Chapter 2

"Day 1

Meracyously, me, Annie, and the other man survived. We are not risking going out of the basement yet, though. We have plenty of food for around 2-3 weeks, so we should be fine. No shower though."

The nuke has just landed. Everything was a daze. No one knew what was happening. Outside, the houses on the street have been destroyed. There was no point of trying to save anyone. They were already dead from the nuclear radiation, or the explosion. John and the gang was thrilled for a second, until they realized something. Their houses were gone. Nothing was left as far as they could see. Everything was ruined. They weren't able to fully see the damage due to them staying in the basement. John asked the man his name. "My name is George." he said. John tried to check his phone, but it was fried. No one knew how long the radiation would stay, so they had to guess.

2 weeks passed. They were almost out of food. Someone had to find more. John decided to risk it, and went up the stairs. The rubble from the house was still there. John tried to look for food, but there was none. There was no food in any other house on the street. They were already raided. They had no weapons, so they couldn't hunt. John looked in some more houses. He was about to finish when he saw something in the corner. It was a baseball bat. He remembered who lived here; world famous baseball player Danny Spedoia. He wondered where he was and what he was doing now. He head back to his house with the bat.

"No luck," he said as he walked down the stairs. He was shocked by what he saw. His girlfriend was being eaten by George, but George was not normal. George was a zombie. A week ago, he decided to go to the surface. He seemed fine when he came back, but he was not. The radiation had a chemical in it that would slowly turn people exposed to it into a zombie. George has gotten that chemical in him. John started hitting George with the bat. His body parts started ripping of until he was dead. Alas, Annie was dead.
