1 Disappearances

On a world called Jalora, where creatures of all kinds lived, things were going down for a small water spirit family of four. They lived happily in the middle of a town called Jadena. One day, a plan was put into play upon the small family.

Frayna was only 21 when her twin brother, Frances, mysteriously disappeared. She had heard it from their mother and father. "Frayna, sit with us darling, we have something to talk to you about." As the young water spirit sat across from her mother on the adjacent sofa, her father stopped pacing to stand in front of the balcony glass doors. Frayna tilts her head at the seriousness of her parents. They were usually easy going and joking around. Her mother, Delia, sighed and called her husband, Ishak, from the doors.

Eventually the older spirit sat next to his wife and she nodded in approval before turning to their daughter, who was looking more more scared by the minute. "Frayna, your brother has disappeared. There is no easy way to say this my darling." Delia waited as she watched her daughters beautiful face curl up into one of sadness. Tears pooled into her beautiful grey like hues. Even as she blinked those away, to keep a stoic face, more came and trickled down her face. "I know you are sad my darling, but you need to listen up."

Fayna nods her head and gently wipes the tears from her face and took a couple deep breaths. "What is to happen to the trade and his other meetings? Who will be over them with his friend? Will father do it?" Her mother smiled softly at her and opened her mouth to speak, only to be cut off by her father.

"No I will not be continuing his meetings. You will have to. You are his twin after all." Delia whacks her husband's arm lightly as Frayna's mouth dropped open in shock and disbelief.

"W-what? Father, Mother, you can't be serious! Yes, I know a bit about his company, but it's only because he wouldnt stop rambling on about his shipments to Adrensia. I dont know what goes on in his meetings with the other businesses he has to deal with!"

Her father stood with a glare at his daughter. "You will NOT speak to me in such a tone. You are just a woman! Even less! You are my daughter." Frayna looks down and shrinks back into the sofa slightly. Ishak shakes his head at his daughter. "You are a disappointment. As long as your brother remains missing, you will run his shipping company like nothing happened. Do you understand me, girl?"

Frayna nods, trying to hide the tears from her eyes. "Y-yes father. I apologize for my behavior."

Ishak nods in approval before gesturing to her attire. "Go change into your brothers clothes. He never wore dresses. Your mother will cut your hair, too. So take it down from those braids. You are excused." The daughter nods and quickly scurried from the room. As soon as she was gone, Ishak sat beside his wife, only to be glared at. "I know you are mad at me love, but as soon as she learns to stand up to me, then I will know I have succeeded in making her into a man."

Delia sighs at her husband "I hope we find Frances soon."

Ishak nods and wraps his wife in his arms. "I do too my love, I do too."

Frayna almost jogged through the house to her brothers room. Sadness, at her father's words and her brother's disappearance, radiated from her. As she quickly moved through the home, she took down her simple but pretty hair. "Its all for Frances." She nods with this sturdy thought in her mind. As she approached his room, natural instincts made her want to knock, even though she knew he wasn't there. She ignored her instinct and gently turned the knob, opening the door wide to her brothers room. Her eyes start to water again when the smell of her brother hit her nose. Neither of them had moved out yet due to them both being unmarried. She blinked away her tears again and walked into the room, closing the door behind her. She slowly walked through his room and to his closet. A slow, shaky hand reaching for the door knob. She took a deep breath before opening the door and looking inside to the many riding outfits, everyday wear, and business suits.

Frayna started to reach behind her and unlace her dress when she stopped herself. She has nothing to bind her chest. Having not undone her dress yet, the young woman steps out of the room and heads to her own, which was only 3 doors away. Her family was indeed a wealthy one, but they decided to show it through power instead of showing off a big home. She quickly entered her room and walked over to her own closet, opening it quickly and reaching for a white, strong sash. Her fingers were less than an inch away from it when she stopped. She couldnt believe she was doing this. But then those four words ran through her head again. "Its all for Frances." She grips the sash in her hand and quickly head back to her brothers room, closing her door behind her as well as his, before starting to undo her dress and slide off her stockings.
