The Exhausted Dai Mubai

The next morning, sunlight bathed the earth, bringing warmth, freshness, and vitality. All things revived under the bright sun, marking the start of a new day.

At Shrek Academy, Yu Xiaogang stood in the center of the training ground with his hands behind his back, looking at the students lined up in front of him. He was the only teacher for today's class, as Flender had said all the academy's teachers would assist him in teaching from today onward.

Yu Xiaogang's cold gaze swept over the group. "Tomorrow morning, I expect to see you in the cafeteria earlier. Food takes time to digest, and you can't engage in intense exercise immediately after eating. I will prepare breakfast at dawn. If you don't arrive within half an hour, then don't bother eating."

His sharp gaze moved over the students, aware that some weren't paying attention, but he didn't repeat himself.

"I've learned about your martial souls and abilities. From today, I will begin your intensive training. Dai Mubai, step forward."

No response.

"Dai Mubai, step forward."

Still no response.

Yu Xiaogang's face darkened. He hadn't expected someone to skip out on his first class. His cold eyes scanned the group.

"Where is Dai Mubai? Did he show up?"

Ma Hongjun, standing on the side, nervously stepped forward, raising his hand. "Report, Boss Dai isn't feeling well. He won't be coming today."

Yu Xiaogang's face froze for a moment before he harshly replied, "He wasn't feeling well earlier or later, but he chooses this moment to feel unwell? Looks like he's just trying to skip class!"

At this moment, Ma Hongjun cursed internally. Did he really have to tell Yu Xiaogang that Dai Mubai had gone out last night and overexerted himself to the point that he couldn't even stand? If he revealed the truth, not only would he feel guilty, but Dai Mubai wouldn't forgive him once he recovered.

Ma Hongjun said, "Report, Boss Dai is truly not feeling well."

At this point, Oscar also stepped forward. "Report, I can confirm this. When Boss Dai came back this morning, he was pale, his legs were shaking, and he couldn't even stand. He even asked me for two recovery sausages!"

As soon as Oscar finished speaking, he regretted it. Anyone could guess what happened if someone came back in such a weak state.

Sure enough, everyone now knew what only Ma Hongjun had previously known — that Dai Mubai had spent the night in a brothel. Whispers filled the air, and Ning Rongrong angrily whispered to Zhu Zhuqing and Meng Yiran, cursing Dai Mubai as a "lecherous tiger."

Ma Hongjun silently mourned for both Dai Mubai and Oscar. Dai Mubai's reputation was in tatters, not that he cared much for it anyway. But Oscar was in trouble once Dai Mubai recovered.

Yu Xiaogang's face twitched at the news, his headache worsening. He knew about the students' personal habits — Ma Hongjun's visits to brothels were understandable due to his martial soul, but Dai Mubai was wasting his talent.

Yu Xiaogang sighed. "Fine. You all will run twenty laps around the village today. No food until you finish. I'll go check on Dai Mubai."

"Ah!" Ning Rongrong and Meng Yiran groaned. Ning Rongrong had suffered this punishment before, while Meng Yiran thought the training was too intense.

Tang San held Meng Yiran's hand and smiled, "Don't worry. If you can't make it, I'll carry you."

Meng Yiran nodded, her heart warmed, and suddenly twenty laps didn't seem so bad.

Five laps.

Ten laps.

Twenty laps later, everyone was panting heavily. Ning Rongrong was on the verge of collapse. Even Tang San was exhausted after carrying Meng Yiran for several laps. Only Zhu Zhuqing seemed unaffected.

Zhu Zhuqing observed everyone and muttered, "So this is true soul power control?"

She had been running with her feet infused with soul power, which increased her speed and reduced her energy consumption. If she hadn't been trying to improve her physical endurance, she could have gone even faster.

Ning Rongrong looked at Zhu Zhuqing in awe. "Wow, Zhuqing, you're amazing! Not only are you fast, but you don't even seem tired."

"Uh, thanks," Zhu Zhuqing replied awkwardly, grateful to her man for teaching her the technique.

Nearby, Tang San, supporting Meng Yiran, glanced at Zhu Zhuqing but said nothing, lost in thought.

Yu Xiaogang emerged from a nearby building. "It seems you've all completed the task successfully, especially Zhu Zhuqing. Your physical condition is impressive. I'll need to adjust your training from now on."

Zhu Zhuqing nodded, saying little.

Tang San asked, "Teacher, do we have any more training today?"

Yu Xiaogang shook his head. He had originally planned group training, but with Dai Mubai absent, there was no point.

Thinking of Dai Mubai, Yu Xiaogang sighed again. He hadn't expected the boy to be so indulgent. Under questioning from Flender and Zhao Wuji, they had learned that Dai Mubai had spent the entire night at the brothel, exhausting himself. If he didn't receive immediate treatment, his condition could worsen severely.

"I have some matters to attend to with Dean Flender. You're free to arrange your own training today. Tang San, come with me."

Yu Xiaogang wanted Tang San's opinion, as he suspected that Dai Mubai might have been poisoned rather than simply overindulgent, based on Flender's description.

Tang San replied, "Understood, teacher."

Yu Xiaogang led Tang San to Dai Mubai's dormitory, where Flender and Zhao Wuji were already by the bedside.

Dai Mubai was pale, drenched in sweat, looking utterly drained. His hands were clutching his lower abdomen, his face contorted in pain.

Flender, seeing Tang San enter, urgently called out, "Little San, come take a look! Do you think Mubai's been poisoned?"

Tang San nodded seriously. "Please remove his pants so I can examine him."
