6 CHAPTER SIX

'"Hey..its quitting time. Please wake up and exit the library." The libarian tapped me. I had fallen asleep while trying to read for a test which was gonna hold the next day. I yawned and stretched my body as I stood up while picking my books and giving the old lady a quick nod and a warm smile.

Apparently, the bell had rang and I didn't hear since I was asleep. I picked my phone which had died and I shoved it in my gown pocket. I glanced at my wrist watch and the time read five minutes past nine.

I walked out of the library with my books on one hand. Mimi travelled to see her father but would be back after two days. I guess she was gonna skip the test. The dorm would be pretty lonely and quiet since Mimi is absent.

I hurried out of the library gate and began heading towards the main gate.

On getting there, I realised that it was locked.

Great..now I have to use the small gate.

The distance was quite long but I just have to use it since it is the only way out of the school.

I walked briskly and clutched my books to my chest. It was getting really dark and they were hardly any student around. I saw a bright car light ahead about 200 meters away from where I was.

Suddenly, I felt someone walking behind me and I slowed down my pace so the person could pass. But instead, I felt hands on my waist.

"Hey pretty", I turned and looked at the face which seemed dark and cold.

I walked away and slapped the annoying hands down.

" Heyyyy...I'm talking to you and you're walking away. Thats rude you know".

The voice said. Though it was dark, I am sure I saw him grinning.

I continued walking ignoring the animal behind me.

He suddenly rushed past me and stood at my front blocking every possible way out.

"Please, get out of my way". I said, quite terrified.

" ohh...so you can talk. Nice nice. So here's the thing, I want us to go over there and know ourselves better".

The stranger said.

"Would you get out of my way for Pete's sake?". I said at a very high tone.

Yes I was terrified, but I'm quite assertive anyday.

He suddenly rolled up his sleeves and looked around. By now no one was in sight and the car light I saw earlier was quite dim.

He carried me and my books fell. I screamed for help and he held my mouth closed with one hand. I bit, I kicked and I cried. All to no avail.

He carried me to a much secluded part of the school. An empty classroom I guessed and he dropped me on a desk. I screamed and screamed at the top of my voice and I felt giant hands on my face, close to my eyes.

He slapped me.

I cried and felt the hot liquid on my lips .

" now you are gonna be a good girl or else.." I felt something sharp piercing through my stomach. A knife. He had a KNIFE!

At this point, everything went blank in my mind. I thought of what I could do to help myself as he raised my gown up.

"So make this easy for me..."

"Trust me, I'm not gonna make it easy for you one bit." A voice interrupted him.

I strained my eyes and realised that it was Jayden. Has he been following me?

I found unknown strength and slapped the animal who was trying to have his way with me and just then Jayden grabbed him and the beating started. A phone fell off his pocket and I quickly picked it up and put on the flashlight.

I pointed it at the direction of Jayden who by now was on the floor beating the hella outta the guy. I didnt know what to do to help.

By now Jayden had issued punches on the guy and I realised that the latter was out of breath. At this rate, he was definately gonna die. I screamed when I saw the knife which the guy held as he tried to stab Jayden with it. Jayden missed and it touched his hand. I looked and saw that the hand was bleding. He used his other hand and gave the animal a punch which rendered him unconscious.

Jayden got off him and grabbed me. He held me till we got out of the classroom and to his car and then recognition struck me. The car light I saw earlier on was Jayden's.

He opened the door for me and I got in while he sat on the driver's seat. He started the engine and he began to drive in silence. I looked at his hand which was still bleeding and I stared at it.

"Stop staring at it". He said and I stopped facing the mirror of the car.

We got to the small gate of the school and suddenly, Jayden got out and went into the security chambers. I contemplated on whether to go with him or not. I then decided to wait in the car.

Some five minutes later, I was about opening the door of the car when I saw Jayden coming out. He opened the gate and got in the car and we drove out of the school.

" what happened?". I had to ask.

"Nothing...", he replied coldly.

I decided to let it slide.

We arrived at my dorm some minutes past ten and I got down from Jayden's car. I walked towards him.

" thanks for rescuing me from him". I said, looking down.

"I'm furious at you, you know" he Said smirking a little.

" Why?"

"You weren't careful enough. What girl in their right senses stays in school till that hour? Huh?".

He came down from his car staring directly at me with hands in his pockets.

" I was at the library... I slept off while reading". I said rubbing my hands on my arms. The night was getting quite cold.

"Fact remains that you weren't careful enough". He said crossing his arms on his chests and leaning against his car.

" Besides, your phone was off". He added.

"It died down on me". I said feeling my temper rising.

" Never let your phone die. What if there's an emergency?".

I couldn't take it any longer at this point.

I was boiling inside even though I kept mute.

"Mimi should not have left you all alone to travel" . he added further and that was enough to make me snap.

