Roxon Oil Company exemplifies the power of capital very well.
What about superheroes?
And what about the United Nations' official organizations?
All they can do is stand by and watch!
Jonny Blaze found this deeply inspiring.
"Found it," Jonny murmured, using his super-hearing to quickly pinpoint the location of Kamar-Taj as he arrived in Kathmandu.
"Boom!"
A sonic boom roared as Jonny accelerated, leaving a cloud of sound behind that dissipated within seconds.
In the training ground, housed in ancient buildings with distinctive historical features, dozens of magicians in traditional robes were practicing magic under the guidance of Master Mordo. Their movements were precise and orderly.
Suddenly, a faint "zizz" noise filled the air as a golden light appeared, drawing the attention of the disciples. The Ancient One, draped in a golden robe, stepped through a portal.
"Master," Mordo greeted, bowing slightly.
The Ancient One looked up into the sky. "We have a guest."
Mordo followed her gaze, and in the distance, the roar of something—or someone—approaching grew louder. A figure was flying towards them at great speed, showing no signs of slowing down.
Mordo furrowed his brows and glanced at the Ancient One for guidance. When none came, he stepped forward and summoned his magic, forming a large circular shield that stretched across half the training ground.
It was the Shield of Seraphim, known to be one of the most impenetrable defensive spells in existence. Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange had all used it during the battle on Titan in *Avengers: Infinity War*.
Jonny Blaze smirked as he saw the massive shield appear. He dove down even faster, punching directly at the center of the barrier.
"Kakaka—bang!"
The shield, despite its legendary strength, shattered under Jonny's blow, breaking into pieces. The sheer force of the impact sent Mordo stumbling backward, and several nearby disciples screamed in shock.
"Ding!"
"Combat detected. Reward: Soul Astral Projection (Master Mordo)."
With the sun at his back, Jonny descended slowly. If he had a red cape billowing behind him, he might have been mistaken for Superman—a Superman who had just shattered the mighty Shield of Seraphim with a single punch.
Not bad at all.
"Greetings, Lord of the Void," the Ancient One said with a slight smile.
Jonny raised an eyebrow. "As expected of the Sorcerer Supreme. I wonder just how much you know about me. Like—can you help me find a way back home?"
The Ancient One smiled, her expression calm. "I do hope you leave satisfied. Shall we continue this conversation somewhere else?"
"Sure."
Jonny agreed, and with a wave of her hand, the Ancient One summoned the Mirror Dimension. Instantly, the two of them were enveloped in a landscape of countless mirrored shapes and reflections.
Inside the Mirror Dimension, Jonny's mind buzzed with another notification.
"Ding!"
"Combat detected. Reward: Ability from the Ancient One."
"Much more useful than soul projection," Jonny thought.
He raised his hands, and the ground beneath them began to rise and arch. In a matter of seconds, the ground and nearby buildings had shifted to form a semi-enclosed dome, blocking out the sky.
The Ancient One observed with a look of intrigue, hands calmly behind her back. Jonny couldn't help but wonder just how much she truly knew.
She knew he was the Lord of the Void. She knew he was here to challenge her. But did she know he wanted to learn how to manipulate the Time Stone? Did she know he had the ability to absorb the powers of others through combat?
In a fight, Jonny was far from a pushover. The Ancient One might possess endless magical abilities, but with his powers of dimensional teleportation and his Superman-like strength, he was practically invincible. And the more battles he fought, the stronger he became.
But the real challenge, Jonny thought, wasn't her power. It was her knowledge—her deep insight into the future. That lingering uncertainty about what she knew made him uneasy.
"Dimensional manipulation," the Ancient One remarked, her tone thoughtful. "Did you learn this from other magicians who have touched the Void?"
Jonny gave a half-smile. "From you, actually."
"Me?" The Ancient One frowned, shaking her head slightly. "Impossible. In all the futures I've seen, I've made the most correct decisions. I cannot exist within the Void."
Jonny's smile widened as he listened to her words. The Ancient One was aware of the multiverse and, because of the Time Stone, was often called the Master of Time. It was no surprise that she knew about the Void and that Jonny was its master.
But Jonny found it interesting—she didn't seem fully aware of the Time Variance Authority (TVA) or the deeper mysteries of the Sacred Timeline. Perhaps her belief in the "most correct" future decisions was nothing more than her following the script of that timeline.
It reminded Jonny of Doctor Strange, who had once searched the future and declared there was only one way to defeat Thanos. But was that really true? Or had the TVA snipped away other possibilities, leaving only the path the Sacred Timeline had ordained?
All those futures might have failed not because they were wrong—but because they were pruned by the TVA. L
