7 CHAPTER SEVEN

I woke up to the sound of my alarm which was quite deafening. I growled and rolled on the bed and just then I hit a body. I rubbed my eyes with my palms and sat up, my back leaning on the bed rest. Jayden was fast asleep and snoring quite loudly. As much as it was annoying to the ears, I found it quite cute. I stared at him for a while and then got off the bed. I rushed to the bathroom since I was to have a test by ten in the morning and the time now was exactly eight on the dot.

I grabbed my towel from my closet before going into the bathroom and shutting the door. I quickly undressed and tied my towel across my chest. I got my tooth brush and did justice to my mouth and I had a brief shower. I spent about ten minutes in the bathroom.

When I walked back into the room, Jayden was no where in sight and I just sat my closet table and applied lotion on my body after I had shut the door.

Still on my towel, I decided to video call Jasmine through FaceTime. She picked and we started talking about different things. Important stuffs and unimportant stuffs.

"So you mean he beat the guy nearly half to death?" Jas asked after I narrated the previous day's episode to her.

I only nodded and then she gave me a toothly grin.

"So, how's your prince charming doing?"

"I don't know. I left him out here on the bed before heading to take a shower". I replied.

She looked star struck.

" Hold on....do you mean he slept there? Like in your room? I mean, you both alone?"

"Umm yeah, the dorm gate was already locked plus it was raini...."

Jasmine's wide grin made me stop.

She started winking and winking and winking.

Remind me again why I have an overbearing psycho for a sister

I shook my head and told her she was crazy and that she needs help.

"Welllllllllll......I think he has feelings for you. What do you think?" Jas asked me suddenly becoming all serious.

I only laughed.

"And no doubt you find him attractive too, right?", she asked, giving me the wink again.

I stared at her for a while and shrugged.

"I guess a little attraction won't hurt." I told her.

And then came the squeling..like literally.

"Oh God. I'm totally shipping you guys. Alyden. Its perfect." She said beaming everywhere possible.

"Ew..babe. You really have been watching loads of romance movies. Like yuck"

We both laughed and chit chatted.

"Are you still taking your Cytoxan?" She asked and I frowned.

"Whats the need anyway". I looked away.

" Ali, look at me. You would be doing yourself more harm than good by not taking your chemotherapy drugs.

And I won't tolerate such negativity. Allow some magic in your life. Make room for positivity. Ali, there is still hope." She said and I could feel the sorrow in her.

I gave her a weak smile and nodded. We said good byes and I hung up.

It was few minutes to nine and I got up and started dressing.

I wore a pink hoodie with a pink crop top underneath and a short black skirt. As I applied mascara, I heard a knock on the door and I went to open it. Jayden stood at the other end with a huge smirk.

"Umm..good morning." I greeted.

He nodded and allowed himself in and crashed on my bed.

MY bed.

I looked at my reflection in the standing mirror close to my closet and was pleased with my look.

I turned to face Jayden.

"I have a test now, so I have to go now."

I said hoping he would get the hint and just disappear.

"Let's go have breakfast." He said.

"My test...."

"It's just nine in the morning and your test is by ten. So let's go." He interrupted and bounced up.

I picked my mini back pack and went ahead of him while he strolled out. I locked the door and went towards his car waiting for him to unlock it. He took long strides and walked to me.

"You look beautiful." And just like that my knees went weak. I only looked at him and he smirked.

He went towards the driver's seat and unlocked the car and I got in.

He drove for about five minutes till we got to Drays Restaurant. We got down and went in. We took a table close to the door and sat.

"What do you wanna have?" He asked me and I only shrugged.

"Anything you're having."

"Hmm.." he said looking at the menu.

Just then a waitress came in to take our order.

"Hey hunnies, what can I get you both?" She asked.

"Come on Kyla, you don't have to be so formal around us." I said admist laughter.

"Yeah yeah. Until my boss fires me. Jayden." She said nodding acknowledging his presence.

He nodded back.

Is it me or doesn't he talk much?

"So what do you guys wanna order." She said bringing out a notepad and pen from her pocket.

We ordered chocolate flavoured pancakes and milkshake. The pancakes were really nice. So were the shakes. Jayden kept stealing glances at me as we ate and it made me uncomfortable.

"Do you always eat like a pig?" He asked staring directly at me.

Me. Pig

I looked at him completely at loss until he took out his phone and took a picture of me and showed it to me. I had the shakes all over my mouth and some crumbs of pancake on my hoodie.

"Damn it."

I said suddenly feeling embarrassed and self conscious. I took out some serviette from the table and wiped my mouth. It wasn't my fault actually. I was hungry and didn't eat last night.

"You look cute though." He stated.

I ignored him and continued eating.

"Do you know you snore loudly in your sleep?" I told him with an evil smirk crawling on my face.

"Oh please. I don't snore."

He retorted.

"Yes, you do."

"No, I don't."

We continued like this for a while. We were done eating and then another waitress came with the bill. She stared at Jayden lustfully and battered her lashes like a complete whore.