"I don't need any advice from you. You saved me and I'm grateful. Or should I keep on saying thank you? Please and please, you've done more than enough. So keep your security consciousness tips to your self. We aint even friends. And for heaven's sake, keep Mimi outta this. Okay?"

I hate when people make me feel helpless.

I went towards my door and opened my door and shut it after me. Thunder struck and suddenly it began to rain...slowly and then heavily.

I sighed while I took off my clothes and went to change. I brushed my teeth and I heard slight knocks at my door. Standing before me as I opened the door was Jayden. He was drenched completely.

"Yes?"

"Umm..the gates are locked. Can I please pass a night here?"

I instantly remembered that the dorm gates are always locked by 10:30 pm. I looked at him from head to toe and I felt the anger burning in me again. I hate it when people tell me what to do.

"Go sleep in your car". I spat out and closed the door behind him.

I sat down on the floor hugging my knees.

Why are you being so rude to him? He is only trying to help and protect you. He doesnt deserve the harsh treatment. He saved you from being raped and he is locked outside because of you.

My inner mind said to me and I immediately got up and opened the door. I saw him sitting at the balcony of the dorm and I went to him.

" Please come in".

He stared at me not uttering a word.

"Its raining heavily and its really cold. So please come in".

He looked at me and went in. I followed him behind and closed the door.

He took off his shoes and outer clothing while I was basically drooling.

" Towel?" He said and I nodded giving him a spare towel from the closet. He went to the bathroom and ran a hot bath. I searched for any baggy shorts or knicker that was certain to fit him..a little. I picked a grey khaki and one of my oversized polo and set it on Mimi's bed for him while I sat on my bed.

He came out some minutes later with a towel tied around his waists and his hair all damp and fine. My eyes sujorned from his hair down to his chest. He had a well toned body and six packs abs. I was basically eye raping this dude until..

"Are you going to watch me while I get claded?". He asked and I was suddenly rendered speechless.

" I ..ummm...sorry". I stammered while clearing my throat.

I turned from my sitting position to face the door.

"Not that I mind anyway".

He said and I shivered at the thought.

Manwhore

He told me he was done and I turned Lying on my bed. He crashed on Mimi's and lay there with hands above his head and his eyes surveying the ceiling.

It was still raining outside heavily. We lay on the different beds in silence.

I know I am an introvert but I dont just know what happens when I am with Jayden. I suddenly go against my initial thoughts.

"Netflix?" I asked and He sat up and looked at me.

I got up and grabbed my laptop from my closet and went to sit with him on the bed.

I placed my laptop in front of us and logged in on my Netflix.

"What do you wanna watch?" I asked him.

"Horror." He replied and looked at me smiling.

I swallowed a spit and searched for good horror movies.

"That one looks nice." He said pointing at Alexandre Aja's movie Crawl.

It was an hour and twenty seven minutes film and we began watching.

The movie is an American disaster horror movie about a daughter, a father and along side their dog whom were hunted by alligators after becoming trapped in their home during a hurricane.

Horror movies are not exactly my thing. To be candid, I haven't watched a single horror movie in my life. Not once.

A gruesome image of one of the alligator's appears and I cringed, clinging towards the pillow I have been holding since.

I fell asleep through the movie and when I woke up, the movie had already ended. Jayden was sitting on the bed with his legs spread and his back resting on the high frame of the bed and I was resting on his shoulder. I looked at him and saw that he was fast asleep. I tried to get up and I realised that his arms were around me, bringing me close to him.

I looked up and admired him. He looks so innocent In his sleep and I must confess cute too.

I swallowed hard on my saliava.

My hands roamed to his cheeks and jawline as I traced them with my left index finger.

He moaned in his sleep and held me closer to him. I noticed that he had already dropped the laptop on the dresser table. We were basically cuddling as he tightened his grip around me. We stayed like that for a while and then I slowly removed his hands from me and got off the bed.

I tapped him and he let out a sleepy moan.

"Jayden please sleep properly on the bed."

I said and he adjusted still sleepy.

I relaxed on my bed and let out a sigh. I thought about Jasmine and made a mental note to call her in the morning. I turned and saw my phone which I had been charging since I came back. I unplugged it and dropped it on the dresser table, close to my laptop.

"Please stay with me." I heard Jayden stir in his sleep.

I couldn't tell if he was sleep talking or if he was awake.

I got up and went to the bed and saw that he was asleep. He was sleep talking.

I said to myself.

As I wanted to get off the bed he held me and I got on the bed.

"Please, stay." He said in his sleep holding me.

I sighed and got comfortable on the bed.

After a while, I heard light snores and I was rest assured that he was completly asleep. As I began to make my way from the bed, he tightened his hands around me and I heard him sob.

"No, please, I'm sorry. I'm very sorry." I thought he was talking to me but then I realised that he was having a nightmare. I hugged him in his sleep and he calmed down. I looked at his eyes and I saw a tear slipping down from one eye.

I wiped it with my finger and tried to get some sleep myself.
