Title: Decent start, but gradually fades โ Review after 90+ chapters
Having read over 90 chapters of "Cรบ Chulainn of Ireland" in the original Russian, I can finally give an honest assessment of this work.
Unfortunately, as the story progresses, it noticeably loses its spark and fades. Given the setting and the legendary protagonist, you would expect a rich, mythical atmosphere, but the story severely lacks local flavor and charm. The world feels hollow, and the overall atmosphere is practically non-existent.
The writing suffers in several key areas:
Characters: They are quite bland and forgettable.
Motives: The motivations behind the characters' actions are poorly explained and lack depth.
Relationships: The dynamics and personal connections between characters are weakly developed, making them hard to care about.
Scenes: Both action and dialogue scenes feel dry and uninspiring.
Verdict:
Itโs not terrible, but it is a very middle-of-the-road story. It had potential, but due to the lack of depth and atmosphere, it turns into a mediocre read. A solid average fanfic.
