Chapter 125: Another Targaryen

"Drag Jon in, I'll treat his wounds! Are you the wild woman Jon was talking about?" The door was pushed open, and Sam's huge figure walked out and said.

After the wildlings attacked, he hid in the house and dared not come out, and witnessed almost the entire process of how Jon was injured.

Knowing that this female wildling would not harm him, he dared to come out and treat Jon.

After hearing what Sam said, Ygritte didn't expect that Jon had actually mentioned her in front of others. Then, looking at Sam's honest look, she knew that he would not do anything bad to her and Jon.

But to be on the safe side, she still looked at Jon, who was not unconscious. When she saw him nodding at her, she quickly dragged him into the house.

After closing and bolting the door, Sam asked Ygritte to support Jon while he brought the medicine, undressed Jon, carefully removed the two arrows, applied medicine, and tied bandages.

Looking at Jon lying on the bed, Ygritte didn't know whether she should leave or stay.

Naturally, she had to go out and continue killing the Night's Watch, but those were Jon's brothers, and he had just saved her. If she went out to kill the Night's Watch again, how would she face Jon in the future?

"You stay here first! By the way, my name is Samwell, from the Tully family, who are you?" Sam saw Ygritte's embarrassment.

"My name is Ygritte." The savages only have a first name, no last name.

"you..."

"Bang, bang, bang…"

Sam was just about to find something to say when the door was slammed. Through the window, Sam saw that it was the night watchman, who signaled Ygritte to hide first.

"Sam, you actually hid here!" The person outside the door saw Sam and said sarcastically.

"Jon was seriously injured by an arrow, and I can only take care of him here." Sam said, glancing at Jon on the bed.

"Hmph!" The person outside the door knew that Sam was not cut out for fighting. Seeing Jon lying on the bed with a pale face, he didn't know what to say. He closed the door and continued to go out and fight the wildlings.

Sam bolted the door and let Ygritte out. Ygritte knew that she could no longer go out to fight, so she could only stay with Jon, anxiously waiting for the outcome of the siege outside.

More than an hour later, there was another knock on the door. Sam saw it was Piper and opened the door immediately.

"Jon, how... who is she?" When Pyp heard that Jon was injured, he rushed over to check after the siege. Unexpectedly, he saw a woman in the room, and this woman was dressed as a wildling.

"She's Jon's..." Sam saw both of them were about to take up their weapons, so he hurriedly introduced them, but he stopped talking halfway, and he didn't know how to say it.

But Pyp understood what he meant. He sheathed the half-drawn sword and walked to Jon's bed to check his injuries.

Although Jon was a little dazed, he couldn't fall asleep. There were constant shouting and screaming outside the door. How could he rest and recuperate in peace?

"What's going on outside?" Jon asked, enduring the pain in his chest, when he saw Pyp coming in.

"Hold it." Piper looked at Ygritte, who looked doubtful, and said again: "She can't stay here, you should know that."

The Night's Watch has always been very dissatisfied with Jon's joining the wildlings. Although he was interrogated by Alliser and others and proved that he joined in order to gather information, Alliser's faction still rejected him.

If they find out that he has hidden the female wildling again, the old matter will be brought up again, and it will be hard to say whether Ygritte can survive.

"I'm leaving now!" Ygritte said to Jon when she saw that Jon's injuries were not particularly serious and that she would cause him trouble if she stayed there.

"You... ahem... let Pyp take you out of the castle before dark." Jon knew that Ygritte was very strong, but if she went out now, she would only be caught or killed by the Night's Watch.

Pyp glanced at Ygritte who was stopped by Jon and said, "Hide here first. I will come to find you at night."

Knowing that Pyp was worthy of Jon's trust, Ygritte nodded silently.

Although Jon won a small-scale wildling siege, he was not too happy because more wildlings were gathering outside the Wall.

At night, Ygritte, wearing a black robe, was quietly sent out of the Black Castle by Pyp, so Jon was able to rest and recuperate in peace.

However, he learned some bad news from Sam the next day that Maester Aemon was seriously ill and might not survive this time.

Sam supported him as he came before the centenarian Targaryen who once had the opportunity to sit on the Iron Throne but gave it to his brother.

Looking at his frail face, Jon felt very uncomfortable.

This true maester of the Night's Watch had kept his oath for seventy years and had helped him many times, but he was powerless to do anything when he saw how weak he was.

"Sam, how is she now?" Seeing Sam supporting Jon over, Aemon nodded gently to Jon and asked Sam again.

Jon looked at Sam with some confusion, wondering who the "she" Maester Aemon was talking about was, and why Maester Aemon could not stop thinking about her on his deathbed.

"Daenerys's school has opened and classes are being taught. A private council has been established with Tyrion as prime minister." Sam told Aemon the new news about Slaver's Bay.

"Who is Daenerys? What is the academy? How come Tyrion the devil became her prime minister?" Jon was shocked when he heard Sam's answer.

After he came back, he was busy building fortifications and didn't understand what Sam said, but he was not in a position to ask at this time.

"I didn't expect that a little girl like her could do so well. She probably doesn't even know that a dying Targaryen has been silently watching her at the end of the world, but can't do anything for her." Aemon said with some shame, looking up at the sky in the distance.

"You should be proud of her that the Targaryen family can produce such an outstanding member." Looking at Maester Aemon who looked guilty, Sam said comfortingly.

"I really want to visit the school she founded personally..." Aemon retracted his slightly upward gaze, feeling a little regretful.

A few minutes later…

"Maester Aemon? Maester Aemon!"

Jon was still wondering who the girl was that the two were talking about when he suddenly heard Sam calling out. He looked up at Maester Aemon, who had his eyes closed.

The death of Maester Aemon can be said to be a great loss to the Night's Watch. This respected old Night's Watcher was not only knowledgeable and proficient in medicine, but also the helmsman and brain of the Night's Watch.

After Aemon's death, Sam wrote a solemn eulogy for him, mourning the centenarian Night's Watch who kept his oath until his death.

After cremating Maester Aemon, Jon recovered from his injuries and began to reinforce the Wall's defenses in preparation for a larger-scale siege by the wildlings.
