1 Chapter 1: Seokjin: A Princess Who Saves

"hey..."

You don't remember much after hitting yes on that screen.

"Hey."

You remember falling but you don't feel any pain.

"HEY!"

You're eyes are closed but you can hear someone yelling?

"PLEASE GET OFF OF ME"

Your eyes quickly open to you sitting on a rather tall man. You scurry off of him as fast as you can and try to help him up.

"S-sorry, I didn't realize I fell on someone." You keep your head down. Mostly embarrassed but also wanting to show how sorry you were.

"It's fine." He assures you. "At least you didn't ruin my face. Can't be worldwide handsome without it." He laughs. It almost sounds like a windshield wiper. It was then you knew who you were talking to.

"JIN!"

"Who?!" Jin looked around confused as to who you were calling out to. "Are you talking about me?"

Now it was your turn to be confused. How could this man who looked like Jin, laughed like Jin, and called himself worldwide handsome like Jin, not be Jin?!?!

"My name is Mario."

"You're name is what?!"

"Mario..."

You begin to think how these circumstances happened and you're reminded of Rae, the shooting star that granted your wish.

The recipient of this wish shall have a one on one experience with a BTS member of her choosing. However she may not choose where and how they meet.

You began to wonder where Rae went when you were interrupted mid thought.

"Hey are you listening?" Jin is waiving his hand in your face trying to get your attention.

"Yeah sorry Ji- I mean Mario." Jin looks at you suspiciously while you smile awkwardly.

"Well anyways, I have to go got a princess to save... again but it was nice cushioning your fall pretty stranger." Jin winks at you as he begins to walk away.

"Wait!" Your mouth moves before you can catch yourself. First did Jin just call you... pretty??? Second did he just wink at you. That wasn't just him blinking with one eye right??? Now Jin is looking at you waiting like you asked him to. Now what?

"How about I come help you save this princess of yours?

"But why would you want to help me?" Dang it he's got a point but you can't miss this opportunity to hang out with THE Kim Seokjin.

"Well like you said you did cushion my fall the least I can do is help you on your quest."

"That hardly seems like a fair deal on your end."

"No trust me it's perfectly alright. Also I don't have anything else I could give you to pay you back. I don't really like owing people." You hoped that would convince him.

"Well I guess it's okay as long as you can jump, swim, go through pipes and occasionally turn into paper."

"Umm... yeah sure I can do that no problem." How are you supposed to turn into paper!!

"Also one more thing. Can you tell me your name?"

"Oh its Y/N."

"A pretty name for a pretty girl huh."

You begin your journey jumping on foes and completing levels with Jin in efforts to make it to Bowsers Castle to save Princess Peach. You decide to take breaks in between each world so you guys can catch your breath.

~After World 1~

"You're pretty good at keeping up Y/N." Jin pats your back as he goes to sit down.

"Ha... thanks I try." You're nice and winded after that boss level but Jin looks perfectly fine. Must be perks of being tall, Korean, and handsome.

"So Y/N, what are some of your hobbies? I want to get to know you better."

"Oh. Let's see, I like listening to music, eating all sorts of foods, readings also pretty great, oh and I really like to dance especially when no one's watching and-" You didn't realize how much you were talking about yourself to him. "I'm sorry I'm rambling aren't I?"

"No it's very charming how open you are about what you like." He smiles but he looks a little sad.

"What about you Mario?" It's still weird to call him that.

"Hmm I wonder..." Now he looks really sad. Abort mission. I repeat abort.

"Well maybe we can figure out what you like."

"Figure it out?"

"Yeah we can just try a bunch of things and eventually we'll have to find something, right?" You try to sound as optimistic as possible.

"Thanks Y/N but you don't have to do that for me. You're already going on this quest with me that's already enough." He stands up and begins to stretch.

"We should probably get going soon can't keep the princess waiting forever." Jin gives you a nice radiant smile before turning to go towards the next world. You can hear a sigh come from him as he walks away.

~After World 2~

You and Jin finished the second world and decide to have a small snack. Jin explains to you what each one is and what it does.

"So, there's three different edible mushrooms. The red ones, the green ones and the gold ones. NEVER eat the purple ones. Got it?"

"Got it!" You hesitantly take a piece of the gold mushroom. It taste like honey. You watch Jin as he cuts up other mushrooms to eat. He's quite skilled.

"Mario you seem to be really handy with a knife maybe cooking could be your hobby?" Jin looks at you shocked and quickly finishes up his work.

"Oh... no I don't really enjoy cooking. It's the chefs job to cook so I shouldn't do it. You didn't know why he seemed so against it but you didn't want to make things worst.

"Well I'm sure we can find a different hobby you might enjoy. Like what about singing?"

"I never really thought about that but it doesn't hurt to try. What should I sing?"

"How about this?" You begin to sing Epiphany and Jin joins you and you guys create a beautiful harmony.

