CHAPTER SIXTEEN:I'm His illegitimate Son.

"How dare she?!!''Sophia shouted, throwing her contents on top of the table inside her bedroom as they hit the floor.

"Sophia what's wrong with you?''Elijah demanded as rushing into their room with Nathan following behind.

"What's wrong with me you say?,how dare that little flea insult me in front of the family"Sophia  sparked, facing her husband with blood shot eyes,her chest rising up and down hurt visible in the way she spoke.

"I know but you need to stop reacting this way"Elijah tried calling Sophia down,he had known she would react this way,she had a low tendency for bullshit and was not one to back down in a fight. 

His father had crossed the line today by reprimanding and banning her from dinner with him for a month in front of their guest.

"That's because you are too blind to accept the fact that that old man chooses Zaiden over my son,he's so into him that he forgets that Nathan is also his grandson"Sophia blurted out holding her husband in his collar.

"Sophia I know but.."

"Avery has bitten more than she can chew,that girl insulted me!"

"Mom you need to rest"Nathan walked up to her taking her hand from his dad's colar giving a sign to his dad to get her medications.

"Nathan,avenge your mom ,I'm so hurt"Sophia touched her son's face,tears dripping down her porcelain skin,making Nathan's heart bleed.

The young man tried as much as possible to hide his hurt demeanour,trying not to appear affected over what recently happened in front of his mom,as to not make her worry,his mom had high blood pressure so he was cautious as not to make her stress herself up.

"I will mom ''He said, trying to calm her down as she smiled towards him, removing a strand of his hair that was covering his face.

"Elijah"Sophia called.

"Honey I'm here"Elijah walked up to her with her medicine in his hand.

"Those things are bitter Nathan!''Sophia complained as Nathan took the drugs from his dad, turning to his mom who was holding her head.

"Here drink up"Nathan helped his mother with her medicines as she fell asleep some seconds after taking the drugs as the duo looked at the woman who was stressed up about today's event.

"Meet me in my study room"Elijah said in a monotone to his son making for his office,Nathan took a deep breath knowing what that meant,he knew coming back meant taking up responsibilities as his father always says.

"Father"Nathan called to the young man who had his back facing him looking outside the window with a glass of champagne in his hand.

"Growing up as a kid I have watched everything I have ever wished for being given to my brother…"

"Dad"Nathan called, interrupting him as he knew where this conversation was leading to.

"Father had always been preferential when it comes to Ezekiel,he punished me whenever he was at fault ,I took the beatings,he claims.."Elijah stopped sipping his drink.

"He claims I am a  disgrace to the family,do you want to know why son?"Elijah asked his son who was standing looking at him to talk about his bitter childhood.

"That was in the past father"

"A past which it's mistake is still repeated in the present Nathan,your grandpa is not a fatherly figure as much as you think because…''Elijah stopped throwing the glass to the nearest wall earning agasp from his son who was scared of his father's action tonight.

"Father"

"I'm his illegitimate son!''He said cupping Nathan's face to get a shocked reaction from his son,he has been keeping this information all to himself including Sophia was not aware of this.

"That's not true"Nathan whispered,choosing not to believe the words of his father,if his dad  was an illegitimate son that makes him too.

"Yes it is son,your mom doesn't know yet,your grandfather had an affair with my mom who's dead, Clara Knights that was the name under my birth  certificate,not Kehlani"

 "Does Zaiden know about this?"He suddenly asked his dad,his heart hardening towards his grandpa.

"Whether he knows or not ,we are not to be bothered about that son"

"Then about what dad?,because as much as i really hate the fact that I'm an illegitimate child too,that counts me off the list as the heir to the company,that company belongs to Zaiden!"Nathan yelled at his dad but received a slap as a reply.

"You are really stupid to think i care about your opinion in this matter if you think i would give up just like that"Elijah told his son standing firm in his decision to not back off from his plan.

"The sooner you realize that company is not yours father,the better for you because you are stressing mother up with this whole issue"

"You are the one who needs to pity your mother Nathan,giving up to Avery means dieing and you know your mom son,she's not ever going to do that"

"I'm not going to be part of your revenge plan dad,I have my own life to live"Nathan told him, turning to leave but stopped when his dad uttered the last words that broke his heart.

"Do you think Zaiden actually cares about you huh? The moment he knows you are a threat to his inheritance son he's not going to hesitate in killing you,do you know why?..because he's a killer just like his grandpa son,your old man killed my mom"

Elijah said through gritted teeth,anger visible in his eyes ,he has been trying as much to forget that fateful day but he just can't.

"Grandpa isn't capable of doing that father,you have being deceived"

"You need to wake up son,the sooner the better before you get killed in the game"Elijah declared"I can't believe you chose that son of a bitch over your father"

"He's my brother father"

"Avery doesn't see you that way,why do you think I sent you out of the country son?

"Enough father!"

"That's because i was protecting you from them,they won't hesitate to kill you son,your grandpa is planning on introducing you to the board of directors soon,Avery is antsy about it,you need to be enlightened"

"In as much  as you are planning to use me  as a tool of revenge against grandpa,am sorry to say this but ..I'm not interested in the company anyway,goodnight father"Nathan told his father in finality,telling him what he had been keeping to himself for a while,he has no interest towards taking up the family business which he knew belonged to Zaiden rightfully.

"Nathan!"Elijah yelled watching him leave,unable to take in   what he just heard from Nathan, his son has being deceived by Zaiden.

Never!

"You have no choice but to accept your fate Nathan"Elijah muttered to himself planning next on what to do to make his son turn cold towards his cousin brother,Zaiden.

"Ezekiel, you are mad to think i will give up just like that,Never!."
