Kirito could not believe his eyes at all but Reina seemed oblivious to the humiliation. Her expression was one of sorrow and resignation as her tear-filled eyes met Kirito's.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I need to do this."

Kirito's mind raced.

Why? Why would she do this?

But before he could process the betrayal, the truth struck him like a hammer.
