Villains Need Better Work Ethics

Unlike the last time he ventured into the Void Forest in search of the immortal's legacy, Feng Fan faced no significant trouble with demon beasts this time.

While a few attempted to attack them, Black Chicken's speed proved unmatched, allowing them to evade every enemy without a scratch.

It was only when Feng Fan was less than a kilometer away from the White Crow Sect's protection array, that trouble made its way into him.

Two disciples dressed in plain black robes, devoid of any emblems, stood menacingly before a young woman. Her gray robes, adorned with a white crow emblem, identified her as a menial disciple of the White Crow Sect.

"Meng-er, come with us. I promise we'll take good care of you," one of the men sneered, his gaze lingering greedily on her figure.

Feng Fan, perched on Black Chicken's back, halted to observe the scene with a furrowed brow.

'What's with this overused cliché? That girl isn't even that pretty,' he thought, baffled.

Unsurprisingly, he was mentally comparing her to Xue Qiang. By that standard, no one else seemed to be good enough.

"Wei Hung, Jia Xin, aren't you afraid my White Crow Sect will find out and kill you?" the woman asked, her voice trembling as she subtly tried to put more distance between herself and the two men.

It wasn't the first man who responded, but his companion instead, Jia Xin. "Hahaha, Meng Liu. Why would the White Crow Sect even bother with a useless menial disciple like you?"

The conversation dragged on for a few seconds as the woman edged backward, and Feng Fan, still sitting atop Black Chicken, watched with growing impatience.

'What the hell is with this slow-paced drama? Just attack her already. Weird people…' he thought, rolling his eyes. But curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to read one of the men's thoughts.

'What the hell is this Feng Fan doing? Taking so long to step in and save the damsel in distress!'

Feng Fan froze, realization dawning on him. 'These bastards... they're here for me!'

He focused on the woman next, delving into her thoughts.

'Hehe. Once I seduce that trash Feng Fan, I'll steal all his cultivation resources and finally break through to the Qi Gathering stage! Senior brother's plan is perfect. He even correctly predicted that Feng Fan would take this route back to the sect.'

Feng Fan's lips curled into a warm smile. 'How thoughtful. A whole setup just for me. If I don't return the favor, wouldn't people say that I, Feng Fan, am an ungrateful person? That simply won't do!'

Determined to return the favor, Feng Fan guided Black Chicken to stand in front of the girl, blocking the path.

"Stop right there!" he commanded, his voice firm.

Narrowing his eyes at the two male disciples, Feng Fan's gaze sharpened. "What are you two doing to this… unfortunately-looking lady? Are you seriously attempting to rape her in broad daylight? Let me tell you, ugly people don't deserve to be raped!" he declared, his expression radiating self-righteous indignation, though his words were anything but noble.

The woman's expression behind Feng Fan darkened instantly. 'Ugly? Don't deserve to be raped? What the hell is wrong with this guy?' she thought, barely restraining herself from shouting.

The two disciples standing in front of him were equally stunned. One of them, who happened to be the woman's lover, Wei Hung, glanced at her uneasily. 'Wait… is she really that ugly? Is he implying I have bad taste?'

Jia Xin was no less bewildered. 'Did he seriously just say that? Ugly people don't deserve to be raped? Forget being trash; this Feng Fan's brain is completely fried!'

"Leave now!" Feng Fan commanded, crossing his arms and puffing out his chest. "Or else… hmph! Don't make me spell it out!"

The two men exchanged confused glances, uncertain about what Feng Fan meant but decided to stick to their act.

"Damn you, disciple of the White Crow Sect! This isn't over!" Jia Xin growled before they both turned to flee.

But would Feng Fan let them go so easily? Absolutely not.

As soon as the men began retreating, Feng Fan pointed toward them. "Black Chicken, after them! How dare they try to escape without hearing my 'or else'! Villains these days don't even have the decency to wait for a hero's monologue!"

The fleeing disciples froze mid-sprint, utterly baffled. "What the hell is this guy on about? We regret everything, just let us go!"

Feng Fan, however, was unmoved by their pleas. With a wave of his hand, he commanded, "Trample them!"

Black Chicken obeyed without hesitation. The two men, who were both a realm weaker than the oversized chicken, had no chance.

Cries of pain filled the air as Black Chicken's powerful chicken legs stomped them into submission.

"Let this be a lesson!" Feng Fan declared, grinning triumphantly. "Villains need better work ethics!"

'What the hell? You're punishing us not for assaulting her, but for our work ethic?' the men grumbled inwardly, but they wisely kept their thoughts to themselves.

After all, who knew what a crazy person might do next?

Bruised and battered, they limped away, ignoring their aching bodies.

Despite the pain, at least their plan had partially succeeded. They crouched behind a cluster of high bushes, watching as Meng Liu conversed with Feng Fan. They hoped she could somehow get through to this lunatic.

Feng Fan approached Meng Liu, dismounting from Black Chicken's back and standing before her.

"Junior sister, are you all right? Don't worry, I've dealt with those villains. I'm sure they won't be bothering you anymore!" Feng Fan said, his tone filled with confidence and warmth.

Meng Liu, though slightly intimidated by his erratic behavior, pushed her fear aside. This was an opportunity she couldn't pass up. Her mind was set on gaining access to the immortal path.

She had only joined the White Crow Sect a month ago, but due to her lack of talent, she had been relegated to the rank of a menial disciple.

Then, she heard about Feng Fan, a guy with even less potential than her, who somehow became an official disciple and was granted resources from the sect. How could she accept this?

Those resources should have been hers. What did he have that she didn't? Just because he knew someone talented, he got everything she deserved?

Poor Meng Liu, still hadn't realized that connections were everything. In today's society, only those with the right connections can succeed without effort.

In both Earth's job market and the cultivation world, it's always the rich guy's son who gets everything!
