Chapter 27: State of Mars and Alliance

"Mother, Father, I have returned."

Godfrey places his parents down and his mother continues to hug him. She stares into his eyes and nods as she pulls away. Ambrose places a hand on Godfrey's shoulder and speaks.

"You look like a weight has been taken off your shoulders my son."

Godfrey looks to his hands and pale golden lightning moves across his fingers as if to say hello. Godfrey laughs and nods to his father.

"Haha yes. I feel better than I ever have before. It is thanks to the both of you."

Ambrose smiles but then quickly loses it as he looks at Godfrey seriously. He then crosses his arms and points to the distance, where Saxcis lays.

"Tell us what happened. You brutalised that creature over there and attacked us. You called yourself Judgment. Explain to us what happened on Mars before we arrived."

Godfrey tells them of the expedition, the subsequent attacks, the Mars Base being compromised, and of the Mastermind behind the entire thing.

Ambrose looks at Saxcis angrily and clenches his fist.

"So this thing here is responsible for all of the deceased, and tried to get you to submit to his strength?"

Godfrey places a hand on his father's shoulder and shakes his head.

"Taking your anger out on him will not change what happened. We need to get him and his advanced technology to the Aesir Alliance. It will benefit the entire earth."

Godfrey frowns at the unconscious form of Saxcis and looks to his parents.

"He also called us a low class civilization. He is an exiled prince, so we must tread carefully when trying to reverse engineer his technology. Lest a distress beacon is sent out. I will tell you of Judgement another time."

Ambrose and Calanthe nod. Godfrey, feeling stronger than ever, carries Saxcis like a potato sack as he follows his parents and Blitz back to the Mars base.

They arrive in only a few minutes as Saxcis' battle with Godfrey flung them closer to the Mars base. He turns melancholic as he sees heroes loading up the deceased onto ambulances. He hardens his will and decides to become even more powerful so that something like this can be prevented in the future.

They arrive at the academy and see Mr. Sol waiting near the entrance. He sees Godfrey and shouts in relief.

"Oh thank goodness you're alright. I had worried quite a bit. The security team checked the cameras and I must say, well done Godfrey. You saved many lives today."

Godfrey simply gives a tired smile as he speaks.

"Thank you Mr. Sol. I am sorry for the damage I had dealt to you. I was not aware that you were under mental manipulation at the time."

Mr. Sol waves Godfrey's apology away as he assures him.

"Think nothing of it. I would've given myself a smack too if I had control at the time. By the way, who's that on your shoulder Godfrey?"

Godfrey shakes Saxcis and gives him a disdainful look.

"This is the mastermind. The strongest thing I have ever had to fight. We'll be taking him to the Aesir Alliance for interrogation."

A rough voice then interjects.

"How about we bring him back to Drazi, I'm sure you're tired from your earth shaking battles."

A large orc about 3 meters tall makes himself known. He gives Godfrey a look of superiority and extends a hand.

"I'll be taking him off your hands boy."

Godfrey looks at him with disdain and smiles.

"No."

The large orc snarls as he looks to the Gallahad's.

"Does this welp speak for you two? Does he have the necessary authority to speak in such a way?"

Ambrose shrugs his shoulders and Calanthe covers her mouth to laugh.

"Headmaster Grak'ho, you are speaking to the strongest hero in the Aesir Alliance. You would do well to calm yourself. My son has quite the electric temper."

Grak'ho spits on the ground and reaches for Saxcis on Godfrey's shoulder as he shouts.

"You think that bluff scares me, human? Let me see what little strength he ha-aaaahhhkk!"

Godfrey, annoyed by the orc, lands a devastating front kick to his abdomen. The orc sails through the air and slams hard on the ground, wheezing for air. Godfrey continues walking towards the teleportation hub, but is stopped by a female Cendarian.

"Hail, young hero. I am Headmaster Tornill. I think it is best that the prisoner heads to Talarus. We have advanced interrogation techniques that will ensure that he speaks all of his secrets."

Godfrey frowns and is suspicious.

'So they know. Most likely told by the mentally manipulated members of their race.'

He shakes his head in denial.

"No."

The Cendarian frowns as she prepares her light bow and continues.

"Young man, you may be powerful but this concerns the advancements of all worlds. Surely you can under--aaahhhkk!"

Tornill sails through the air and lands on top of Grak'ho, sending him into unconsciousness. Tornill tries to stand but collapses as she wheezes for breath.

Godfrey continues walking but is stopped by a rhino Beastman who looks at Saxcis' with greed. The Rhino tries to speak but is interrupted by Godfrey.

