1 A good day.

As the sound of wind rushes past my ear and caresses my cheeks, I look up to see a blue sky dotted with grey or white streaks of scattered clouds that seem to flow randomly towards any direction, indiscriminately taking chunks of other clouds with them or moving aside for others of their floaty and fluffy kind to replace their absence. A sun hangs in that blue sky, bright yellow and occasionally being blocked by those ever so whimsical clouds, it stands as a quiet giver of life as it silently passes on its light to all of us before it silently drops away and out of sight on the horizon before popping back up to give its quiet support.

As the sound of waves crashing reach my ear, I close my eyes and tilt my head down before opening them again to see a great expanse of water, churning towards the sheer cliff face. First starting as a gentle rise far away, and ending as a large thing high enough to engulf a man and keep him below, attempting to crush the sheer stone cliff in its path, and always it has proved itself wanting as the sharp edge of the cliff cuts in between the waves and breaks its charge. After having broken its charge, the wave runs further before being broken by other smaller spikes of stone jutting out of the ground and above the water.

Standing on top of the cliff face, with grass up to my calves, a path of short grass behind and a farmer's scythe to my side as I stand in my farmer overalls and heavy boots. My left eye is hanging along my cheek, before I plop it back in. I breathe in the smell of the salty breeze and fresh air and breathe out a sigh of relief, filled with bacteria, decaying flesh and other nasty stuff, Before I speak aloud to nobody in particular "What a good day it is."
