Trial VII

Leon rubbed his chin as he evaluated each path, weighing their strengths and weaknesses.

"Hmm, Summoner and Tamer seem quite similar... Necromancer feels like a combination of Summoner and Warlock. Elementalist is versatile, good for many situations." He paused, thinking carefully. "But Chronomancer and Astromancer... those seem the most powerful among them."

After some thought, he asked, "Cherry, what do you suggest?"

Cherry, sitting on his shoulder, responded, "[I would suggest using the unknown ability reward you received to get yourself an ability that will help determine which class suits you best. It will also reveal where your talent lies.]"

Leon nodded and decided to set the class paths aside for a moment. He activated the unknown ability reward.

{Challenger used Unknown Ability Reward.}

{Challenger received Ability: Origin Conjurer.}

{Origin Conjurer: ????}

{No information available. Challenger must discover its uses on their own.}

{Title unlocked: Unique Ability Holder.}

{Effect: Luck +100, increases chance of acquiring unique objects by 5%.}

{Debuff applied: All gains temporarily reduced by 50%.}

Leon, seeing this, shrugged as he looked at Cherry. Cherry nodded in response as a screen appeared in front of him.

[Origin Conjurer]:

Summon three beings equal to the user's rank.

Summon three times the number of beings for each lower rank.

Summon two beings for one rank above the user's rank.

Summon one being for ranks three levels above the user's rank.

All summoned beings are absolutely loyal to user]

[Currently available summons : none]

"Hmm does that mean ,my talent lies in summoning?" he asked looing at Cherry.

[yes, it does seem so] Chery nodded.

"Hmm, so I should choose the summoner path?" Leon asked. 'Hmm, summoning is also cool... what if I summon something powerful?' he thought to himself.

[If I may suggest, Host should choose the Warlock path. It will allow Host to summon the beings and from pact with them, granting Host a full-proof contract without any danger.]

"And yes, I could also do that. It will allow me to have better powers too," he thought as he selected the Warlock path.

"I will now have a path that is devoid of any weakness," he thought to himself as the class selection ended.

{Challenger changed his class to Paradox Mage.}

{Challenger's status screen is now available.}

"Hmm, my stats are above average" Leon mumbled seeing his stats and then shrugged " Well, not like they are my real Tier I stats" He thought to himself as he checked his class skills.

"Three S class and two Ex class, they are even above what Mythical class provides" Leon thought to himself.

A mythical class provided one Ex rank skill and other variety of skills and yet he starts with two Ex class skills and both are great.

"Hmm, I am eager for familiar but lest see what Dark pact can do" he thought.

"Well then, let's see what my first summon will be?" Leon mumbled to himself as he entered the hall, pushing the table and all the furniture to make more space.

Hearing the commotion, Millie came to him, looking at him curiously, wondering what was causing the noise. Leon looked at her and said, "Well, you know about summoning, right?" He asked, smiling, as he simply picked up the furniture and placed it aside, creating a large space in the hall.

"Hmm, I'm going to summon a friend," Leon said. With his hand raised, mana gushed out as he used his Origin Conjurer to summon a single entity.

His Origin Conjurer allowed him to summon three beings at his level, which meant three beings at Tier 1, but he could also summon non-tiered beings—up to 27 if he went further down. Likewise, he could summon two Tier 2-level beings or a single Tier 3 being. The only issue was mana expenditure. With his meager mana, he could only summon a Tier 3 being for a few seconds before it vanished, but that short time was enough for Leon to establish a pact with the being.

Leon took a deep breath as he activated his ability—Origin Conjurer. As it activated, a magic circle began to form on the ground. It started with a large outer circle, and soon intricate lines crisscrossed, creating an elaborate formation of magic. Once the circle was complete, it turned a regal purple, and a huge surge of mana gushed out from Leon.

"I hope something good comes out," he mumbled as he felt half of his mana leave his body.

Soon, as the circle released an intense amount of light, a humanoid figure began to emerge. Leon's eyes widened as he saw the being coming through. It was a humanoid creature with an octopus-like head, its entire body covered in dark, metallic Robe. Its three eyes locked onto Leon, and although calm, they radiated an ominous, dangerous aura, as if one was staring directly into the abyss.

"Dark Pact," Leon muttered, shaking off the daze from staring at the being's eyes.

Another quarter of his mana surged out as a cuff with a long chain materialized. One side of the cuff came to Leon, while the other approached the creature.

Leon quickly placed the cuff on his hand. The being looked at the cuff, and Leon, hastily, said, "Wear it around your hand."

The being nodded and placed its hand inside the cuff. The chain tightened, glowing as blood from both of them was drawn, sealing the contract.

[No mana left. Cancelling summoning,] Cherry informed as the being was unsummoned.
