5 Chapter 5. Bamboo Lotus Palace
A white robed man was standing next to the red robed Elder Feng.
He saw everything that occured after Fang Lin came back down the Mountains and till Fang Lin entered his room.
He sighed deeply and said,
"I hope he will be able to grow peacefully and obtain a position for our sect."
Elder Feng didn't react much and stood silently by his side.
He nodded and said, "I've already made Hengsha to swear an oath that he shouldn't let this Lin kid's attributes should be said to any and also confirmed that he hasn't yet disclosed this information to any one either."
The white robed man released a sigh of relief and muttered, "Then that's for the best."

It was already morning and the sun was shining brightly.
Fang Lin was still sleeping and then he heard a knock on his door. He woke up soon yawning and then went to open the door.
Once he opened the door, he saw Instructor Luo standing there with a fawning smile on his face.
Fang Lin understood that this Instructor just wants to curry a favour from him and didn't mean any harm to him. That is why he didn't put much of airs like previously in the village before.
Instructor Luo upon seeing Fang Lin, laughed loudly, "Fang Lin ah.....Fang Lin, it's really good that Elder Feng has his eyes upon you, I was really able to pick up a lucky treasure this time during the recruiting process."
Upon hearing instructor Luo's words, Fang Lin had an awkward smile. He not only gained Elder Feng's attention but also got to know the beautiful and charming Fairy Feng. (He indeed wanted to say that out loud, but he didn't.)
Instructor Luo's talent was rather high, he had a level 3 Earth attribute affinity and was rather talented. But compared to Fang Lin, he was totally eclipsed in the attributes.
Fang Lin squeezed out a smile and said, "It was all thanks to Instructor Luo that I was able to be recruited as an Outer disciple without undergoing any trials."
Instructor Luo smiled even brighter and said, "Hahaha....nothing much....nothing much. I was just following sect's orders".
Fang Lin suddenly thought about Xuo Mu, Xue Ji and other kids from his village and asked, "Instructor Luo, about Xuo Mu and others...."
Instructor Luo suddenly cut him off saying, "Of those 5 kids, only Xuo Mu and Xue Ji passed the trials, while the rest of them failed."
Fang Lin released a sigh of relief when he heard that Xuo Mu passed the trials, he remembered that gaunt kid who was bawling his tears infront of his mother.
Instructor Luo continued, "Alright I will pass you the sect's outer disciple robes and your monthly wages and the sect's instruction manual"
Instructor Luo took out a set of 6 robes, a spirit stone and a manual from his ring and passed them to Fang Lin.
Instructor Luo said, "Every outer disciple will be given a spirit stone a month to cultivate and it will not be for free. You will have to perform a minimum of various deeds or run errands etc, which will be available in the sect's Quest hall and which assigned to you. If you performance is extraordinary or has more worth, you will be granted the spirit stones accordingly. Alright, I think I have said everything. Look at the sect's manual once and you will be able to learn many things about the Green Bamboo sect and it's rules. If there is anything, you can find me at the Instructor's quarters."
After saying that, Instructor Luo Hengsha left the Outer disciples quarters and went back.
Fang Lin was looking at the robes, and then he opened the Sect's manual and started reading.
Green Bamboo sect rules for Outer disciples.
Rule 1: You should never engage in fratricide upon your sect people. If anyone found guilty, punishment will be either imprisonment or in least cases death.
Rule 2: You will only be able to obtain one Mortal Level Skill upon gaining entry to the sect in the Martial Skill hall, if you wished to learn extra skills, you will be able to do so by buying the skill manual from the Martial Skill Hall.

Fang Lin started reading the rules of the sect and finished it in a few minutes. He then took a bath and then sat down upon the bamboo bed and took out the Jade slip which Uncle Wei had left behind.
He took it out and saw the Jadeslip, nothing was found written on it and it just looked like an ordinary Jadeslip. He tried to immerse his Spiritual sense into the Jade slip and it suddenly absorbed his Spiritual power. He kept on injecting his Spiritual Power and gradually the spiritual power in his sea of consciousness began the decrease. By now he was already looking very pale, but he still tried to inject more Spiritual power into the Jadeslip.
Fang Lin felt a sharp pain in his head and was about to give up injecting the Spiritual Power, while suddenly a he felt a mnemonic float into his sea of consciousness. After that he suddenly stopped injecting the Spiritual power and the pain in his mind slowly came to a half and started decreasing slowly.
He suddenly remembered that he hasn't eaten anything since yesterday evening and started heading out of his outer disciple room.
It was already noon and the sun was directly on his head. He started to walk towards the best restaurant in the sect, The Bamboo Lotus Palace.
I think I will go have breakfast and see the best restaurant of the sect.
He was rather excited that he had found a Martial Skill which his Uncle Wei had left behind and judging by how it looked like a dazzling Golden Globe, he thought that it must have been a very high level skill. Infact, if there was no pain in his sea of consciousness, he would've already started exploring that Golden Globe in his mind.
After walking for an incense stick worth of time, then arrived at a gorgeous looking palace. The blue color Palace was rather dazzling in the sunlight.
He entered the Bamboo Lotus Palace and suddenly a maid came forward to greet him.
"Hello sir, would you like to have a meal or are you here for treasures?"
Fang Lin replied, "I would first like to have a meal"
The maid then led Fang Lin to a spacious room which was accommodate for two and showed the Menu card of the restaurant.
Fang Lin eyes nearly shot open wide when he saw the rates on the card.
78 silver, 62 silver, 68 silver.....
the minimum price for an item was already 32 silver!
He only had some 100 odd gold coin currency, and each gold coin cost 100 silver!
Infact, the amount Uncle Wei left for Lin was fairly enough for a few hundred meals and he would have to earn a lot if he needs to keep eating at the Bamboo Lotus Palace daily. Aunt Ma's would have probably saved worth 2-3 gold coins her whole life. An average workers's pay for a month would hardly 40-50 silvers a month.
Fang Lin then ordered an item worth 48 silvers and the maid went to get the item.
He just glanced at the restaurant here and there and found very few people sitting inside the restaurant. He thought to himself, "Indeed, there are very few people who come to eat here, the rates are too high and very few people will be able to afford a proper meal."
He laughed derisively and drank the water on the table and consoled himself, "Unless and absolutely necessary, I will not come here to eat again"
Indeed, the Green Lotus Palace had excellent culinary and delicacy to eat and it also dealt with Treasures! After having a meal, Fang Lin decided to go the Treasure Palace to check once and see if he was able to find anything useful to him.
The Maid came back in a while and delivered the food on the table, "Enjoy the food, sire", the maid bowed politely and left.
Fang Lin saw the plate and laughed at himself, it was just a small plate with a Shiny red lobster. He ate a little piece of the lobster and then found that after it went inside his stomach, it started to release mild energy which started to improve his body in a visible way and the pain in his sea of consciousness already started to decrease. He finished the lobster and found that his body has strengthened a little and the pain in his sea of consciousness had already disappeared.
Fang Lin sighed at the delicacy and that the the 48 silvers were damn worth it!
He then gave the maid a golden coin and the maid bought him back the 52 silvers and gave it back to Lin.
Fang Lin tipped the maid 2 silver's and said, "I would now like to check the Treasures Palace."
The maid replied, "This way please...." and started to lead Lin to a gorgeous looking Golden hall.