"No."

Not a second later, the rhino slams on top of Tornill and Grak'ho. Godfrey stays still as he speaks calmly.

"The both of you, please step out."

A portal appears with Mr. Jefferson stepping out. And a shimmer materializes in the air that solidifies into an elf, that looks suspiciously like his friend. Mr. Jefferson jovially waves and greets Godfrey.

"Godfrey! How are you young man?!"

Godfrey nods as he greets back.

"Hello Mr. Jefferson. I am well."

He turns to the elf and introduces himself.

"I am Godfrey Gallahad. May I know your name miss--?"

The elf lightly smiles and curtsies. A queenly aura surrounds her as she mentions her name.

"I am Queen Elicia, and I have come to bargain."

Godfrey looks at her for a while. A kingly aura suddenly overpowers the scene and all living things suddenly feel the urge to kneel. Ambrose and Calanthe are surprised but choose to observe first.

"What do you propose Queen Elicia."

Queen Elicia's eyes widen and she changes her tone to a more respectful one.

"Godfrey, I propose that El'hirn be the second world to benefit from the advanced technologies that this creature possesses. Please consider allowing us access to the data that your scientists gleam, after they have finished their research."

The young man looks to his parents but they smile and shake their heads. Their trust in their son clear. Godfrey nods, his heart warmed by their intent, and replies.

"My acceptance would have to depend on what you can offer to the human race, Queen Elicia."

The Queen nods and gives her proposal.

"Well I think that Sylphaera would appreciate it if her friend could visit her more often. Hahaha."

Queen Elicia laughs. Godfrey is confused and tries to ask but she continues.

"On a more serious note, I offer you the chance to consume our water of purification. It allows the drinker to cleanse their body of impurities and allows a moderate to high strengthening of the limit of their abilities. There are only 10 portions every 500 years, and you can only consume one in your lifetime. Humanity will be allowed to take 5 portions."

She then opens her arms and a wide smile appears on her face.

"Godfrey Gallahad. You will be allowed to enter the pool of purification. There is a high chance that your abilities will evolve."

Godfrey's eyes widen at the implications. On earth, superpowers become difficult to strengthen when the body reaches maturity. It becomes an uphill grind after one reaches 25. He thinks for only a moment and answers.

"In my name, Godfrey Gallahad, I assure you that El'hirn will be allowed to research the alien's technology alongside Earth."

Queen Elicia's eyes widen as Godfrey decides to give El'hirn more than what she bargained for. She confusedly asks Godfrey why.

"Why do you give us more?"

Godfrey laughs and gives a bow.

"Sylphaera would be cross with me if I told her that her mother was at a disadvantage in negotiations. Also, the research may or may not yield effective results. The water of purification holds no such uncertainty."

Queen Elicia bows and looks as if a heavy weight was lifted off her shoulders.

"Sylphaera was right about you Godfrey Gallahad. Please, do take care of her, she is a very reclusive girl and only calls one person friend. I am glad that it is you. Thank you."

The Queen of El'hirn waves her hand and vanishes in a shimmering haze.

Godfrey is surprised with her words and makes sure to mark it down in his head.

'I must visit Sylphaera after everything is sorted. That girl...she never told me she was royalty. It is most probably because I did not ask. Damn it.'

Mr. Jefferson takes this moment to walk closer to the Gallahad's and praises Godfrey.

"Your power grows stronger every time I see you young man. I don't think the academy can hold you any longer."

Godfrey agrees but asks anyway.

"Why do you think so Mr. Jefferson?"

Mr. Jefferson just shakes his head and creates a portal.

"Let us head to the surveillance room and I will show you."

A moment later, Mr. Jefferson activates a Hologram table in the surveillance room and a display of Mars is shown. He then exasperatedly explains.

"I'll be frank. Your battle with that being, for lack of a better word, shattered 1/8 of the planet. Earlier when you had that little spat with your parents, I won't ask why, lightning clouds covered half the planet and struck down with superbolts causing extensive damage."

Mr. Jefferson rubs his forehead.

"The tectonic activity is expected to increase in intensity in the coming weeks. All students will be sent back to their home planet until the activity dies down."

Mr. Jefferson then sighs.

"You might have also increased racial tensions to hostile. All the world's except El'hirn and Drazi have closed off teleportation channels."

Godfrey scratches his head and says.

"Oops?"

Ambrose, Calanthe and Mr. Jefferson stare at Godfrey in disbelief.