As if that wasn't enough, she tried leaning closer to him and was licking her lips. Like what the fuck? This is a public place and I wasn't going to let it slide.

Jayden seemed to get her tactics and was flirting with her. He pulled out a pen from her pocket and wrote something on a piece of serviette and pushed it into her shirt and she smiled.

I was getting sick of this. I had to do something and at this rate I was going to be late for my test.

"Babe.." I said to Jayden pouting.

"Let's go. I'm tired. You exhausted me last night. Let's go home."

Jayden looked shocked for a minute and smirked.

"Sure babe. Let's go." He said glancing at the waitress who was completely angry and looking at me with a death stare. If looks could kill. Haha.

We got up and he gave the bill to the waitress who walked away without uttering a word. Score one for Alyssa. Zero for cheap whore.

We got in the car and I looked at Jayden saying.

"I'm gonna be late for my test." He looked at me and just looked back completely at the road.

I sighed and folded my arms. He only shook his head and said, "you're gonna be the death of me."

I wonder what this meant. I wanted to ask what he meant but I decided to keep shut.

We arrived at school and I quickly flew out of the car not minding the stares and glances I got in the walkway. It was already ten minutes past ten and Mr Johnson had definitely started the test. I ran towards my class and opened the door and suddenly all eyes were on me as everyone stopped writing.

"Young lady, who are you and why did you just barge into my class like that?" Mr Johnson asked.

"I'm so sorry sir. I was caught up with something and I came late. I'm in this class sir." I said looking desperate and pleading with my eyes.

"Go out of here this minute before I loose my patience." He barked.

I pleaded until a voice came in.

"She was with me." Jayden said confidently with his hands on his trousers pockets.

No no No no.

I was gonna get it. Who does he think he is to interrupt a class and speak to a teacher that way?

"Mr Leti" the lecturer started looking scared.

"I...I didn't....know...that....she.....was with you..." He stuttered looking down.

"Sorry master." He added.

I looked at Jayden who was giving the lecturer death stares.

"Emm..class dismissed. No more test."

He said and I looked at Jayden who was laughing by now.

Mr Johnson packed his materials and took off. Okay this is kind of funny

All the students ran out happily. Some muttered thank you to Jayden and happily exited the class.

"And then they were two." Jayden said and looked at me directly. I wasn't all that short but his height was intimidating.

He was an inch taller than Kyle.

"What just happened?" I asked.

"Saved you from writing a test." He replied.

I looked at him lost.

"What can I say babe? I love the power I have on people." He said confidently.

"What are you? The President's son?" I asked rhetorically.

He looked up for a minute and said,

"A little closer." He said winking.

I shook my head and attempted to leave.

He blocked the way out.

"Don't I deserve a thank you?"

I looked at him from head to toe.

"Fuck you."

I said and pushed myself out.

"Ouch..my ego is hurt." He said mischievously.

We were already walking in the hall ways.

"Hey.. hey." He called after me noticing my huge strides.

He reached towards me and grabbed my elbows and pinned me towards a locker nearby with him holding my hands above my head.

I looked at how close we were and my heart started accelerating. I felt tingles in my body and I closed my eyes. I guess he noticed how much control he had over me and he smirked. He leaned in closer and whispered in my ear.

"Why are you mad?" He asked and I shivered as I felt his breathing close to the areas around my left ear.

I couldn't say anything.

"Hmm..hey guys." Kyle greeted and Jayden let go of my hands and I cleared my throat.

"Hey Kyle." I greeted back after regaining my composure.

Jayden only looked at Kyle.

"I heard your class got cancelled. What happened?"

The news is out already?

"You know...the usual." I said trying to act cool.

He nodded even though he didn't understand.

"Later." Jayden said to no one in particular and left.

Kyle turned to me and asked,

"What was that?"

I only shrugged and we started walking.

Neither of us said a word to each other till we got to the parking lot.

"Don't you think you should get your own car?" Kyle asked me once we got to his car.

"I don't see the need." I replied.

"Alyssa, Alyssa..what did the oncologist say recently?"

He asked further.

"Last time I went, he said medically I had just approximately 60days to live..."

I said and immediately Kyle dropped his car keys.

I could feel his eyes suddenly watery as he pulled me into for a hug.

I breathe in and released myself from him.

"But he also said that if I continue with the chemotherapy drugs and all I would be able to fight this cancer."

He smiled and I quickly added.. "but I don't even wanna fight it. I just want to give In to nature. I'm just tired. I mean, what am I living for?"

"Hey." He said smacking my arm a bit too hard.

"You're gonna live for Jasmine and I also. Okay. Now continue taking those drugs. No interruptions." He said shutting me up.

"Fine..'dad'" I said and giggled.

I hugged him.

"Thanks for everything Kyle. You have always been there. I'm grateful." I said to him.

He chuckled and picked his keys up and gestured for me to get in and we drove silently to my dorm.
