The question was not if it was the gods being useless or magic being useless. The one with the higher mastery of rules would emerge as the victory. The Lord of Glory was being suppressed by the Tree of Element, preventing him from moving any muscle in his body.

Yellow light flashed beneath Saleen's feet, allowing him to move right in front of the Lord of Glory with just a single step. He smiled and asked, "were you thinking that I would have needed a long time to kill you?"

The third eye on his forehead opened all of a sudden without bothering to wait for the Lord of Glory's answer, allowing him to see the weakness of the god's body and where the god's divine persona was hidden.
