CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE:Blood Is Thicker Than Water.

"I hate you!"Isabella said, turning to leave the room for him with tears in her eyes while he stood still, not giving her any relevant answer to why he did what he did.

He hurt her.

He knew he did,but that wasn't intentional,his wife was the only woman he had ever loved but sleeping with another woman who she finds out was totally another mistake all together.

He was drugged that he knew.

He always knew that Megan,his saucy secretary, had her eyes on him,but being the sweetest human being he was,he didn't fire her because the poor girl was an orphan like she said.

That was where his mistake began.

The mistake that cost him the loss of his happiness .

The mistake that made him lose his treasure.

And that mistake was still affecting him because it was in his family.

His son didn't know the entire truth about the loss of his mother which he won't dare tell him because if he knew,the family was going to be divided.

The last thing he needed right now was division in his family because that division was the reason he lost his wife.

That division made him turn a blind eye to what Megan actually did to his wife which made him kill her.

So as long as he keeps the secret to himself everything would be fine, Ezekiel doesn't have to know.

Grandpa stood in his office, his mind thinking that he didn't notice when his son came into the room for  two minutes,observing his father not quite understanding what made the old man be in such thought that he didn't know when someone came inside his room.

Ezekiel sat down but he didn't notice,he saw the worried lines on his father's face and that gave him the initiative that something was wrong.

He knew something was wrong.

His father was a businessman with sharp and calculative brain which he inherited from him but he hardly saw his father worried about any business deals.

Then why is he lost in thought,what's wrong with him?

Was it Zaiden?

"Father"he called and he noticed him flinching when he heard his name called.

"Ezekiel"

"What wrong father,you've been in a daze since i came here?''He asked worried,whatever it was that was bothering him he needed to know,he didn't need his old man dying on him anything soon.

He lost his mother,he can't lose him too.

He was shocked  that he had a heart attack when he pulled a scene the last time he passed out when they had an argument about Zaiden that he thought he was going to die but  after the doctor's declaration that he was fine,he was rest assured.

"I was worried,"Grandpa said, sitting down and fixing his spectacle.

"About what?"

"The shareholders meeting"He said smiling at his son but Ezekiel knew he was lying.

The old man was lying.

He was hiding something from him.

"Actually i wanted to report about Elijah's previous behavior"Ezekiel told him when he remembered his reason for coming to see him.

"He had a secret shareholders meeting and tipped them but he didn't actually say the reason for the entertainment because Leornard was there"

"Elijah"Grandpa called and started smiling. The smile faded off his face and he looked at Ezekiel,"your brother is starting to get on my nerves,does he actually think the mantle was going to fall on Nathan when Zaiden is actually the first son?"

Grandpa asked angrily,he knew he would always turn out to be a threat to the family just like his mother.

Like they said,blood is thicker than water.

He doesn't actually know what gives his son the audacity and the courage that whatever he was doing was going to be a success when it had been clearly written on the wall that he was the second son and his son Nathan would always be the second choice after Zaiden.

Grandpa doesn't speak highly of Nathan because like  his father that brat had been a headache to him that is why he had him outside the country where he can continue his malicious and tricky attitude.

Nathan was typically the exact copy of his father,but unlike his father who doesn't fail to show his dislike for his brother and his family ,Nathan was far more  dangerous.

He was a viper.

You don't actually know what goes on that little head of his,and he was quite an introvert that's why he hardly communicates but that doesn't apply to the old man.

He knew his family members  too well and their character and Nathan was no exception.

Grandpa knew putting Nathan into the family business was dangerous to him and to his brother Zaiden but what option does he have?

Failing to do that was going to arose confusion and hatred in the family which he was clearly trying to avoid but Sophia was  pressing his buttons.

"Actually father,I heard the shareholders were murmuring that he was trying to bribe them into asking for another heir since Zaiden wasn't married.

"It's transparent to us that it was what he wanted to do had it  been Leornard was not there but that will be by the way,after the shareholders meeting and the party there won't be a room for gossip after they get to know of my son's engagement,so be rest assured"

"Then what about Elijah,you can't just let him continue being a headache to me and the company"

"Let him be for now Ezekiel,I still have my plans for him"Grandpa said but Ezekiel rolled his eyes,his father had always been reluctant whenever his issues were brought up.

"But father.."

"That's enough Ezekiel,I need to be left  alone"Grandpa said with finality,knowing that if he allowed this discussion it wouldn't end well for him.

The room closed with a bang which notified Grandpa of his son's anger but that was not important, for now.

"Here"Elijah said, giving a document wrapped in a file over to the scaring looking man with tattoos all over his face.

The man smirked when he opened the file to find what made him smile,he had a hood on that covered his face making it impossible to see his face.

But Elijah didn't care.

He needed to act fast if he needed Nathan in that seat.

His grandpa and brother would be rejoicing over spoiling the meeting with the shareholders but that was just plan A,he had other plans cooked up by him,all he needed was the right time to launch his attack.

"I need everything you can find out about her,don't disappoint me"Elijah said in a serious tone.

"I won't boss,I will keep you updated"the hooded guy said lastly before he came out of the car,his hood still on with the file in his hand leaving his boss to himself.

"Hazel ''Elijah muttered to himself, grinding evilly as he watched Zero mixed with the crowd,out on his assignment.

His father may be smart but he was smarter.

He clenched his fist trying not to imagine the look on his brother's face tomorrow in the shareholders meeting.
