Haori's eyes lit up. This was exactly what he had been waiting for.
"Teacher Kushina, what if I actually manage to grab the bell?"
Kushina smiled slightly and looked at Haori. "Really grab it? Haori, although you're pretty strong, it's only relative to your peers. It's very difficult to snatch this bell from me. You should know, I'm a Jonin. This isn't like sparring with classmates at the Ninja Academy."
Kushina was reminding Haori not to underestimate the gap between a Jonin and a Genin.
"I know you're a Jonin, and I'm a Genin, but Genin are still ninjas. In a fight between ninjas, no one can be sure what the outcome will be until they clash." Haori said boldly. He could confidently say that Kushina couldn't be serious when facing him. If she were, he wouldn't have a chance to fight back, and this whole test would be meaningless.
"…You make a good point. If you can get the bell, what do you want?" Kushina asked. She had a high tolerance level for her first student.
"If I win, then Teacher Kushina, please teach me a new jutsu as soon as possible."
Kushina finally understood what Haori wanted. "No problem. I would teach you new jutsu anyway. It's a teacher's duty."
Many Genin who had just graduated from the Ninja Academy had this problem: they wanted to learn as many jutsu as quickly as possible. Being greedy, wanting too much, and being all-encompassing were the common problems of kids. Kushina thought Haori was the same.
In fact, if you replaced the word "jutsu" in Haori's statement with "seal techniques," it was his true goal. But he also knew that you had to take things one step at a time. Haste makes waste. You had to hide your intentions when it was time to hide them.
Kushina tied the bell to her waist and said, "Any more questions? If not, let's begin."
"No more questions."
"Alright, let's start. I know you can use Lightning Release. Don't hold back."
Snatching the bell from Kushina's hand wasn't actually that difficult. Haori wasn't trying to actually defeat a Jonin. He was only trying to take something from her. It was completely possible to do so with a surprise attack.
Haori slowly exhaled. If it were any other person who had just left the Ninja Academy, confronting a Jonin wouldn't have had any effect. But he was different. His control over Lightning Release was absolutely professional.
Lightning Release chakra started to flow through his body. Gradually, electric arcs began to flicker around Haori's surface.
"Seal-less jutsu?" Kushina was startled immediately. She had never seen a ninja perform such a powerful Lightning Release without a hand seal.
She thought she might have to get serious.
"Yes. My body is a bit special by nature. I'm very adaptable to Lightning Release. Regardless of the level of Lightning Release jutsu, I can basically use them without hand seals." Haori explained.
After he finished speaking, Haori charged directly at Kushina.
"Fast!" Kushina was surprised at Haori's speed. This speed far exceeded the level of a Genin.
But she was only slightly startled. Compared to the fastest ninja in the world, Namikaze Minato, Haori's speed wasn't anything special.
"To choose a frontal assault against a Jonin, that's not a good tactic!"
Almost instantly, Haori vanished from his position. Then, he slammed a straight punch at Kushina!
Of course, this kind of direct attack would be difficult to execute. Kushina grabbed Haori's fist with one hand.
Just then, things took a turn!
A piercing bird call echoed!
The weak electric arcs on Haori's surface instantly turned into intense lightning!
Chidori Flow!
The intensity of Haori's Lightning Release immediately increased several times!
The stimulation and erosion of Lightning Release caused Kushina's hand to feel a continuous, intense pain and numbness.
She frowned slightly, realizing she couldn't stay in contact with Haori while he was using Lightning Bird Flow. Her arm involuntarily used 70% of its strength to throw Haori forward.
Kushina raised her hand and looked at it. She discovered that after only a few seconds of contact, the skin on the back of her hand was already peeling like scales. She knew that those cells were probably dead. She flipped her hand over and looked at her palm. The situation was worse there. There was a layer of burnt black from the scorching.
Kushina realized that she had been a little careless. She shouldn't have taken that punch head-on.
"That's strong Lightning Release chakra. Did you create that technique yourself?" Kushina asked Haori, who was several meters away.
"Yes." Haori didn't even blink when he said that. After all, Kakashi couldn't use Lightning Cutter yet, and under patent law, this was Haori's invention.
Although Kushina had thrown him away a bit carelessly, Haori landed smoothly and didn't sustain any real damage.
"A very dangerous technique, and it looks like it consumes a lot of chakra... This Lightning Release is beyond my expectations. Based on its power, it's at least A-rank." Kushina said. The problem wasn't that Haori could use an A-rank technique at his young age. The problem was that he created this technique.
What did that mean? It meant that she, Kushina, had a keen eye for talent!
(ShixT9: Lol )
The piercing bird call continued, and the hand that Kushina had burned with Lightning Release had started to heal. Haori might not know this, but this was the power of Nine-Tails chakra.
"This technique is called Chidori Flow. If I had to judge it myself, it's also an A-rank technique. Its power is naturally undeniable, but it consumes an enormous amount of chakra. As for me now, I can probably only sustain it for two to five minutes." Haori said.
(ShixT9: Hmm killua?)
"Oh? So you want to decide the outcome within these two minutes?" Kushina was surprised again. Being able to maintain such powerful chakra for two minutes meant that Haori's chakra reserves were beyond those of an average Chunin.
Haori had been fast before, but after using Lightning Bird Flow, he became even faster. Lightning speed is the speed of light. By stimulating his cells with Lightning Release, Haori's movement speed couldn't be compared to the speed of light, but you could say he was so fast he was practically unstoppable.
But Haori stood still, not attacking. Instead, he took the opportunity to dispel Chidori Flow.
His actions made Kushina a little confused. "Why did you dispel the technique? Didn't you say you could sustain it for two minutes?"
Haori had claimed that he could sustain Chidori Flow for two to five minutes. That was true. But this attack had only lasted less than ten seconds, and he had already stopped using it.
"Chidori Flow does consume a lot of chakra, but the reason I stopped isn't about chakra. Our fight is over."
Haori said this, then spread open his palm. A bell lay quietly in his hand.
Kushina subconsciously glanced at her waist. Sure enough, the bell that was there had disappeared.
She instantly understood. "When I focused my attention on your fist and your new jutsu, you snatched the bell?"
"Yes. It was a little feint." Haori said with a smile. Then he threw the bell back to Kushina.
"You surprised me." Although she had been surprised by Haori's unexpected action, Kushina didn't seem unhappy in the least.
It was simple. She felt like she could win against Minato this time.

Hey yow ShixT9 here, I actually like this fanfic, far from the usual Naruto fics that I read. I don't know about the future chapters tho, hopefully it will maintain its uniqueness in later chapters.