"That was amazing I never knew I could sing like that!" "Do you think we do this again sometime Y/N?"

"Of course we can Jin. Whenever you want."

~After World 3~

"Love you so bad, Love you so bad." You and Jin are bustling down the road singing Fake Love having the time of your lives. Eventually you both decide to take a break on a hillside and watch the sunset.

"I didn't think I would love singing this much. From now on I'm gonna sing everyday until I can't sing anymore!!!"

"That's great. I'm happy for you Jin."

"Why do you keep calling me that Y/N?" You didn't even realize you let "Jin" slip out.

"Uhh well someone I admire back where I'm from looks just like you and his name was Jin."

"Oh. I see... He wasn't better looking than me was he?"

"No way! You're worldwide handsome." You start laughing at his silly question.

"Yes! I knew it! I mean why was I even worried." He joins you in laughter and you both lay in the grass. Then there's a long silence.

"Hey Y/N"

You hum in acknowledgement and look over to see him gazing at the sky.

"If someone told you to stop doing what you loved would you keep doing it regardless of what they said?"

"Well, I would want to keep doing it because I shouldn't let someone else dictate my life."

"Okay but what if the person who told you to stop doing this thing was someone you really cared about? What then?

"Hmm that's tough. I think that if that person really cared about you the way you care about them then they wouldn't put you in a situation where you have to stop doing what you love. If I'm not mistaken you wouldn't put them in the same position you're being put in now would you?"

"No. Never."

"Then maybe have a talk with that person about it and if they still don't listen then maybe they'll just never understand you're love for that thing and that's okay. In the end you need to be the one to decide whether you're willing to part with the thing you love or fight for it."

"Maybe you have a point." You both continue to gaze at the sky in silence a little longer before deciding to move on.

~After World 4~

Jin told you after the next 2 worlds we'll be in Bowser's domain and that you needed to be careful. However you were more interested in who you were saving so you decided to ask about Peach.

"Hey you haven't really told me much about Peach yet.

"Oh. what would you like to know?"

"Is she nice?"

"Umm most of the time."

"Is she funny?"

"Not really."

"....Do you like her?"

"....."

"You do like her!" It made you a bit sad that he liked another girl but as long as he was happy you could be happy.

"I don't think like is the right word."

"Oh. Do you looooove her?"

"NO. I just mean... I care about her but that's it okay." Jin looked very frustrated. You didn't mean to offend him or anything.

"I'm sorry Jin I jus-"

"And stop calling me Jin! That's not my name." He starts to walk away from you. You whisper an "I'm sorry," but it doesn't seem like he heard you.

~After World 5~

You're not sure what to say to Jin. He's sitting near you but he feels so distant. Any time you open your mouth to say something you close it immediately because "what if that's not the right thing to say," or "what if I make him mad again," so you choose to stay silent. It stayed like this during you're whole break.

~After World 6~

You hated this never ending silence, especially with your bias of all people. You still don't know what to say but you know what you can sing. You start to hum a bit of Awake and hope that Jin will hum along with you. At first he doesn't but as you start to sing the lyrics he can't help but join.

"I missed singing with you Y/N."

"Me too. I'm sorry I pushed you too far and keep calling you the wrong name."

"It's okay there's just a lot of things going on with me and Peach and I think I just got overwhelmed."

"Do you want to talk about it I'm all ears. Only if you want to of course."

"It's nothing big or anything it's just that... I really enjoy cooking just as much as singing but Peach doesn't like when I cook. She says it's peasant work but I don't agree with her. It's a lot of fun to make new recipes and try different techniques but every time I try and tell her she won't even hear me out. I want to do what I love but I also don't want to upset her..." You hear sniffling and gently rub Jin's back. " I wish she was more like you Y/N." You stop rubbing his back and look at him in shock. "I mean it Y/N. You're kind, you encourage me to do what I love, you laugh at all my bad jokes what more could I ask for." You don't know what to say.

"Ummm but what about- what about Peach?" You're nervous because Jin looks serious and he's moving closer towards you.

"I tried to like her I really did but the truth is I was forced to be with her just because I saved her one time and now her father and her kingdom won't let me leave her. I've been trying to convince myself that I'm happy but I'm not and that's the truth Y/N."

"..." You start to lean in closer to Jin but you hesitate. Is this right? He is technically with someone but he's not happy.

"Y/N you falling on top of me was the best thing that's happened to me in a while. I never would've discovered my love for singing if it wasn't for you." He leans closer and you can feel his breath on your lips.

"I-" All of a sudden you two are ambushed by Bowser's minions and dragged away to his castle unable to tell Jin how you feel.

~Inside the Castle~

You and Jin are placed in separate cells across from each other.

"Y/N! Are you okay!? They didn't hurt you did they?!"

"No I'm fine. These shackles are a bit tight but I'll survive."

