Idiot, you need offensive abilities as well. Just because you can take all the hits doesn't mean you can hit them back.
It ends up working out, yes, but usually, having obnoxiously overpowered defence is not the best offence. Yes, it can keep you alive, but it means you have to be a constant target that has little-to-no attack power to fight off enemies. Without a means to attack in return, all you can do is attrition battles, and the stronger an enemy is, the longer they can fight. Sure, there are rare occasions, like in this one, where having overpowered defence can be used well in offence, but his greatest powers lie in his shadows, which is technically a support ability.

Too bad, I like offensive play styles more. Well, it's still a smart move to learn defensive skills I guess, as they don't seem to have a system like HP and the like, thus only needing a good weapon to kill/defeat their opponents. Though I am not too sure if he can still defeat enemies with a similar amount of defense without any offensive skills.
