1 A battle he couldn't win

The "UNSINKABLE TITANIC" sank... the "unbeatable" Baltimore Colts lost Super Bowl III... the "unbreakable" Nazi code was broken... and the "unstoppable" Philistine Champion, Goliath was stopped Death on his track, literally.

Not all the big things cannot be moved, not all the powers can conquer, not everything is impossible.

There is also an old saying "the bigger they are, the harder they fall'. This also demonstrates the stupidity of Human arrogance.

The Biblical account of David and Goliath is one of most popular stories from Scripture (1 Samuel 17) talks about it. It is a lesson of courage, faith, and overcoming what seems impossible. We will forever link with a young Hebrew Boy who won an unexpected battle against his massive opponent. According to the biblical concept it tells us that, Goliath, A great Philistine giant stood at over nine feet tall came to the front of the Philistine battle line each day for forty days and mocked the Israelites and their God. Goliath called to them to fight but King Saul and the Israelite were scared and did nothing. For forty days, each morning and evening Goliath came out and taunted the Israelite to fight him, one on one, man to man. No one answered a word until—David. Goliath laughed at David but David responded that even though Goliath had a sword and spear, he came in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel.

While none of the well-armed seasoned Hebrew soldiers dared to fight with the massive giant, Goliath. A young and small teenage shepherd named David, armed only with a staff and a sling used for throwing stones accepted the challenged---and won. By rocking a single stone, David toppled over his arrogant enemy and ever since the story of David and Goliath came to be known as a triumph of a little boy over a Behemoth

David then picked up Goliath's sword and used it kill Goliath and cut off his head.

This is just a story to remind us that the battle we are going through is not only within us but it is between the power of this evil world and the love of God. We can't deny the fact we are sinners but we also have the assurance that we can be saved through the grace and mercy that our god has promised us. On one aspect we can see that, that day was the day when the Israelites rejoice over the victory of Philistine. But as we go deeper it was never the story of David and Goliath rather it featured the omnipotent god of Israel versus the impotent little arrogant man of Philistine. There is no upset in it. The god who created the universe with a single word of command could never be threatened by deaf and dumb idols made of cold, lifeless stones and wood.

On the another side if it was for David to fight Goliath all by himself without the intervention of God, then am afraid David will be torn apart and become a meal for Goliath. So from here we should also understand that all that David has done, it is the intervention of God and it is not by himself.

Also, think it yourself carefully and persistently, if you were in place of David will you be able to have the courage David had. Will you be able to gather enough courage to face Goliath by trusting in God? Is your Faith stable and reliable or is it unstable.

There may be a Goliath in your life, he may boast about his strength, his wealth and his skills, he may even taunt you viciously, but always remember there is also a David inside of you which can do the things you thought you will never be able to accomplish. All you need to do is be humble and pray in all circumstances, and put God first in your life.

For the word of God says in 1 Corinthian 1:27-29. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him.

We must never forget that the battle is the lord. Everything we do we are doing it for him alone.

UNSINKABLE? nah. UNBEATABLE? No way, UNBREAKABLE? Hardly. UNSTOPPABLE? Don't let the ground break your face GOLIATH...
