Village

The sky was getting dark and Chu Wuyao, who had just finished eating, stood up and was ready to find a suitable place to stay for the night.

From what she remembered, there was a small village near this place, which she would be able to reach before the sun set.

It's not that she couldn't stay in the wilderness.

With her cultivation, there was no problem seeing in the dark and she would not feel cold no matter how low the temperature was.

It's just that as someone who had spent so many years living on Earth and had lived a relatively comfortable life, Chu Wuyao couldn't find any reason to stay outside.

After she put out the fire, she threw the remaining tiger meat to the side and left this place.

With her strength, even if she was walking casually as if she was taking a stroll, her speed was actually very fast.

Less than half an hour later, she arrived to her destination, a small village composed of 50 or so houses.

By now, the sun had almost set and because it was so late, no guards could be seen on the entrance of the village.

Around the village, there was a dilapidated, wooden fence that was filled with many holes, of all shapes and sizes.

Let alone keeping out intruders, even the huge tiger that she had previously killed could sneak in through the gaps.

"Squeek!"

Chu Wuyao pushed the gate of the village open, and the loud, squeezing sound resounded throughout the village.

There was a small spider spitting out web on the handle of the door, which tried to get onto her hand, but Chu Wuyao casually slapped it to death.

Maybe because of the loud noise of the door, or maybe because they had already noticed her, as soon as Chu Wuyao walked into the village, she was surrounded by a dozen or so villagers.

Just like the bandits she previously met, most of the villagers wore gray clothes made out of cheap cloth, which seemed to be very popular among the mortals.

However, compared to the bandits, these villagers looked very kind and had some curiosity in their eyes when they faced her.

"Hello little friend, did you come here to take shelter for the night?", an old man stepped out of the crowd and greeted her.

The old man had only a few hairs on his almost bald head, but in complete contrast, there was a long beard on his face.

The wrinkles of his face and hands were evidence of his old age, and they stretched out as he smiled kindly.

"That's right.", Chu Wuyao nodded her head and became a little curious.

"Are there many people that come here?", she inquired and looked at the dilapidated wooden fence that was filled with spider webs.

In response to her question, the old man touched his long beard with his right hand and chuckled.

"Haha. Little friend, you don't know that our village is the place closest to the immortal mountain."

"Every now and then, just like you, there are also some other young people that are hoping to meet an immortal that will accept them as their disciple."

"Of course, I've yet to see anyone spotted by the immortals.", the village chief explained and shook his head with some regret.

"Little Yu! Come here and help this young lady rest for the night.", he spoke to the crowd behind him.

"Don't worry village chief, I'll be sure to take care of her.", "Little Yu" immediately stepped forward and smiled happily.

Chu Wuyao stared at "Little Yu", who was actually a woman in her thirties and became a little speechless.

Moreover, glancing unconsciously at "Little Yu's" impressive chest, Chu Wuyao felt that there was nothing small about her.

"Little sister, come with me.", the woman gently took her hand and led her into the village.

While on the way, she started talking.

"I'm Feng Yu. How should I call you?"

"Li Ruoshi.", Chu Wuyao said naturally, without any embarrassment.

"Li Ruoshi... What a beautiful name...", Feng Yu commented and continued leading the way.

As they walked through the village, Chu Wuyao took some time to observe the various buildings of the village, as well as its living conditions.

Although this is a world with cultivation, this world is actually similar to the ancient times back on Earth, where mortals at the bottom struggled to survive and had to work hard for just a plate of food.

This became even more obvious from the feeble small houses made out of thin wood on both sides of the street.

Chu Wuyao, who had previously been complaining about her house in the Original Desire Sect, felt that she had wrongly blamed the sect.

Maybe her stone house could be considered a villa in this world?

Seeing that Chu Wuyao was observing the village, Feng Yu puffed up her chest with pride, causing it to bounce up and down.

"How is it? Isn't our village the best?", she questioned but didn't give Chu Wuyao any time to answer.

"I remember than when I was a little girl, the people in the village had trouble surviving."

"My mother had to work three jobs just to get enough food for the two of us to eat."

"But now, with the village chief's guidance, every villager can live comfortably and have abundant food."

The more she spoke, the more excited she became and Chu Wuyao felt that if this continued, she would end up crying in excitement.

"Yeah, yeah, it's amazing."

"I've never seen anything like this before.", Chu Wuyao said against her conscience, trying to calm down Feng Yu's feelings.

Soon, the two of them arrived at Feng Yu's house.

Just like the other buildings, her house was made out of thin wood and Chu Wuyao doubted that it would break the very next second.

Feng Yu opened the door and let Chu Wuyao come in.

Pointing at a room on the left side of the house, she explained: "This is the room of my late husband, you can stay there for tonight."

"If you need anything, you can come and let me know."

"Don't be afraid to trouble me. You know, I have been alone since my husband died ten years ago."

"I'm also very happy to have a visitor, even if it is for only a night.", she smiled.

"Thank you.", Chu Wuyao nodded.

Seeing that Feng Yu didn't say anything else and seemed to be planning to go to sleep, she followed her instructions and entered the bedroom on the left side.

After closing the door behind her, she sat on the bed and went over everything that had happened since she left the sect.

From meeting the two young men, to killing the bandits, eating the tiger meat and finally coming to the village.

Every scene flashed in her mind and she examined them carefully.

In the end, she shook her head and brought up the previous system prompts.

By now, she was used to reading the prompts every night, before going to sleep.

[You've killed a Black-Striped Tiger. Sin Points +2]

[You tricked an innocent man. Sin Points +5]

[You killed a team of bandits. Sin Points +3]

"Sure enough, leaving the sect is also an opportunity to get some Sin Points."

"Only half a day has passed and I've already gained so many.", Chu Wuyao thought.

Next, she brought up the system panel to check her condition.

Glancing at her [Status] column, she found that it had turned into [Injured(7/10)], meaning that her injuries had almost been completely healed.

After she made sure that she had not missed anything, Chu Wuyao lay down on the bed and closed her eyes.

Today's journey was short, but it had made her both physically and mentally tired.

While Chu Wuyao was falling into sleep, in the other room, Feng Yu had changed into a short, black nightgown.

The nightgown was made out of a strange, soft material that clung tightly to her curves, revealing the outline of her slender body.

The nightgown was was just long enough to cover her lower body, highlighting her long, slender legs, while on her chest, her cleavage looked ready to tear the nightgown in half.

Feng Yu slid her delicate fingers across her hair, using a rubber to tie it into a ponytail and then stepped out of the room.

With careful, silent steps, she walked towards Chu Wuyao's room and stopped in front of the door.

Her eyes showed a red hue, as she slowly opened the door and poked her head inside.

Seeing that Chu Wuyao's eyes were closed and her chest moved up and down as she breathed, her long legs trembled and the red color in her eyes became even more intense.