"Don't worry I'll get us out of here."

"Oh will you Mario. You said the same thing to me every time you rescued me." A female's voice echos through the dungeon. As she approaches your cell you get a clear look at her. She's pretty menacing and looks nothing like the character on the video game box. She's covered in rad tattoos and even has a nose ring.

"Peach what did Bowser do to you!" Jin is obviously shocked.

"Oh sweety, this has always been me. Every time I ran away from home to be with who I truly loved you would come and take me away. Every. Single. Time. But this time is different this time you'll be the one staying here while I go live my best life with my man."

"... Fine... that's fine. Just please let Y/N go she doesn't have anything to do with this! You could hear the quiver in Jin's voice as he talked to Peach and how hurt he sounded.

"Well, you see Mario that's where you're wrong. I watched you two make your way all the way here and I have to say you're smitten with this girl. So what I'm going to do is get rid of her that way you can be just as miserable as I was all those times you took me away."

You have no clue what she means by get rid of but you don't want to find out. You start looking for an escape route.

"Peach please... I'm sorry I didn't listen. I'll listen now. I promise!"

"I'm tired of your promises." Jin looks like he's on the verge of tears as she glares at him. You take this opportunity to knock Peach out with a piece of wood you found lying in your cell. You grab the keys and free yourself and Jin.

"Wow I never had someone save me before. I think I like it." You both laugh at his goofy remark and start looking for an exit.

"Any ideas as to where an exit might be Mario?"

"No. Everything looks different than I how I remembered it. How about this door?" As Jin opens the door a gust of wind blows in and would have blown you backwards if Jin didn't catch you.

"Wow are we on an airship!"

"Yeah I think so. Bowser has like 5 of these. He probably did this because he knew there isn't any escape unless you land the ship."

"Then let's go land this ship."

"That won't be necessary. " You hear someone say in a low growl. It's Bowser accompanied by Peach with a bandage wrapped around her head.

"Did you really think you two could get away? Peach says in a mocking tone. Jin grabs your hand and pulls you behind him. "Oh look Bowser we have a knight in shinning armor but this time he's trying to run away." They laugh as Bowser's minions begin to surround us. You look around hoping to see a way out but there doesn't seem to be one besides the door leading to a straight drop. Jin looks at you.

"Y/N I'll distract them and you run and hide. They can't keep this ship up in the air forever they'll have to land eventually." He whispers this to you while squeezing your hand tightly.

"I'm not leaving you, I have a plan just stall them for a bit and then when I say so I need you to trust me."

"Okay, no worries I got this." He cracks is fingers and goes closer towards the enemies.

"Are you admitting defeat?" Peach asks smugly.

"Yes, but I ask that I be able to tell one last dad joke before you lock me up forever."

"...Fine but just. One."

"Okay okay. What... do you call... an elephant-"

"Can you hurry this joke up. We don't have all day!"

"Sorry." Jin looks back at you and you signal for 1 more minute.

"What do you call an elephant that doesn't matter? Anybody? Anybody at all?"

"NO ONE KNOWS THE ANSWER JUST HURRY UP AND FINISH!"

"MARIO NOW!" You signal Jin it's time to go. Jin rushes towards you and you both jump out of the airship while Jin screams, "IT'S IRRELEPHANT," and you hear roaring laughter as you guys are falling.

"NOW WHAT Y/N WE'RE GETTING PRETTY CLOSE TO THE GROUND AREN'T WE!!!" The clouds are blocking most of you're view so you can't see everything clearly

"WELL IF I SAW CORRECTLY WE SHOULD BE DIRECTLY OVER A-"

*Splash*

You both crash into one of the water levels of the game and eventually, safely swim your way to shore. Exhausted. You both lay out on the sand that's just barely out of the water..

"You know you're super smart Y/N"

"And you're irrelephant joke was hilarious Mario."

"Hey... can you call me that other name you say sometimes, of the person you admire."

"Oh... you mean Jin?"

"Yeah for some reason that name sounds more like what my name is supposed to be... That probably sounds crazy. I PROMISE I'M NOT JEALOUS OF THE PERSON YOU ADMIRE!" You laugh at how cute Jin's pouty face is and it just makes him pout even more. He grabs your hand and you stop laughing and look at him. He has a serious expression on his face.

"Hey Y/N."

"Yeah Jin?"

"Thank you for saving me today in more ways than one."

"I would do it 3,000 more times if I had to Jin."

"... Only 3,000 that's not really a lot. I would save you a million times if I had too." He says in a joking tone.

"Well I would save you over a billion times!" You sit up and splash him with water.

"Really Y/N we're resorting to water splashing. What are we children?" All you can do is look at him surprised for calling YOU a child when he's literally the fake maknae of BTS. He smiles at you and gives you a quick kiss before running away screaming that you can't catch him. You do end up catching and you both never let go.
