19 Blood

"What!? We can be relatives!?" Lucas shouted without belief.

"There is a chance for that… How old are you?"

"I will be 19 this year."

"That would make sense… If we are blood related even if half-blood it means that I have to inform you that you have two more brothers."

"What!? I just found a brother and at the same moment, I got two more? That's great news!" He looked really happy. I didn't know why…

"Who was your mother?"

"One of the handmaidens from the moonshine house. I don't even remember her name…" He looked into the sky and I saw a small tear flowing from his left eye.

"I need to tell you something about the other two… One is your age and he was corrupted by power…" I explained to him what happened when I got evaluated…

He instantly hugged me. That was almost an instant motion after hearing it all. He hugged me really tight and said:

"I'm sorry…" That small gesture… That small gesture of love from an almost unknown person. Brought me to tears. All the things I've endured until now. It all became so… Small. I had him close by. He was hugging me as I was crying onto his shoulder. Putting my fingers into his back. My dirty long and destroyed nails. My narrow hands on his back. It felt as if he was the most important person right now…

"I'm really sorry Hayden… If I tried to escape my fate… I could've found you and helped you..." He felt guilty that he didn't help. He doesn't even know the rest of the family but he felt more guilty than any of my family members would ever be…

"It's… Not your fault…" I sobbed. With the tears flowing down he stopped hugging me. He knelt. And put his hands on my arms while looking in my eyes.

"I will do anything. Anything to take you away from this place. I promise this to you Hayden." He declared with a completely serious voice. I saw all the rest around us smiling. Even Matthew stood up but didn't smile. Only observed. Estel had glossy eyes. I think he wanted to cry.

"Lucas... Don't do it. If you die it will be my fault for letting you do it..."

"You already wasted 14 years of your life with no real friends. When I was having fun with my friends in the lower districts. You were being humiliated by your own family. You never had the fun that I had. And as your older brother, I will protect you." He argued with a calming voice.

"Friends?" I thought to myself. Why don't I remember any memory of my friends… What happened to me before I woke up… Why am I like this now? It feels so weird… Since that one time when I lost consciousness my entire world… Changed. What if it was something else… I don't know anymore… I just… Don't want to know… If because of that accident… I'm now here… I don't even want to think about this anymore.

"Ladies!" We heard the voice from the stairs. It was time for us to go… I found a brother… In a shithole like this… "Let's go back to your cells!" That was the same guy that came with us earlier…

We all walked in one group, but we tried to hide that we were talking. We were whispering to each other. It was so quiet, that the sound of steps were louder.

"Don't forget to remember all the patrolling guards. How they are sat and how they walk." Said Lupo. Lucas was staring at me the entire time I think he had something like "Wow I have a younger brother now I need to take care of him." thing and that starts to annoy me a little bit. I know we are newfound brothers, but still, that's a little too much.

We got to our cell as intended and I slowly began my observation of the guards. While Marcus tried to learn how to use three parts at the same time. Matthew just sat down and I think he was already mentally preparing for the plan. Estel was in his own world I think.

Back to the observation.

It took me around an hour to calculate all their movements. Every ten minutes they go from point A to point B. Those two points are on opposite sides of the floor. Every ten minutes they just swap places at the same time they look at the cells, so they don't see each other. That's a good time for us to make a move. But it could be risky. We wouldn't be able to interrupt a guard with talking or dark energy because that was straight up execution. Instead, we would need to have people prepared to knock them out.

It won't be that risky if no one sees it. So we will first try to get the power of transferring mage to us so that Matthew can make the illusion while we take them out. Then we will slowly go down and get rid of the rest. Free all the prisoners that are with us and leave the rest. And of course… Try to get in touch with the lowest floors. Their help is essential for this plan to work. We will need to break through the guards and we can't do it on our own.

If the whole prison will work together it won't be a problem. But it still will take some time to have everything prepared and rely on Marcus's ability to spy on the soldiers. If he gets detected, probably the whole place will be purged… We need to ask someone who can conceal dark power from detection.

"Marcus. How easy do you think it is to detect your power?" I questioned him. We all need to consider it and ask someone to try and help him if it's really easy.

"Well it would be pretty easy for someone of level 11, but for the lower levels not as much I think. There is still some chance for it, but it truly isn't high." Answered Marcus while still trying to do three parts at the same time.

"Is it better if we found someone who can try to conceal it?"

"It will always give additional assurance."

"Try to contact Lupo and ask him about that." He quickly made an ear and mouth from his power, but he had to be really careful so that the guards won't notice that something is off. So we put him in the corner of the room behind the beds. I sat there to cover his body but left his feet on the ground so that they wouldn't think he escaped. He was also able to transmit what his ear heard, which was amazing.

"Hey, guys we have a small request." I only could think about what he was saying, but I will know the answers from Lupo.

"Oh, Marcus wait a second." I saw Lambert looking around the cell to see if the guards were close. They were standing in place so he went back.

"I think we have around five minutes to talk so don't waste time." Whispered Lambert.

"So what is it?" Asked one of the Lycans, but I wasn't sure which one. His power is amazing; he can even mimic their voice cords.

"Do you know anyone who can hide power? I mean someone who can make my power harder to detect?"

"Well… Let me think. Oh! We have someone like that, but his power is really draining. I think he can keep it up for about 10 minutes. His concealment is almost absolute. Only level 12 could detect a spell hidden by him. But as I said it's for a very short duration." Explained to us Lupo.

"How often can he use it though?"

"Every hour or two? I think something like that."

"Which cell does he reside in and what's his name?"

"He is in the… He is in the cell right beside you! And his name was… Emmm… Adam? Yes, Adam." He spoke in a weird manner, but it was because his memory is a little lacking I think.

"Amazing!" I said pretty loud out of nowhere because of that Matthew and Estel giggled while looking at me.

"Who says amazing to things like this haha. Why won't you say 'sick' or 'lit', but amazing? Weird." Matthew really tries to tease me. Well, I once heard that 'A good soldier is a soldier that can joke even under fire'. Some wise words, but he wasn't even a soldier…

"Okay, now go before they will notice." Added the voice from Marcus's side.

"Then contact the guy and tell him about the plan. Afterwards… Start spying on the soldiers above. Try to learn as much as you can." It's time for a comeback. We will not lose our lives in this place.
