Shall We Play A Little Game?

"Nothing at all, brother," assured the fourth voice, his low voice made for sin. "The little Pet had asked for some clothes and I was kind enough to bring her some. It's not my fault that she doesn't appreciate the finer things in life. Maybe you should return her for a better model. After all, meat sacks are a dime a dozen in this day and age."

The sneer in the fourth's voice was enough for me to open up the zipper in Teddy's back as I gripped the handle of the knife I had stashed there. I knew that the voice didn't come with a body; I knew that there was nothing for me to hurt…

But at the same time, there was nothing I wanted more than to just stab him a few times to make him see the error of his ways.

Still hunched over, I forced myself to calm down.

"Hey, Little Bit," murmured Greed and I could feel his arms around my body as if acting like a shield between me and everyone else. I didn't bother to try and look through his eyes. Since I was the only one in this room with a body, well, besides Teddy, I knew exactly what Greed was looking at.

And I didn't need to see just how messed up my body was.

"Lust is an asshole," Greed continued to purr. "Just ignore him; we all do."

The fourth voice let out a snort as Greed continued to soothe me.

"Is she really crying?" demanded Lust, his voice coming from right in front of my face. "Is she really that weak that someone not liking her is enough to make the poor baby cry?"

Yeah, it was official. Lust was an asshole.

Sniffing, I wiped my eyes on my arm before looking forward and giving the prick my best glare. "I'm not crying because you hurt my feelings," I muttered. One hand was gripping Teddy in a death grip, and the other hand was holding my knife.

The solid feeling of the handle in the palm of my hand made me happy.

"Then why is the little Pet crying?" sneered Lust, his cinnamon scent wafting over my face.

"I'm crying because I can't kill you, and it's not fair!" I wailed, the tears coming even faster from my eyes. Why did no one seem to understand how upsetting it was not to argue or kill someone?!?

There was a pregnant pause, and I smirked at the idea that Lust must have spoken to Father Time…

Get it?!? Because Lust could make people pregnant with his voice, and there was a pregnant pause?!? Sometimes, I crack myself up.

Continuing to fight the smirk threatening to appear on my face, I tried to replace it with my most fearsome glare.

"Huh," grunted Lust, and I could feel his undivided attention on me for the first time since I had heard his voice. "I think I like you."

-----

"No!" shouted Greed, turning away from the mirror to stare at his brother. "Little Bit is mine, and I will kill you to keep it that way if necessary."

"Green really isn't a good color on you," purred Lust as he bounced his leg up and down on the armrest of the throne he was currently sitting on. "Besides, you are already sharing with Pride and Envy. What's one more brother?"

"I don't want to fucking share with Pride and Envy!" shouted Greed, picking up one of the golden cups on a nearby table. It was filled to the top with the blood of a willing sacrifice, but for once, Greed wasn't interested in consuming it.

"Little Bit is mine, and only mine," snarled Greed, his humanesque face shifting to something much more sinister that lurked just under his skin. The monster inside of him fought for control, needing to feel the blood of his brother running through his fingers as he beat him to death. "Every part of her is mine, from her blue hair to her toenails and everything in between. You are not worthy of taking something of mine.

Pride cleared his throat as he waved his hand in front of the mirror. The picture of the human bathroom with his little angel crouched on the floor disappeared, leaving nothing more than a reflective surface. "I think you are both mistaken," he said slowly as he adjusted his three-piece suit jacket.

While most human styles didn't do anything for him, he didn't mind wearing the best of the best. And this suit was just that.

"I was the first one to find my little angel," he continued, sinking one of his hands into his pants pocket so that the others couldn't see the fist he was making. The very idea that anyone thought that they had more of a claim on the female he called his own was enough to make him see red. "If she belongs to anyone, she belongs to me, and me alone."

"Shall we make it a game?" asked one of the men standing by the window. Turning around, he smirked at Pride. "Or are you too worried that you will lose? I know it hurts you more than the others when you aren't the winner."

Pride slowly turned to look at Gluttony. The demon had a habit of biting off more than he could chew, and it wasn't limited to meals. Everything done to excess was a form of Gluttony, and the man loved to push the boundaries.

Both his and others around him.

"This is one game I am not willing to play," snorted Pride as he walked over to his throne and sat down. He was the first sin, the one that went before all others, and as such, his chair was directly in the center of the group of seven. "You are more than welcome to play with my Angel; I just hope you don't regret it in the end."

Glut stared at his brother, trying to get a read on him. Pride had never been able to turn down one of his games before. What had changed?

"For once, I agree with Pride," shrugged Greed, turning his attention back to the mirror. With a wave of his hand, the black and white bathroom was back. "I won't play your game," he let out a low chuckle as he watched his little Bit stumbling around the bathroom, trying to find the door. "And not even you can handle her."
