They then got ready and waited for the instructor. The instructor stood on their side and said "Listen up, now I'm going to say the rules and pay attention.
1. The matches are best-of-5 format
2. Both sides have 60 seconds to report to the table when called or will forfeit that match.
3. Both sides will then have 60 seconds to negotiate a grip with their opponent. If after 60 seconds if no grip is established the match will go to the straps.
4. Both sides will flip a coin to determine who selects the side for the first pull. Both sides will switch sides of the table after each pull.
4. After each pull, Both sides will go to their corners where they will have 1 minute to rest and confer with their trainers before they return to the table for the next pull.
5. Nothing shall be worn on either arm on the hand, wrist, or arm on the elbow or below during competition, nor any substance applied to the hand or wrist, except chalk. Any violation can be grounds for disqualification.
6. In the event of a bleeding injury, a competitor MUST stop the bleeding to the Instructor's satisfaction meaning my satisfaction. Use of a Band-Aid or a piece of tape the size of a Band-Aid on the wound is allowed.
7. Any competitor exhibiting impairment due to alcohol, drugs, or otherwise, may be disqualified from the competition.

Fan Cheng didn't know these rules before but he quickly remembered them and checked if there were any loopholes for the rules.
The instructor pooled out a standard Heads and Tails coin and game the call to Fan cheng and tossed the coin into the air Fan Cheng said "Heads" the coin then hit the floor bounced once twice and it was Tails so Lu Tai Xuan gets the first pull.
Then the instructor said"The both of you get ready"
They both got into position and locked their arms around each other.
Fan cheng watched as Lu Tai Xuan positioned his body as his wrist, elbow, and shoulder created a straight line and Fan cheng mimicked him. As Lu Tai Xuan watched him mimic he chuckled and then pulled his outside hip closer so that his belly side touches the table. Fan Cheng also pulled his hip closer for more strength on his arm.
Next Fan Cheng didn't know anything else so they waited for the countdown to hit zero.

As they were doing this Fan Cheng didn't know he was being watched by the Academy head Yun Bing on her tablet.
Sitting across Yun Bing was a beautiful Caucasian lady with blonde hair and brown eyes yet still charming. She was wearing a simple blue dress but it was enough to bewitch any man.
She looked interested as she watched Yun Bing and asked in a plain yet melodious voice
"Hey, Yun Bing what is so interesting that you're even ignoring your best friend."
"Su Mei, There were people from that organization that asked me to watch after a kid but even after so many days he appeared plain and simple so I didn't think too much but today he got challenged By The 16th strongest student on my academy but didn't reject it and even made a bet with him."
"WHAT!? that organization and you kept quiet about it from me? They always choose people that can leave behind their names on the page of history and have a keen eye for talent and you say you haven't noticed anything exceptional about him?"
"Yeah, that's what was weird about him so I didn't mention him to you but from now on this may be different."

The moment the counter hit zero Fan Cheng pushed his body's 50% strength on his arm and saw that Lu Tai Xuan also felt the strength and made his first pull and Fan Cheng also gave all his strength and felt that he was losing Fan Cheng noticed Lu Tai Xuan has his right foot pushed forward and that gave him good grip so Fan Cheng also pushed his right leg forward below the table and felt his strength rising that was when they were at a stalemate.
That was when Fan cheng noticed that pulling seemed more effective than pushing then he pulled with all his strength and Lu Tai Xuan couldn't take that much strength and loss.
Everybody got dumbfounded and forgot to even breathe that's when The instructor said "RELEASE, Winner Fan Cheng Score 1-0."
Everybody then gasped and a commotion broke out.
"I-is this real?"
"L-Lu Tai Xuan lost to Fan Cheng?"
"M-maybe he got lucky"
Everyone was hoping this was just Fan Cheng getting lucky.
But then their fantasy was broken in the second match when the instructor said
"RELEASE, Winner Fan Cheng score 2-0" then the impossible happened
"RELEASE, Winner Fan Cheng score 3-0"
"RELEASE, Winner Fan Cheng score 4-0"
"RELEASE, Winner Fan Cheng score 5-0"

The door to the stage room opened and a girl walked in and saw that everyone was silent.
she looked on the stage and saw that only Lu Tai Xuan was on stage so she thought he had won but to confirm she just asked
"Who Won?"
