Chapter 6: Oblivion!

Elysium Citadel, Elysium, Before the birth of First Cosmos

_________________________________________________________________________________

As the council assisted the Syntari in adapting to Elysium, I stood with Zenith and Elys, observing the landscape from the castle we had chosen to name Elysium Citadel.

Suddenly, Zenith seemed to receive some information, and a sense of foreboding filled me as I anticipated what was to come. She confirmed my suspicions, saying, "Ryan, the first cosmos is about to be born. You must select one of the seven deadly sins for this cosmos."

Anticipating this moment, knowing the Marvel Universe would soon begin, I had already decided which sin I would embody. Without hesitation, I answered, "I choose envy as the first sin."

As soon as I spoke, Zenith bestowed my reward, and a series of notifications appeared before me:

[You have unlocked the Sin of Envy.]

[You have gained Eternal Sin Empowerment.]

[You have gained Sin-bound Immortality.]

I activated the status screen, and a translucent blue display appeared before me.

After reviewing my new abilities, I felt a sense of satisfaction, balanced by caution. These powers were immense, but I reminded myself not to become overconfident; after all, even Death can be slain in Marvel.

After examining the display, I turned to Zenith and asked, "Can you customize the status screen?"

She replied promptly, "Yes, just tell me what you need, and I will make the adjustments immediately."

"There's not much to change. Just remove the explanations for abilities I'm already familiar with," I requested.

"Done. The status screen will now hide explanations for any abilities you already know," she confirmed. "And there's something else—I've recently unlocked the Virtue of Gratitude. My powers mirror yours, but they draw upon gratitude essence instead of sin."

Knowing she embodied the seven virtues, it still pleased me that she chose to share this revelation.

I was eager to use the manifestation right here, but Zenith advised me to do so outside. She explained that adjusting to my new form would take time and could potentially harm Elysium. Taking her advice, I decided to wait and instead focus on observing the birth of the First Cosmos.

Together with Zenith and Elys, I activated Dimensional Sight. However, instead of witnessing the birth of the First Cosmos, I perceived something else through my cosmic awareness—a presence both ancient and powerful. A Cosmic Entity emerged, and immediately I recognized it: Oblivion, the embodiment of the primordial void, a being representing non-existence itself.

As I observed Oblivion carefully, I understood its intentions. It was crafting a pocket dimension from the Living Abyss, an eldritch substance born from the depths of the primordial cosmic void. With meticulous precision, it formed what would be known as the Outer Void. Oblivion was fully aware of the impending birth of the First Cosmos, and it created this space to observe the cosmos, perhaps intending to return it to nothingness. Thanks to the Veil of Ignorance, Oblivion remained oblivious to my presence.

Once the Outer Void was complete, my Dimensional Sight could no longer penetrate its depths. I continued to observe from outside, peering into the darkness that now lay beyond my reach.

Suddenly, an almost unstoppable, omnipotent energy surged into the endless expanse of emptiness—a vast abyss of pure absence. Like a stone dropped into calm waters, it sent ripples across the void, breaking the stillness.
