What abilities would you want in another world?

A gaze fell upon the computer screen as James Richardson pondered over his abilities. Jay is a very normal kid, being 17 years old and having a pretty dark complexion with dark black hair and eyes. He was pretty attractive but actively sabotaged himself with his bad posture, glasses, and general weirdness. Thankfully, James found a way to cope with this by doing CYOAs.

CYOAs are short for Choose Your Own Adventure, where the one playing the CYOA is given various choices for what they want. Mostly it's about specific worlds, and they have options, but the one James was playing only had a few options, and he had to type them out. Normally James would minmax the hell out of every CYOA, taking as much power as he can while taking minimal drawbacks, yet today something compelled James to write down something new.

'Fuck it, we ball.' James thought as he wrote down his answer. 'I mean, what's the worst that can happen?'

An ability to gamble with perks and powers across the multiverse of fiction using points I would earn through quests or changing fate.

James scrolled down to the second question.

What's your type in a partner?

James had never had a girlfriend before, but from all the… "hand training videos" he watched, he knew his type pretty well.

A very large butt.

James snickered at his answers, obviously not taking any of them seriously. He scrolled down to the third and final face with a grin coming up on his glasses-clad face.

What world would you like to be reincarnated in?

For that question, James actually put some thought into it, as his new "fuck it, we ball" mentality had not outweighed his sweaty minmaxing gamer personality. 'Worm? Nah, way too powerful for me to do anything; besides, I haven't even read Worm; I just read fanfics about it'. James pondered as his hand went up to his chin, being engrossed in thought. 'Dragon Ball? Hell no, why did I even think of that? Warhammer 40k? … What is wrong with me? Okay, low-level, nonliteral hellscape universes…' He thought as he grabbed a pen and paper and started to write down various anime and cartoon universes and cross them out as he went through his options. 'My Hero Academia? No. DXD? No. Ben 10? Hell no.' As he kept going down the list and crossing out names, he finally landed on one that caught his eye and met his requirements. 'Hazbin Hotel? Huh, I can work with that. It's relatively weak, being only about city level at Adam's power. I didn't really like the show, but the women and Angel Dust were fire.' After some more consideration, he went back to the computer and typed down his answer.

James clicked on the finish button as a small thank you prompt appeared at the bottom of the CYOA. He clicked out of the prompt as he yawned and stretched out his limbs. He looked at the clock, seeing it said 4:55 AM. James gave a slightly surprised look and turned his monitor off and quickly went to bed. 'Thank god it isn't a school night.' He thought before heading off to sleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. Little did James know, the next time he would wake up would be in a world that wasn't his own.
