8 Bullies & Troubles

CHAPTER 8

An hour later, Sara and Ariel were back at the orphanage home after an eventful but stressful day, Sara had told her friend Ariel about the date, and that Christian had already been told her that she could start work, in 2 weeks time and she was delighted.

After accepting the date invitation they had exchanged phone numbers, with Christian promising to call or text her the venue of the date.

Still giddy and in euphoria, Sara could still not believe the event that led to them meeting that day.

After they got back, they had gone straight to their rooms, showered, changed their clothes and had promised to meet each other up at the orphanage's garden for some late evening talks, to relax and to also read for their tests on Monday.

Taking her bath, and putting on a white t-shirt and shorts knickers, Sara strolled down the hallway with her bags on cloud nine, as she kept thinking of Christian, and the events that led to it all, she was so lost in thought she didn't know when she bumped into Dinah and her gang again.

Talk of meeting the devil, Sara cursed inwardly as she bent to pick up her books that had fell of her bags, as she made to do so, Dinah placed her foot on one of the books, and squeezed it so hard, it nearly tore, looking up at her, Sara was about to speak when she interrupted her by saying-"What were you thinking of that had you smiling like a goofy little fool, and also made you blind you couldn't see us coming ehhh?"

"I'm sorry, I was lost in thoughts, it won't happen again I promise." Sara said pleadingly while still trying to pick her belongings and books up quickly.

"Oh yes, I forgot, she's sorry, it seems there's a little boy deceiving you out there, cause I have been watching you these past few days, and I can see you are gradually crawling out of your boring little shell, and becoming more bolder, huh, or am I not right girls?" Dinah asked her minions.

"Yes, you surely are." They replied while Tessa chimed in "She's certainly growing wings that's for sure."

They have been watching her these past few weeks, she didn't even know what to say to this newfound revelation, quickly packing her books she decided to keep them mum, when suddenly she heard voices behind her. Oh God! Ariel was here again.

***********

"And what's going on here?" Ariel asked, she had been coming to meet Sara her only friend since she came to the shelter at age 8, they had scheduled to meet in the orphanage's garden earlier in the day, and she had wanted to know what was keeping her late, when from afar she caught sight of Dinah and her gang molesting someone, deciding to take a closer look, she was dumbfounded and hurt when she saw they were picking on her friend.

Suddenly becoming furious and not liking the situation, she had decided to confront them, even though knowing that Sara would not like it, her friend was a peaceful person, but she had had enough, and wanted to put them in their right place this instant.

"And who is this one?" Dinah asked squaring her shoulders to look at her, and already preparing for a fight.

"It's her bodyguard now, the one that follows her like a moth drawn to a flame, bwahahahaha." Miranda one of her friends replied.

"Hey whatever you guys think is actually none of my business." Ariel said, standing straight and looking up fearlessly at them.

"Uh, uh what we think is none of your business, nice just nice, you are becoming as sassy as your dear little friend here." Dinah replied raising her hands and clapping them loudly in mockery.

"You see I've been wanting to say my mind to the three of you that act like you are demi gods, when right deep inside you guys are just afraid of what people will say, Sara here has been stopping me, yes she has, if not I would have been done with this long talks since but anyways here I am. Look you guys are so damn pathetic, you live a horrible life, No one ever wants to hang out with the lots of you, because of your bad reputation, and the faster you change, the high time people begin to see good in the three of you, and maybe just maybe you'll learn to appreciate the life God has given you freely, Sara let's get out of here."

Dragging Sara by the hands, they hurriedly left the scene leaving Dinah and her friends speechless.

"Where did you get the courage to speak to them like that, I never thought you capable of doing such." Sara said looking at her friend with so much respect, admiration and love.

Ariel just smiled and said-

"Well it's high time someone here calls them out and outs them in their places since the matrons here are doing a terrible job at it, and I can proudly say I did a damn good job." Ariel winked at her friend and she laughed out loud.
