collect the medicines from Kim..both of them exchange a courteous smile
Joo won is shocked and feels Jong Soo and Kim are in a relationship
Joo won then tells to himself.."I'm a broad-minded man. I'm not judgemental. I respect it..yeah.That's why Kim is very secretive about his relationship....the world has progressed but yeah somethings need to change"
Kim then boards back in a hurry as he feels he is late, says"Sorry"
Joo replies"YOU SHOULD NOT, YOU SHOULD NEVER"
Kim looks in shock and then they drive to reach their office
INTELLEKT GROUP OF INDUSTRIES...
The employees are terrified by the news of the arrival of their CEO as any minor indiscipline will cost them their jobs as he is known to be ruthless
However terrified female employees, never miss a chance to appreciate the beauty of their CEO
BOARD MEETING STARTS
Welcome Mr.Joo won, says the speaker presenting the report of the company
Some board members start questioning the stagnation of their gaming company and asks the CEO about the steps he intends to take
Joo won"I never waste time intending, I have already taken the step and you are going to witness the take over of our rival gaming group's leading game version by us within three months"
Everyone claps(some whole heartedly while some not so whole heartedly) Joo won leaves, and secretary Kim is not sure of how but believes his boss can do it
Joo won"Hire that one as early as possible"
Kim"yeah sir"
Kim then leaves Joo won at the hotel where his blindate is waiting for him.
Kim"Hope things go well sir"
Kim then rushes toward the store to meet his girlfriend.
Shin Min apologizes for not meeting him in the morning.
Kim"You need not apologize....how is your brother doing"
Shin Min" Doctors want the surgery to be done early, Sun RI madam has been in touch with them and helping out"
Kim"Good that you have such a considerate boss"
Shin Min(in her mind)..as she watches Sun ri going back to her home" she has empathy in her heart for all creatures ...even after enduring so much....but had lost one for herself"
Kim and shin min heads towards the restaurant to have dinner
Sun ri reaches again to her abode of loneliness to witness the pain of autumn
