6 Tit For Tat

CHAPTER 6

Christian was in a trance, he couldn't believe that he was actually talking to the girl of his dreams, the girl he had already mapped out his future with, he could already imagine their future together, her belly swollen with their kids, who were going to have his eyes and her beautiful caramel doused skin color.

'What was wrong with him?' He had never had this animal urge to protect someone or something so strongly as he felt now, the enthralling desire to marry her, put a ring on her cute fingers, mark her as he is, love her till eternity, spoil her with gifts and affection and treat her like a queen.

All this was just so foreign and strange to him, this was actually the first time he had thought about a girl like this, to the extent of even thinking of marriage at this young age.

"Man, you've already left this place, what are you thinking about?" Daniel asked waving at him.

"Uhmmmmm, sorry where was I?" he asked dropping the inventory book in his hand on the reception's desk.

"Oh yeah, in case you missed it, you have already offered my friend a job." Sara replied.

"Your friend, I don't get you?" he inquired raising his eyebrows, the job had actually been for her.

"You have vacancy just for one person right, and we are two, besides she was the one, who dragged me in here, into this shop, if it wasn't for her, we would not have met today, and how can you just offer us a job, are you the store's manager?" she inquired questioningly raising her eyebrows at him also.

"Something of the sort." Christian replied smiling proudly.

She looked at him with her large sparkling doe brown eyes, God she was an angel, like something medieval sent from the skies, he still couldn't believe she was standing here talking to him, so many thoughts and images of her in so many cute ways ran through his head, her smiling, laughing at his tickles, his crazy antics making her crazy also, Lord help him, he just needed a chance, he was surely going to make her smile a whole damn lot.

"Quit the jokes, and answer me seriously mister." she said.

He loved her fierce attitude.

"Yeah well I'm the store's manager, and I can employ anyone as long as they are qualified, which you guys for one are not, but I know and have absolute trust & faith that you or your friend rather would do a nice job here." he answered.

......

Sara looked at Ariel and smiled-

"Guess you have gotten yourself a job, babe."

"Yeah, oh my, Sara what about you now?" Ariel asked.

"Don't worry about me, just focus on your new job, I'll keep looking around you know, and you will assist me anytime you are less busy oh." Sara replied winking fondly.

She looked up at Christian with so much gratitude in her eyes, at that moment words couldn't express how she felt.

"Thank you so much for this job opportunity, you don't even know the half of what you have done for the both of us, we really appreciate it so much."

"It's nothing love, but it actually comes with a pay or a price, I meant to say." he said.

A price?, what was he leading too, if she wanted this job for her friend, she had to listen to him and do whatever he asked of her.

"What price?" she muttered to herself.

"What did you say love?" he asked smile goofily.

Oh, he really did have something corny up his sleeves, trying to come up with different scenarios, like things or options he would ask of her, she lost count and decided to ask him, so she could get it over and done with.

"What is the price?" she asked standing taller, squaring her shoulders and looking at him defiantly.

"What's with this look between the both of you already, you guys have already carried the conversation so far, and successfully excluded the both of us here, hmpppph." Ariel said and turned to take a look at the store and survey the place.

Daniel quickly followed in her footsteps and in no time they got along and began talking.

"I'm still waiting!" Sara said, already getting impatient.

Christian rested his hands atop the reception's desk and whispered quietly for only her to hear. "Go on a date with me, love."
